We came here for a friend's bday and it was an interesting experience. It was the day before Memorial Day, and we arrived around 6:30pm.. the first floor was closed, and the second floor bar was slammed when we walked in. By the time we got a table on the middle floor, we had been there about 20 mins. Not a big deal, but when we finally got to the front of the bar line, we were able to talk to the bartender (who was actually awesome- I wish I got his name, cuz I can't say the same for all of the staff) & he explained that they were dead all day until about 5pm, so they closed the bottom floor. I could sense the regret/frustration lol.. the drinks were awesome, I got an espresso martini (or 3) and my husband and friends liked their drinks as well. The food was a rollercoaster... bad, then good, then amazing lol.. and the service was nonexistent.. you had to go to the bar to order, and every time we had food dropped off, we would have to ask for plates and forks (they have a utensil, napkin, and condiment holder on every table, but ours was basically empty).. when we asked for extra anything or for something from the food runner, you could tell they were trying to avoid any extra work. They would point us to where the self serve water is, and let us know it would be a while until they came back with whatever we were asking for. I honestly don't blame the staff for this, I blame the owner and/or manager who seems to not be able to schedule properly. They were definitely busy enough to have floaters. As for the food- we started with the nachos, buffalo chicken dip, and the Margie salad. The salad was the best of the three, with the other two having super dry chicken & not super flavorful. We also had the braised short rib, chimichurri steak frites, & the mushroom pappardelle (add chicken, & sadly not pictured), & once again.. the chicken was suuuuper dry. Other than that though, these three entrees were absolutely delicious! TLDR; don't expect excellent service, do expect a college vibe, and skip the apps/ stick with the entrees! I can see myself picking up that mushroom pasta to go someday, but probably won't be back for any other reason, being that there are so many other amazing spots in Denver. read more

We checked out this place for brunch. We came early, so it really wasn't too busy, but it started to while we were finishing up. It is a great place to have brunch with a lot of people because the place is huge. I ordered the steak breakfast tacos. They were good, but nothing to run back and get again. Have been a few times before this past Saturday and the food and service used to be reasonable. However, on Saturday night we ordered elote dip and it was severely underwhelming. Added salt. Didn't help. Added hot sauce from sleuthing around the bar on third floor...nope. Corn was cold and the vibes were even colder with the bartenders. They all seemed annoyed to help the patrons. I waited for 8 minutes for a BEER while a bartender behind the bar played on his phone and the other guys were all standing back to customers. Nope. Too many other great options in Denver. Good food, good drinks, good ambiance. Have come here a couple of times now and always enjoy it. It's a big venue so they have lots of seating options. I enjoy sitting on the 3rd floor outside bar the best because it has views of the city and the mountains. Sometimes they have live music in the evenings on the 2nd floor which is so fun. Last time we went we had the ribs and fried cauliflower from their specials menu and they were both so delicious. Worst experience I've ever had. Tried to plan my son's birthday party and the event planner finally got back to me after several attempts. He explained we could come early when they opened and saved tables for a party on the second level and he would make sure we had at least two bar tenders available. After coming in extra early I had one manager come and say they were not even opening the second level bar in which the event planner and I discussed and the hostess said would open at 12. I had my party come at 12 due to me making sure I got there in enough time to save our tables and prepare for my event. At 1 another manager came and told me we needed to move our 25+ people upstairs or leave. Mind you more than half of my party just ordered food and now we need to relocate or leave!!!! Absurd. Also I explained to the second manager what the event planner told me and what the other manager said and she bluntly called me a liar. I know a party of 25+ that will never attempt to attend this restaurant ever again and will spread the word of how awful they treated paying customers. Oh and the food is mediocre as well. What a cool atmosphere! I only stopped by for a drink but my friends had food and reported it to be good. I think the overall vibe of the business is really fun! There are multiple floors and the view from the rooftop is stunning! Especially with the sunset! I would definitely recommend this spot as a new weekend hangout! They also have a ton of tv screens so also a great spot to cheer on your favorite team! It is a little more south on Broadway than I hoped, but it is very much worth a visit! Denver Restaurant Week was an amazing event to reconnect with a busy local friend in her old neighborhood. She loved returning to her old hood and seeing this vibrant establishment next to old haunts. The place was massive as I had anticipated from seeing it on instagram when it first opened. Multi-storied and extremely spacious! Wooden charm and leather accents created intimate social spaces within the vast area. We dined on the second floor by a window at the top and bottom of some stairs behind a glass encasement. We watched the sun set over an espresso martini and white wine and our coursed Denver Restaurant Week selections. DRINKS: I had the Silk Suit, it was good not too sweet but it felt like it needed a little something to make it pop. NON-ALCOHOLIC: I had the Slow Burn; refreshing,bitter spicy but in a great way with that Tajín rim. AMBIANCE: Lively, casual but still had a classy vibe. Can get cold if seated by a vent, just bring a light sweater or something to cover up on the chance that you are;besides that it's not too hot or freezing. SERVICE: CAM was our waiter, he was GREAT! Would check in on us often enough that we didn't feel neglected, but not to the point where it was annoying. My partner and I are more reserved and we felt comfortable with his energy. This restaurant has a very unique overall feeling. All three floors have a fun vibe and you can tell it was decorated with intention. The hostess was very accommodating and friendly, our server was attentive and great to be around. We went on the first day of their new brunch menu, my wife and I loved our food! The Skirt Steak Street Breakfast tacos was our favorite but the Hangover Burger was massive and flavorful as well! Can't forget the basket of warm fresh cookies to satisfy your sweet tooth! For sports fans, there are TVs EVERYWHERE. We cheered on the Buffaloes vs Nebraska while having a great brunch! I may come back and give a secondary review once they've had a chance to iron out all the kinks. But I would still recommend BurnDown for ambience, large groups, and awesome views. I initially sat at the 2nd floor bar by myself while waiting for friends and had great service from the first bartender. She was very attentive, you could tell her and the other bartender were really working as a team. We then sat at a table for bites once everybody arrived. Server was great, entertaining and approachable. We had the wings which and the street corn, both are super tasty! After that, we went upstairs to the 3rd floor to hang out and check out the views at the other bar. Played a game of pool and had a good time. