22 Feb 2025. 3.7 stars. 12:56 pm…read more Hello! Make sure you check their hours. Some days they are only open from 11am to 3pm. On our first 20 mile drive to visit, they blocked us at the inside of the unlocked front door at 3:12pm. Street parking can be difficult but a short drive\walk distance about a block away is a $3 an hour parking garage. The place looks clean and not too busy. We sit and our waitress Yanira M was perfect. Very nice, patient and attentive. We three shared two carne asada dinners with rice and refried red beans, two coffees, a coke and three pupusas. $101.36 before tip. The menu was confusing to us. First, the use of the menu words "red refried beans" confused us as refried beans have never been red in our lifetimes and these were pretty standard brown pinto bean looking and tasting. Maybe less confusion if they were called refried red beans. Then, we thought dinners came with pupusas. No. They came with two each thick tortillas (same as half pupusas with no filling as I could tell.) I enjoyed these thick homemade tortillas. The steak was not bad but I wish it had been served with its sizzle in tact. Salsa and coleslaw came as condiments though they might have been introduced with different names by Yanira. The coleslaw was a nice touch-served in a small jar with serving tongs. The salsa was tasting a bit like the V8 vegetable juice that you had as a kid or teen if you are a boomer. This meal could have really used some homemade spice sauce to add some kick to it. The main negatives today were the high music level at the back where we sat. That, and a busser man dragging some screeching and protesting chairs across the floor - to set up for a large party I believe. Real ear busters. The best part of the meal was the piping hot pupusas and our coffee. I would go back for those.

I've always loved their fish tacos, which to me are better than any I've ever had in SoCal, including San Diego! Like their other permanent locations, here you will also find tacos with various fillings, lunch plates and other items. Walk on in and you'll find an airy clean open interior with high ceilings and plenty of seating and tables all around. Scan the laminated paper menu at the counter. The menu isn't big, but it's rather focused. No burritos here, just tacos, sandwiches (tortas) and big plates! Vegetarian/Vegan? There are several tofu-based offerings and a bigger salad too. Order up at the counter, grab a pager, find a seat, enjoy the Latin music over the speakers and before you know it, your order is presented before you. Trying to stay "healthy", I decided against my all-time favorite Baja fish tacos, and ordered the Pollo de Cholita plate. With this you get a big boneless chicken thigh marinated with herbs and mild spices with white rice, beans (black or pinto), a side salad of fresh mixed greens and three delicious fried plantains. The chicken thigh is flattened thin, but was totally moist and tender and most importantly flavorful and not overly marinated on the tongue. The rice with black beans and mixed greens in a light vinaigrette were the perfect neutral companion to the chicken, with the plantains providing a lightly fried sweet contrast and finish to the meal.. Suffice it to say, I loved this dish, and look forward to coming back!

