Finally came here...kids were doing the trick or treating thing at Flower Hill mall on Friday...and I needed to feed the kids lunch first... To my surprise and extreme delight...Burger lounge was giving the kid a free kids meal!!! wow! my tab went from whatever it would have been to zero! sweet. Choice of burger or chicken & fries or salad....i ordered the burger and fries for both kids....my sister said her's had the chicken...and the pieces were massive and delish (wish i had gotten that for my daughter now)... I've seen a downhill turn in this place. I was so impressed a few years ago I gave it 5 stars. The manager was phenomenal in every regard and set a great tone. Now, much less enthusiastic staff. Also, I have always loved the lavender lemonade and got it every time. It is now so watered down it has no real flavor. I thought it was a fluke, but 3 times in a row I threw it out. How about just not give refills but give an actual drink that has flavor and isn't cheaply watered down. I spoke with the manager and told her it was the first time. Ho hum... She wasn't bad, but not great either. She took it off my bill. That was nice. I've gone there for years. How about offering a free drink? It's great to have a chain that serves grass fed beef at reasonable prices. Quick and efficient too. I do wish they would be less heavy handed with the spatula as the edges are often overcooked but I always make a special request and they do their best to oblige. Wish they hadn't gotten rid of their salads. Went away with Covid and never returned. read more

LOVE the Fresh Vegetable Salad here! The dressing is so light and flavorful. You can order a full or half portion. I've also had the burgers, fries and onion rings. Food is always fresh and delicious...never had a bad meal here. Service for a burger joint is amazing...they are really great here! One time I was sitting at the table waiting for my togo order and some nice gentleman offered me a beverage....I got the lavender mint lemonade and loved it! I spent $60 on four meals and they want to charge 50 cents for each ranch that's about 1 oz each. That is not additional ranch. That's just for any amount of ranch at all. What manager would ever implement that? I understand if it was additional over a normal amount, but out of principle I'm never going here again. Need better customer service. We are regular. Today 1/29/20 at around 1:40 pm the service was horrible, from ordering all the way through. 1. The female cashier was extremely rude. How would you like to hear something like, "Well, hurry up and order then!!!!" when we told her we are not done ordering yet. The restaurant not very busy, we were the only one in line. 2. Half of our order came out and after 15 minutes waiting we found out that they had given it to someone else. So we have to wait while the table that got our order get the pamper treatment having the extras packaged. No apologies to us. 3. Not very sanitary refill procedure -- dirty glass rim touching the beverage handle. Should never use dirty used glass for refill. read more

Placed a to-go order with from the Burger Lounge on Villa de la Valle in San Diego. Left the restaurant, drove to my destination (15 min away) and realized my burger was not correctly made. It was not edible (very dry...just bread meat and cheese). Called the restaurant. They said they remembered packaging the order, agreed they did not do the burger correctly, apologized and said they would refund me. They said I needed to talk to the manager to get the refund. Then the general manager (Christina) got on the phone and said they would not refund me. Instead, she offered me a $10 gift card if I wanted to come back. I said my burger was $22, was not edible and them offering me a $10 gift card for a burger I paid $22 for and was not edible was not fair. She said "I'm not going to refund you for a $22 burger." She was very rude and seemed irritated that I was not happy with her proposed solution. I wound up throwing the burger away. So I'm out $22 despite the fact that your store acknowledged they made the burger incorrectly. I run a business too and realize sometimes my employees don't get things right - people make mistakes. W O W!!! This is my FAVORITE burger place! The location is always immaculate, especially the unisex bathroom. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The manager, Jason, is very visible, hands on and greets me like a good friend! And... the food is really deLish ~ organic, grass fed, local and well priced! So we came here for the first time yesterday and were a bit underwhelmed esp by service. Both of our burgers were good- but the turkey burger was pretty small. We ordered the ceasar salad and it was brought to us with 1/2 of everything missing on it and no dressing. We were confused and brought it back, only to wait 20 minutes for dressing. Plus for a kale salad, there were maybe 5 small peices of kale and tons of taro. Really a waste of money. I spoke to the Manager, Christina and she was unapologetic and just a flat out liar. She blamed the on-line system and said that the delay had to do with all the volume and that everyone else was backed up. The reality: they didn't even know the order existed until I asked. Placed an online order for delivery through the BL website. Created an account. Received an email confirmation of the order from BL. Called to change delivery address. Manager said they didn't deliver! I needed to check with the delivery company. No where in the email confirmation or the link to track my order did it say a third party was involved. The manager confirmed they would be making the food. He kept saying they didn't deliver. Again, nowhere was there an indicator of some other firm involved. So we had to change some plans to have someone wait for the delivery to the original address from an unknown service. The "track my order" link went back to Burger Lounge. First time visiting this location. Lovely place in the Flower Hill Plaza area. The Little Lounge I ordered was perfectly prepared and tasted great, as it normally does. The grass-fed beef is top quality and just melts in your mouth. The fries, however, were a tad overcooked. Very friendly service though. read more