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The bartender was clearly annoyed with us, kept leaving and was vey unpleasant when it came time for last call. They did last call and we ordered a round of shots for the group. The bartender then walked away and did not come back. Another bartender told us we missed last call and they were starting to get a bit yucky with us when the manager came through and stepped in. She made things right but it's hard to get the experience of the angry bartenders out of my mind. Anyway, like I said, I'll give them another chance. Maybe it's just start up problems.... but they need work. The mussels were served without a dish for the shells. The wine sauce was more a tomato garlic rich sauce. The "grilled bread" with the mussels was not toasted or grilled. The nachos were pale and under cooked with very little meat. The beet salad was the best overall, but with over cooked carrots hard to chew. The plating and garnish were great on the salad. 3 happy hour cocktails, 2 appetizers and a salad = $90. BurnDown is a few blocks from my home. Very convenient. They have 3 floors with bars on each floor + rooftop patio. There a acoustic performance space on the 2nd floor facing the open to the sky atrium. So live music can be heard throughout. In the meantime, good music is playing on the loudspeakers. Not too loud, so you can hear conversations. You can get food on 1st & 2nd floors. They have stairs to each floor and an elevator. There is a 2nd set of stairs from the 3rd floor to the rooftop. You can see downtown to the north and the Rocky Mtns to the west (a bit too much smoke today from the wildfires in Canada). Drinks and food prices are fair. I got a Ginger Spritz for $8. They are open Tues-Thur, Sun 11am-11pm, Fri/Sat 11am-Midnight. Closed Mon. Main doors open 5pm, use single door before 5pm. read more

Came in for a quick beer with a nice view. Burndown has four levels that you can check out. There was a live band playing on the second floor and the way it's set up you can hear them playing from where you are in the bar. It's a very open space with some great views of the mountains on the rooftop. The menu did offer food that you can sit down for on the first two levels. The top two levels seem to be geared towards just the bar scene. They had a few outdoor games you could play with like corn hole and connect four. I really liked this restaurant. A friend of mine told me about it and we went.... she said the last time she went the food was really good. It's hard to find good nachos these days. We went on a Wednesday night. They also did trivia games so that was really cool and played music. I would say it's definitely not a quiet place. I also love that they have a small patio. They have big open windows. I think my favorite was the coconut shrimp and the nachos. And they served very generous portions. The nacho plate was definitely big enough to share for 3 to 4 people. We also got a coconut margarita. The presentation of the food and drink was really good. The service was great. We put in our order and everything was at the table within 10 minutes or so. We've been here several times for brunch. The burrito with pulled pork is delicious - especially dipped in queso. The space is stunning and the staff is nice. I'd give 5 stars if they'd up their mimosa game a notch or two. For one, they are very OJ heavy in a six ounce pour. Secondly there wasn't a bubble to be seen in the glass. The flat $9 drinks were disappointing enough to send us home - stopping at Divino wine on the way - for a bottle of BUBBLY to share on our couch instead of spending any more at BurnDown. Take a stroll down Broadway, and you will see the old furniture store has been refurbished and become this spectacular new waterhole/restaurant. Pull up!!!! This is 4/5 levels of beauty & fun on each level. I believe the 1st two levels are where food is served. The 1st floor was closed for a wedding/ private event. It's pretty cool to know you can rent out a level. We walked up to the top level, which is like an outdoor open air patio with tons of seating. While walking up, we noticed that every level has outdoor patio seating with views of Broadway and/or the majestic sunsetting mountains. You could hear the live band playing loud & clear from this level. But wait, there's more, I took a gander up another flight of stairwells, and this led to a fully open rooftop patio. It was full of beautiful patrons and another bar. I will party up there one day, just not today. On the open air concept level, there are cool Pickwick tables to chill for groups of people. We went I side since we didn't see a server walking around. There is a huge bar with bout 4/5 bartenders. We stood at one end for about 20 mins or so, the bar back let us know someone would be with us soon, nicely he told two of the bartenders we were looking to order. After 29 mins, still nothing, the bar back noticed no one else was ordering, but the bartenders were just chilling talking to one another and said hey they still haven't been served [our group] us. Finally, a female bartender came over & politely took our order. Not gone lie I was shocked that when we went to pay the tablet had options of 22% 25% 30% tip on the screen. That's comical to me. An establishment with service like this starts at 22%, no worries, we happily hit the custom tip button & left 18% since it took so long to get a drink. The rest of the night was cool. We did venture back down to level 2 down another set of stairs. Fyi, it's cool; there are several different ways to get to the different levels. We got front row seats to listen to the live band before then finished up for the night. This level also has cool booths & pool tables. Next time we want to come earlier to try the food because all the food we saw people eating looked amazing. In conclusion, if you want to try one of the best new editions to Broadway...#PULLUP!!! You will not be disappointed there are 4/5 levels of greatness to eat, drink, and be merry! Plus, amazing views and reasonably priced signature cocktails & beers. We hosted a wedding welcome party here for 80 people, and it was fabulous. We worked with Matt and he was superb from beginning to end. The atmosphere is unbeatable, the views are great and wow... the food amazing also. They were so easy to work with and very accommodating. If you are thinking about it, don't hesitate.
