What a packed place! After being featured on Tiktok, this place boomed in popularity as told to me by the cashier. Every time I stopped by, there seemed to be a line. There are plentiful options to build your bento! There is no minimum and no penalties for picking a larger bento and not filling it to the max. It is priced per piece, and specialty rolls are priced higher than nigiri. All pieces were delicious, though I feel my return for next time will only be for inari and nigiri. Very fresh fish but the specialty rolls did not commit the price per piece for me. Slightly pricey but even only about 10 pieces can make you full-- I would say their portions per piece are a slight bit bigger than a normal roll piece would be. Staff are friendly and replenished the fish as they were able. Come in before it hits late afternoon, as most pieces one night were sold out by 6pm. If you want an affordable sushi place, I would not recommend here but it is perfect if you like to try a bit of everything rather than committing to a roll alone! We saw a few videos about this opening in our neighborhood, and came by to check it out this weekend. The store is cute with a good amount of space to wait in, but is definitely more for takeout - there was one small bar/high table seating by one wall. I got the katsu sando and it was great - the bread was soft, sweet, and fluffy, and the katsu was thick and juicy. It took a few minutes to come out because they fry it fresh, and it came with a side of edamame. My friends tried the sushi, and overall enjoyed it. They mentioned that the rice was a little too dense, and was too sweet, but the fish was good, and felt reasonable for the price. The group favorite was the double hamachi roll. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box. It was around $19, and provided a balance of rice, cabbage, edemame, a roasted pepper, and a small side of potato salad. It had a big portion of chicken though, I didn't finish it so I had it as a leftover later in the day. It's a great place for a quick bite, or takeout as there's limited outdoor seating. I tried the Sunset Kani, a roll filled with raw salmon and tuna and topped with imitation crab and spicy mayo; the Spicy Tuna Pressed Sushi; the Spicy Mayo Salmon Inari; and my favorite, the vegetarian Truffle Mushroom Inari, made of shimeji mushrooms and truffle over rice wrapped in tofu skin. Since everything was premade, the sushi wasn't of the best quality but was still decent for what it was. However, I was a bigger fan of their made-to-order entrees. The Miso Carbonara Udon was made of udon noodles mixed with a creamy carbonara sauce, bacon, and mushrooms; but my favorite dish of all was the Unagi and Egg Bento, which came with a generous fillet of eel brushed with a sweet and savory sauce; shredded omelette; cabbage salad in sesame dressing; edamame; creamy potato salad; and white rice. This new way of selecting your pieces to build your own box is very smart. The little Nigiri, Inari and Rolls all pass the eye tests behind the pastry like display. You can certainly rack up a pretty hefty bill for takeout but remember this is sushi restaurant build your own box. With that being said, I feel it is priced about right for the quality of their products. The sushi was fresh and the sauces were good! The BB team added their own style to other traditional sushi and it works! As a fan of the Japanese Egg Salad Sandwich, I had to try their Sando. I even joked with the owner that I have to test theirs against my homemade Japanese egg salad. The sandwich was of a generous portion. I truly enjoyed their egg salad as it wasn't super creamy and it wasn't overly sweet.... There was a great balance to their sando! I feel they went an extra step in mixing the yokes and ingredients to a nice consistency the adding the egg whites in chunks after to give the different texture in the salad. Well done! I think the roll pieces are around 2.35 vs nigiri which is around $3/piece. The fish we got was good tho - the packaging was really cute and the inside of the restaurant is pretty aesthetically pleasing. I wish they had like a deal where you could get a discount or something the more sushi you buy, I thought. I got enough for my boyfriend and I but we were still kinda hungry after.