Stopped by the gas station on our way back to Orange County and realized that we hadn't eaten all day. I started searching online to check out what was available in the shopping center. Showed up at 6:30, 30 minutes before closing. The employee, before I even opened my mouth said it was a 25 minute wait for food and clearly was not having a good day based on her attitude. We ordered our food and my hamburger came out not as I ordered it but decided to not address it because it wasn't worth getting more attitude. My family and I were sitting outside eating and the same employee came out and announced multiple times in an unfriendly voice that it was time for everyone to leave because they were closed. I live 2 minutes away from this place and I'm at Flower Hill all the time but for some reason hadn't eaten here in years. I ordered online and immediately headed over to pick them up and they were ready, so it was quick. We'll be back for sure...especially since my son said his burger was the best burger he'd ever had. (They were the veggie burgers with Impossible brand of "meat".) Mine was ok, it had great flavor and seemed really fresh except that the bread seemed a little dry...but my daughter had a couple bites of mine and didn't seem to mind...the same daughter who said "she already ate and didn't want anything" when I was ordering. She took a bite as she was grabbing her keys and walking out the door for practice but hesitated for a second and got that semi-surprised look on her face like "hmmm, not bad". And then took a second man-sized bite out of it. So the teenagers loved it and will probably Door Dash it way too often, even when there's plenty of food here at home. I'll try it again for sure. This place used to be amazing but it's going downhill fast. Prices are high but understandable for the quality of food. What I don't get is how stingy they've started to be. They changed the size of the cups for the ranch and ketchup so they're tiny and now the employees are only filling them half way. If you ask for more they just say "I can give you ONE more". I paid $20 for just myself and waited 20 minutes but I can't have some extra ranch? Even pouring the two cups together you can barely dip the tip of a French fry. I first thing I noticed when I sat down was that all the tables were freshly wiped down and the seats too. Huge for me!!!! The food was super fresh and piping hot when it came out. But I have to say, the customer service, hands down, could not ask for better. Not pushy, but extremely attentive. Makes going out to dinner so nice when people are friendly and paying attention. Want a quick delicious burger without the wait of a sit-down restaurant? Want fresh, organic ingredients AND a friendly attitude? Burger Lounge has all these things. Upscale burgers without the upscale 'tude. Fun menus, simple burgers. They also have fun, less simple burgers like their veggie quinoa and boar burgers (*note: boar burger may have been a seasonal special). I had the little lounge - a smaller version of their classic size. I ordered my "lounge style", which means it came with 1000 island dressing and some other stuff. The other option is "classic" or "whatever you want to put on it." We also opted to split a regular fry, which was totally enough for two unless you're a fry glutton - in which now I must mention you should learn to split fries because being a fry glutton can lead to health issues (*note: any fries, not just ones from BL). Although we didn't try the onion rings, they looked mighty good as well. The only downside to this place is the lack of seating. During busy hours, it can be hard to find a table. And don't bother with bringing a group of more than 4. Actually, you're better off with just 2. You might find a seat then. Also, parking in this complex sucks, but I can't hold that against BL. read more

I was in the area on a Friday evening and needed dinner and since I had never been here, this is where I picked. I walked in and took a look at the menu. I know this is a quick serve place and one of the best ways to have quick serve is to have a small menu, but I was not impressed. There were too few options for me and why isn't bacon on a staple burger?!? Why does it have to be extra for every burger, 98% of people will say yes to bacon on a burger! Also, many people who know me know I have an issue with American cheese.... of all the cheeses, you pick American? Which is always so processed and gross and hardly has any flavor. Having American cheese on a burger does not enhance it in any way. I picked the classic and had everything removed and added bacon and had a side of fries and a soft drink. I really wanted a lemonade but I didn't want a "fancy" lemonade, I just wanted something simple so I was a bit sad but I was at a burger place, I should have just got the milkshake. After I paid they gave me a number and I was able to pick wherever to eat. I was on my own and don't want to take up a table so I went outside and sat at the bar styled table which was perfect for people watching. It took a while to get my food. A bit longer than I think the staff expected because of how many times they came up to apologize. It didn't bother me too much as I was keeping myself busy with buzzfeed quizzes but since they have such a small menu and there aren't many choices, it really shouldn't take long to cook and put together a burger. Burgers should never leave the grill so they should always be ready. I eventually got my food and dug in. The burger was just okay. I was a bit disappointed because for how busy they are and how many locations there are, I thought it would be better. I know I had everything removed, but I never have those items on my burgers and have had wayyy better elsewhere. The fries were great though. I loved them. I ate all of my food but since the burger wasn't amazing everything was just okay to me. There are so many restaurants in San Diego that serve burgers. There are just so many restaurants.
