This is the first time I have eaten from here. I was really apprehensive but I had to compare it to the other local burger joint because who doesn't enjoy a good burger from a local joint! The staff was nice and professional! I enjoyed the fresh fries and the burger was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. All the toppings are added which was great because they are fresh and not just sitting on a burger waiting under a heat lamp. They also accept Apple Pay, Google, tap to pay and cash of course. Perfect burgers, fish sandwiches, shakes, orange freezes, and fries. Crucially, Burger Boy knows how to cook bacon to perfection, which is not true of every burger place. I can't believe I've lived in San Antonio as long as I have and never been to Burger Boy! The food was fantastic! Late night dinner. Delicious Hamburger. Got the working man special with the regular lettuce, tomato, pickles and mustard. Also added grilled onions. It was truly tasty and delectable. The bun was soft and warm. Perfect blend of flavors. The hamburger meat not too thick so it didn't feel too heavy, yet it was filling. I officially given up on burger boy. I gave it 3 tries. The first try my family felt sick because of the large amount of grease. Food tastes good. Second time wasn't so bad but the wait was insane. This last time the staff was unpleasant and seemed like they hated their lives. Then to make this review a one star. We found a LONG HAIR inside my sons burger. They are not clean and do not care about the quality of food they send out. Absolutely sad that this location sucks as bad as it does because I like the franchise at a whole. I was really surprised by this place! It's right off Pat Booker, it's a small sign, but you just have to turn in around the Taco Bell and you can get to it. Burger is delicious, best drive thru burger on that strip! Very quick service! My coworker says that the shakes are good, but I got the unsweet tea and actually its super good! I was driving by and saw no line during lunch. I think everything is made to order. Not sure it was my very first experience. There was a quite a bit of wait at the window while I went through the drive thru. Ordering was pretty quick. I didn't look at the menu much. I ordered a burger with fries and a drink. Very dissapointed with this location. We SO needed a decent burger joint in this neighborhood, was elated when they opened, but sadly, this location is not good. Burgers are the greasiest I've ever eaten. Bacon is very undercooked. Orders are wrong more than they're right. I know they can do better because the other locations are decent. The people at the Pat Booker store are always friendly, efficient and eager to please. I've been eating Bates burgers - Whopper Burgers back in the day - for more than 60 years. I followed them through another name but the same great burgers and shakes. And now, they're back! No one in S.A. compares. My pre-teen buddies and I used to go to the original Whopper Burger on West Avenue several times a week. If we had a little money, we ate burgers.
