After looking for parking at valley fair and failing because it was like retarded packed, I drove by the burger barn. I was starving and craving a burger so I tried it out. I ordered the California burger and onion rings. The sourdough was perfectly toasted and came with plenty of avocado. Onion rings were pretty good as was the burger. After I ate I asked the worker if I could give him a few bucks to park in his lot while I went to the mall to pick up something, he said It was cool and didn't take my money. it's difficult to review this place: it's good in its own level: hashbrown was fresh and yummy, eggs were cooked well, patty was good. it took longer than food to get my tea! BUT everything is in the most basic level: paper plates and cups, plastic utensils, tea is either green or lipton!, they cannot poach eggs. there are one small basket of sugar at cashier. Prices are slightly higher than what you see in images. they also accept credit cards without extra charge. read more

As far as a generic burger and fry place goes, Burger Barn is fantastic. The burgers are very good, they are not the best Burgers in the Bay Area but they are in no way disappointing and are over all good for a place that makes no claims to have a gourmet burger. Breakfasts items are great and there are lots of different menu items. Fries are the big steak potato-ie type. As long as I live near by, Burger Barn will get my business! read more

The restaurant is totally Retro style. Their breakfast is the best around for cheap. They are fast. My favorite is their hash browns and pancakes. The burgers are really good also. Their food doesn't taste "fake". Its like a home cooked meal. read more

I used to live and work around this area few years back. So, probably that's why I like this place, a bit more :P. I feel it's different (unique, as in a diner, locally run, not a chain or too upscale), relatively quite and decent food. It's a kinds a place I would love to go once in a week or two. For me, good food is, decent food, relatively inexpensive and good/ok service. Funny part is, I always get chicken burgers here! My wife and I have been walking by this place for years and I used to eat their back in the 60's when it was a Red Barn. Well we finally stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Surprisingly the building inside has not changed in 40 years. I ordered eggs, hash browns and Linguisa, what a treat. They split the sausage and cook it long enough to give it a delicious crust. The outside seating in the morning is quite and relaxed. I will return to try their lunch menu. read more

This is a great place to have junk food! The Hamburgers and fries are very tasty and they have the best milkshakes - everything for a reasonable price. After I went there for the first time with my kids they refused to go anywhere else for Hamburgers! But you can also order salads ( e.g the chicken salad,very fresh, good size portion!) and lower-calorie-sandwiches. Just as the Flames Coffee House up the street used to be a Bob's Big Boy, Burger Barn used to be a Red Barn car hop diner. Red Barn is now defunct though of course you can see from the architecture that it's still a barn and it's still pretty red. Aside from its wondeful midentury architecture--vernarcular design, lots of window space, drive up,plastic bench seating), Burger Barn delivers the kind of neighborhood burger spot vibe that is missing from many American comunities. And we're the better for it. There's a casual quality to the place which is complemented by casual but fresh, yummy, and well-priced food. I have been living near BB for over twenty years and never gave it a thought until 3 months ago. My 14 year old son is a devotee of their breakfasts, and now i'm going at lunchtime when I don't have much time. My food reviews: Western BBQ burger: A minus. great sauce. Stopped here for lunch today after years of passing it buy and I must say I'm a fan! I really like the old school feel, the burgers are good the only two things that I found that could use improvement are the fries some might like them but I'm not really a fan of steak fries also I would recommend playing period correct classic music to match this classic building insead of the modern crap that was playing when I was there that would complete the whole thing and it really would feel like a step back in time other than that I'm a fan! I do not usually write re views but when a manager argues with the customer I can not stand it. Especially when it was very clear on the receipt! I have been getting Burgers from the Burger Barn for years never have I encountered a Manger with unethical values that tampered with purpose good customer service.