Mind you, I'm in a different headspace when I come out of the gym, definitely hungry but flummoxed by guilt over excessive calorie intake after working out. Tacos can be fun, even tofu ones, and sanguches too, but I decided to go for what I surmised to be a healthy choice. It also turned out to be the priciest plate on the menu, the $14.65 Pollo de Cholita. I didn't regret my selection. It centered on a flattened boneless chicken thigh marinated in herbs & spices and grilled. It was surrounded by rice covered in pinto beans, a mixed green salad, and grilled plantains (Photo 7). Like my other experiences at other Cholita Linda, it was satisfying enough because the ingredients were fresh and the execution fine if you're looking for homestyle Mexican comfort food at a non-taqueria price point. It was more than enough food but we just couldn't stop eating because of how delicious it was! The sweet corn tamale was like a dessert, but paired with the tang and salt of the sour cream and cotija cheese it became a refreshing sweet and salty bite. It was a traditional corn dough and the texture was insanely soft, unlike most of the dry tamales I have had before. The pache tamale was truly the star. I had no idea what I was ordering, but I'm so glad that I managed to get this item in my order. The masa is made with potatoes instead of corn which gives it a smooth and melt in your mouth texture and a savory, addictive flavor. The pork inside is juicy and tender. Each bite is complete with the tangy pickled onions. The chuchitos were like the traditional Mexican tamales I am used to, with corn masa and stuffed with flavor and juicy chicken. The tamales are doused in a delectable red sauce and topped with cotija, sour cream, and more pickled onions. They were delightful. The garnachas were definitely the other star of this order. I had never had tostadas like them before, with flavorful and juicy chopped meat, salsa, and cotija. They are served with pickled veggies to add spice and tang, but what surprised me the most was the sautéed cabbage placed on top of each garnacha. The cabbage was so flavorful and soft, and despite all of the other sources of flavor it made itself known. The chile relleno plato was unlike what I am used to. Often, the chile rellenos my family eats are poblano peppers stuffed with oaxacan cheese, these were not that at all. In a way, this dish resembled more of a stuffed bell pepper, with a red pepper filled with chopped meat and veggies. I did get a piece of cartilage which made me a little wary when taking a bite but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself. The black beans it came with were flavorful and the dressing of the salad was amazing and reminiscent of a green goddess dressing. The service was amazing. The people were sweet and accommodating. I also really enjoyed the ambience even though I did order pick up. There are murals and bright colors lining all of the walls, giving the place a welcoming and fun vibe. Overall, with the amazing food, sweet faculty, and beautiful setting, it is impossible to go to this place and not feel an immediate lift in mood.

From the moment I sat down, the warm glow of the dining room, lively energy, and inviting aromas drifting from the kitchen set the tone for an exceptional evening. The cocktails were outstanding. The Ojos Así was beautifully balanced, with bright, refreshing notes layered over deeper, more complex flavors that unfolded with each sip. Its vibrant presentation and fragrant aroma made it as enjoyable to admire as it was to drink. Equally impressive was the Y El Hombre Caimán, a bold and expertly crafted cocktail bursting with character, combining rich flavors and a silky texture while remaining remarkably approachable. Both were the kind of cocktails that make you slow down, savor every sip, and appreciate the artistry behind them. For the main course, the Costilla Negra was the star of the table. Perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, the short rib featured a beautifully caramelized exterior that gave way to tender, flavorful meat. Each bite delivered a satisfying balance of richness and refinement, while the thoughtfully plated accompaniments added contrasting textures and complementary flavors that elevated the dish even further. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Rhi, tending bar, was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the cocktail program. Her recommendations were spot on and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. She is a true master at her craft. Jackie, our server, was equally fantastic--warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like valued guests throughout the meal. Parche combines exceptional Colombian cuisine, creative cocktails, and hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Between the vibrant atmosphere, beautifully presented dishes, and memorable flavors, it's the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy. I will absolutely be returning. The Plantains: Perfectly executed with that ideal contrast of texture and rich flavor. The Branzino Salad: A total standout. The fish was beautifully prepared, light, and paired wonderfully with the crisp, refreshing greens. The Comunitario Rice: Deeply flavorful, comforting, and perfect for sharing across the table. The standout of the night was Javier C. He appeared to be doing the work of multiple people--serving tables, tending the bar, and even helping clear and reset tables. Throughout the evening, he remained attentive, professional, friendly, and efficient. He consistently checked on guests and ensured everyone had what they needed. Unfortunately, many of the other servers seemed disengaged. Several appeared more focused on standing around and repeatedly wiping menus than assisting guests or checking on their tables. As a result, Javier seemed to be carrying much of the workload himself while other team members were noticeably inattentive. Limon is fortunate to have an employee like Javier. His work ethic, sense of urgency, and dedication to customer service set an excellent example. I hope management recognizes his efforts and encourages the rest of the team to follow his lead. Javier was the reason our dining experience remained positive despite the lackluster service from much of the rest of the staff.
