    Espresso martini and chicken fingers

I've been here twice recently and enjoyed both times! The place is big they have multiple floors. We went for brunch on Saturday and they had a deal on espresso martinis-great service at the bar. Hung out then ordered some food to go with the few rounds we had. Also went for happy hour during the week and they had a special on the old fashioned drinks. I got the steak tacos and they were pretty good. The meat was great. They also happened to have trivia that night. Overall this is one of the those places you can always guarantee to meet up with your friends and have a good time.

I love a roof-top bar. Four levels including the roof. Restaurant is on the first floor. Fun spot for a nightcap or some drinks that glow in the dark. Great music. Tasty Bloody Mary. The vibe is party time. Big screen TVs and music all around. Parking on the street.

Something new, kinda far away from my home base but Yelp photos looked great. Here I am. Made reservation (1st floor only) but most of the 1st floor was empty for early Friday afternoon. Got a table, immediately greeted by our server. Ordered drinks and the food. Went to wash hands and checked out the roof top and rest of the floors. Each floor had bars but the roof top. There were already people by the fireplaces (several). Will be a nice place to hang out. I guess you order from the bar, get a buzzer and they will bring to you as on option? Two entrée we ordered arrived quickly. Just basic tavern food but thats what we wanted and looked pretty good. Burger with fries and rueben. They were excellent. Buns were soft, browned up nicely, didn't fall apart from me biting into it. Saved up the half of the rueben for next morning. Yes, it was very good after nuking it. One thing that was terrible. Creme Brulee Cheese Cake @ $10 Don't waste your money on it. If you like cheese cake, maybe. Overall, our server was awesome. Fries were top notch, lots of drink specials. Awesome atmosphere. Go and say hi to "Big Boy"!

We're visiting Denver and this place had caught my attention because the food looked good and it was rated well. Upon arrival, I was so impressed. The atmosphere is perfect; it's just the right amount of relaxed and lively. I love the decor, the lighting, and the fact that there's plenty of seating. The food was delicious, we got the French onion soup, crispy coconut shrimp, and the braised short rib. Our bartender Stephanie was incredibly friendly and helpful, by far the best bartender I've been attended by in my history of drinking lol. She seemed like such a genuine person, definitely someone who puts care into the what they do. I love that they had pool tables; I'm not the best at pool but it's always enjoyable to play. The choice of music was great and I like that the music itself wasn't too loud so I could still talk and hear my own thoughts. No complaints whatsoever, this place is phenomenal. I would definitely come back here.

Burndown is a one of a kind location. I love the setup. Anytime anyone is looking for good food and drinks, I recommend Burndown! The staff are welcoming and I like the set up to pay before you receive your food order. That way you can leave without waiting on your check. The rooftop is awesome also.

Adding to my review- They have such a fun vibe on the third floor for Christmas! Be sure to make your way up there!! We tried the Steak Frites- it was SO good!! Service is always quick even when they are busy. We love this place and will always come back!

Oh my goodness this place was everything and more. The vibes inside were cool downtown alongside the rooftop bar. The service was great, kind workers and fast pace without rushing you. My favorite thing I ordered here was definitely the GF wrap. Rarely ever do restaurants have GF wraps and this one was amazing. Crispy and fresh.

Really cool space with multiple levels and areas, good food, attentive servers (even during busy game days!) and overall a great place to catch a game! The Silk Suit wasn't quite my flavor (it was a more bitter drink than I usually like) but the Rosemary's Baby's Mule was much more my speed. The Mexican Street Corn Dip wasn't the best I've had, but it was a solid appetizer. The Nachos were excellent, piled-on toppings and a nice kick of heat! The Old Town Burger was good, but a little dry and was sweeter than I would have preferred. Can't complain about any of it, just some of the items weren't my preference and I'll just order some different things next time!

BurnDown's a good place for food or drinks! I've been here about almost 10 times across my time here in Denver, and I can say I've never had a bad time. It does get a bit crowded, but that's to expected of a place people like. I like the idea of multiple levels with the main floor being the closest to the restaurant environment. The food is decent, but on the pricier side. It's a reliable spot for big planned parties and impromptu quick grab of food and drinks. The drinks are pretty good with interesting concepts. A little playful, I like that. Definitely one of the fav spots to go to!

Came here on a Sunday night, and it was my first time coming to this area in a while. I had no problem finding street parking right across the way, which was nice. Inside, they are three floors, but have a loft style build out, making the ceilings so high and the place feel really spacious, with its authentic log cabin and mountain fuel and matching decor. With TVs and comfy seating all over, it's a great place to watch sports, there's also a pool table. I had the blue velvet cocktail, and I'm a sucker for any drink with an egg white, but this was honestly so delicious. I also tried the Elote chips and dip appetizer, but was a little bit disappointed, I felt like the corn really lacked any seasoning. We tried the wings, too, I wasn't as much of a fan of the lemon pepper dry rub, I felt like they were a bit TOO dry, but the garlic Parmesan were really good. Their ranch sauce is also yummy. We also tried one of their burgers and the French dip sandwich, both of them were pretty good, nothing exceptional, but definitely happy with what I expected for bar food. Thanks!

4 levels of food, fun and frolic. Here is my story: Looking for a place to dine and imbibe, my travel partner and I end up at BurnDown. This Establishment consists of 4 levels. I'm sure in the deep of summer, the 4th level can get a bit hot! But likewise during the winter it can be cold and maybe closed because of snow. The food is basically fried, and fried but dressed with a variety of sauces and dressings. Among the several dishes we ordered our favorite was the friend chicken drumettes which is seasoned, dusted in their "BurnDown Rub Style" season rub, then deep fried and served a dipping sauce of your choice. That Rub!!!! If I were a Denver resident and worked close by, BurnDown might become my HH place of refuge... LOL Parking no bueno ! Unless you go after 5:30 pm on the weekdays. DO NOT parkin the shopping area or Sam's Club or you will be towed Moderately priced! Service stable and relatively pleasant Repeat? More than likely if I'm in the area

Great little sports bar, outside seating is always a plus. The fries were good, very well seasoned and crispy. The turkey sandwich was great, the rosemary bread on it made is delicious. The nachos were top notch, very sloppy with toppings soaked through. The corn was also good, not spicy at all but still good. The drinks were okay. Service was attentive and quick.

Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food/drinks. There was a great happy hour menu too from 3-6 and day specials. (1) Coconut shrimp: super delicious and the sauce was perfection! (2) Corn dip: love the concept of this but overall my least favorite dish. Honestly didn't taste like much (3) Buffalo chicken wrap: Heavy on the buffalo sauce but good flavor. Sweet potato fries were delicious too Service was great Draft margarita cocktail was really well balanced and you could taste it actually had alcohol in it, which I like and not typical with draft cocktails. Beautiful views from rooftop deck and has pool. Tons of seating Pretty impressed! Will be back

Upon doing so, you notice they've added two unusual changes -- a 2% "restaurant impact fee" and a 1% "kitchen staffing fee." We were told that the fee helps pay the kitchen staff because the wait staff doesn't share tips with them. We asked to have it removed and were told it cannot be removed. This is a problem based on principle and nothing else. There are costs associated with running a business. Pay your employees properly so that these fees don't need to be added. Be honest about it -- increase the cost of menu items if necessary -- but don't add HIDDEN fees! It makes you look slimy and dishonest. At the very least, remove the fees when your customers don't want to pay them. This really pales our opinion of this place. It's irritating and embarrassing for everyone, including the wait staff who have to explain the fees to the patrons, and in this case, receive a smaller tip.

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.
