This place is pretty good. I like how their burgers always include those long pickles on the side. None of the other burger joints have that. The prices are low but they used to be even lower. A funny thing about this place is that they'll often get your drink wrong. Everytime I ordered a sprite they would give me a coke instead lol. read more

Been coming here for over 5 years. Small business owner who is really nice to his customers and worker's are nice too. I come here for a protein style burger once week. Once in a while I'll have their pastrami sandwich which is also pretty good. For price, it's a great stop. They use fresh ingredients here. read more

I do not live in Monrovia, nor do I love anywhere near it ( I live all the way in Orange County). But my grandparents do live over by burger basket and everytime I go up there I ALWAYS go here to eat. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I would choose this over in n out any day. read more

This is a cool little burger stand. The owner doesn't speak much but he's real friendly and smiles a lot. He has the cheese burger process down to a science. You can sit there and watch them make your food. They're real neat and precise. And they're really good too. I like this place just as much as I like going to In-N-Out. Recently I tried their steak sandwich. It was soooooo good. I'll definitely order that again. You can also call in your order before you get there. I've been going to Burger Basket for years and hands down one of the best hamburgers in the area. Equally as good as In and Out. The burgers are made to order and are always hot and juicy. The A-1 kosher pickles are the icing on the cake. Fries are good to and don't get soggy before you finish your burger. Try Art's on Valley Blvd in El Monte east of Peck Rd. for another classic as good as In and Out, plus no soggy fries. read more

Consider myself somewhat a local whole in the wall burger connoisseur so had to give burger basket a try. Price isn't too great considering the positions are real tight. The patty itself is real thin compared other 1/4 pound charbroiled around, burger overall basic as hell. Serving of fries that comes with the combo seems as though just literally a handful/ palmful in terms of amount. One sliced wedge of pickle will cost you extra. Same with chili peppers. No free refill either. REALLY stiff with the servings and the inside eating situation is pretty dang stuffy. Wouldn't recommend especially since there are bout four other burger options that are much MUCH better in terms of quality and price all within a five minute driving range, especially with Jim's literally a couple blocks down the street. I smelled beef and wanted a late lunch. Great excuse for trying this out. The man and woman behind the counter were very friendly. The first thing I noticed was that *everything* was spotlessly clean. Every surface. Even the ceiling and the range hood were good. The tables gleamed. I ordered cheeseburger and fries and no drink and they didn't hassle me about the drink. The man charbroiled my burger and there was a healthy amount of smoke. He assembled the burger, his wife doled out the fries, they stuck it in a basket, and I took it home. I posted the photo here. This is not a large burger, but it was indeed very tasty. Lettuce and tomato. The fries were good too. There were no fries that had languished in the cooker until they were dark brown and had the consistency of drywall. These were lightly browned on the outside and still a bit soft inside (but not raw by any means). Unless you like them very well done, these were cooked to perfection, and tasty (and I'm sure they would have accomodated any request for browner fries). They didn't salt them, leaving me to determine how much salt to apply. Good move. Included a pickle. Not a huge amount of fries. Kind of basic fast food side order. But enough. Cost: $3.95. 3 stars for this place and would have received a higher rating but one unfortunate night I ended up getting food poisoning from a steak burger I had picked up prior to going to Hollywood that night. Almost an hour after consuming the damn thing I started to feel queezy, had some friends over and thought it was just the booze kicking in. But this was different, something was cooking in my belly. I didnt feel like going out anymore but my best friend and the girls wanted to go. I ended up driving those fools and a couple of times had to pull over to yack my brains out. Finally ended up at Dublins, I remember trying to take down a couple of shots with the group but ended up fighting my way to the bathroom and yacking it up. Meanwhile my best friends and the girls were getting it on like donkey and I was hunched over on one of the shitty couches on the second floor face to face with peoples assess. I went downstairs to find a less crowded seating area and just sat at one of the booths that were empty. Then come along to BiG black girls very nice and all but I wanted to be alone. SO my best friend comes running along asking if i was ok. I said Fuck no! But go have fun! One of the Big Black girls heard me and asked him what was the matter. This little bastard said "he had a bad steak sandwhich and is sick" Black girl turned to me and said "awwww come here" grabbed me and there I was face to face with 2, count em 2 BiG ass black boobs suffocating in agony. DAmn him! To end this lovely story, I boycotted this damn place for about 3 years and for one unforseen day I ended up here buying a steak sandwhich and it was good, but the damage had been done. read more

I still enjoy going to burger basket for their chicken sandwich special as does my sweetie but for the price I pay I should get a decent amount of fries. Every time I go in there I have to ask for extra fries. Don't get me wrong they give me extra tomato on my sandwich and extra pickles but come on stop being stingy with the fries it's not like you only have a couple of bags in the freezer you have a whole lot of bags of fries. I had their chicken burger and fries combo and it was great. The chicken was very moist inside and crispy on the outside it doesn't look like a lot of food but it's filling. Their fries are so good. The food reminds me of sitting on the beach eating a classic burger and fries. The service is great and the cook is really nice! read more

cool burger joint. ive been coming to this place for years and remember the cheseburger combo which included fries, drink and pickle used to be $3.65. now its $4.50 =p. anyway the burgers aren't the best but they're good + you get a pickle with it. you can never go wrong with a burger from the basket. read more
