We came here to get something slightly healthier than Burger King before a PoGo session. Since we arrived earlier in the morning, parking was available, as I've mostly seen this place entirely full most of the time. The prices were above our budget but it's worth it if I get to try their food. We ate the breakfast since my friend is a breakfast food fan. The food tasted higher quality than cheap fast food. It was breakfast food, which I am not sure they serve all day since their signs were digital. One of their employees socialized with someone else in the front entrance. I think there was only one exit so we had to wait for them to finish their conversation before we could exit. There is a Starbucks PokéStop in the same food court. read more

Parking can be a PITA, especially at lunchtime. We came during the workweek for lunch and were lucky to get a spot. Cars were circling the car park. It's a very popular area for workers and there are a few other eateries next door (burger, fish place and some other things) I didn't have any expectation of this place - except for the 5 star ratings I've seen on Yelp so I wasn't sure what to expect. My husband and I shared the pork torta $9.50ish, the crispy pork $10.50ish and the heirloom tomato salad. Both the sandwiches were absolutely delicious. There was plenty of meat and the flavours were spot on. The salad $5.50 was yummy too. We found seating outside, although it was busy, I presume there's a fast turnover what with people needing to get back to work. First time here, and glad I tried it. For starters, the cashier / server, Myla, was great. Very friendly, with excellent service. Tried the spaghetti grilled cheese was unique, tasty, and well prepared. The side dipping sauce was very flavorful, if a bit (actually a lot) on the spicy side. Also tried the avocado toast, which was well portioned, and balanced ... and, well, good. The strawberry iced tea was good when it was diluted as follows: 1/3 strawberry iced tea with 2/3 water. Came back recently for my beloved Chinese chicken toast but was bummed when they replaced it with the chicken club toast. Don't get me wrong, the chicken club toast was good but I miss the Chinese chicken toast -- please bring it back Burnt Crumbs!! The rye bread was also fresh, had a really good flavor and was nicely toasted. The spicy mustard was a bit too spicy for her, so she used a regular yellow mustard in its stead. The only real gripe would be the worker making her sandwich forgot the house pickle. I was even more impressed with the fried chicken. The biscuit was buttery and flakey and the breast was a really good size. It was nicely fried (maybe a tad dry) and there was a good amount of seasoning. The sriracha honey sauce was awesome with just the right amount of heat and sweet. The potato spread was decent and the only thing I didn't love was the country gravy which I thought was a little bland. The fries were the typical hand cut version with the skin on and a bit soggy. The item which was a huge hit with us was the garlic aioli. The sauce made the fries much more palatable and I wish I would have asked for more. The pricing might be a bit on the high side for the portions, but the quality and flavors really stood out in both sandwiches. My lady and I came here after she had begged me to come and try. The weekend before we were looking at the apartments across the street and we stopped to get a Starbucks and saw this new location and freaked - great location. Outdoor+indoor seating, friendly neighborhood, etc. We ordered the spaghetti grilled cheese, fried chicken sandwich, fries with garlic aioli, and a Blue Moon. The grilled cheese was excellent. It had a kick I was not expecting, but I love spicy so welcomed it, happily. I was not a big fan of the chicken sandwich. It seemed bland to me and the flavors did not stand out to me... kind of like eating a bit of everything off your thanksgiving plate. Great service and delicious food! So who the heck thought spaghetti covered in ooey-gooey cheese stuffed between two slices of bread and grilled up would taste good? I need to buy that man a beer! ;) I admit I was a bit of a skeptic in thinking this was more gimmick than good taste but holy cow, if this sammie didn't win me over! This is a must order if you come here folks...trust me on this one! I also loved the pastrami sandwich which they cure, cook and prepare in-house (you can see them doing it!) - it tasted top notch with just the right amount of fattiness and amazing flavor. Other standouts were the southern fried chicken & biscuit sammie which was cooked perfectly crispy with a tender juicy inside. I'd suggest you get the red sauce on the side though as it was a little too sweet for me and truthfully, when the chicken is this good you don't need anything on it anyways. ;) Other items I tried were the beet salad (yum and a good contrast to our otherwise carb-loaded meal!), the chicken club toast (delish!), the green chile chicken noodle soup (nummy if a tad spicy - just be warned!) & the avocado toast (great cheese! - see below). My least favorite item was prolly the avocado toast - it wasn't bad mind you, and I am a card carrying avocado lover but there was something amiss with this avocado. I'm not sure if they mix it with something else to get it so creamy or if perhaps cuz it is December the avocado was just not quite at it's prime but it tasted a smidge 'off'. The cheese on top was another story... that ricotta was sinful! Someone mentioned they make it in house which would explain why I literally was licking it off the toast while avoiding the avocado.;) Next time maybe I'll just say HOLD the avocado and gimme a ricotta toast! I also have to mention the sweet tea. I don't drink sodas and usually steer away from anything 'sweetened' as I almost always find it too sweet, even if it's not to others. The tea here is actually sweetened with a fruit puree - they have two options (strawberry & peach) which they are more than happy to combine for you which is what I did. It was delicious - just the right amount of sweetness with a great fresh taste. I really enjoyed it and would actually pop by here just to pick one up in the future! All in all I had a great experience here and would definitely come back! The service was stellar - super friendly, quick and attentive. Pretty awesome place. I'm a big fan of Burntzilla, so I was happy when Burnt Crumbs finally opened up in the Los Olivos marketplace. Burnt Crumbs is also part of the FiveStar rewards, so you can earn free drinks, sides etc. Pastrami - dude, this is seriously the most tender soft, delicious pastrami ever. My only issue with the default sandwich is that the spicy mustard is TOO spicy for me. If you don't do spicy, I would tell them to omit the spicy mustard, and add regular mustard instead. Southern Fried Chicken - This is really similar to Burntzilla's Fried Chicken Slider. The only difference is that it has a yummy sriracha honey sauce and it's served between a biscuit instead of a Hawaiian roll. Crispy Pork - I appreciate that they were thinking outside the box on this creation with addition of the chicharrones, but the flavors here were very underwhelming. 7/7/17 Update: just wanted to acknowledge a change of heart since Burnt Crumbs has drastically changed the flavors of the crispy pork since my first review and OMG it is amazing and my favorite off the menu now. I've had it twice since the change and noticed so much more flavor! Addicting. Try it. Spicy Meatball - Oh Jesus, this is too spicy for me. But if you like spicy, you may enjoy this. So happy to see them snag this great location (plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and parking) and expand from their Burntzilla concept. Small, yet customized menu, savory sandwich choices, superb service (as always!), modern and hip location, and a clean environment seal the deal. I always love when the employees and staff run this place with passion and consistency, and it really carries over to the food. I decided to try out the Spaghetti Grilled Cheese after some deliberation over the menu. I almost tried the fried chicken sandwich, but since this is my fave choice at their sister store I decided to branch out and change it up. It was sinfully rich and filling, delectable and satisfying. Who wouldn't enjoy two favorites being combined? And their spicy marinara dipping sauce elevates it to a higher level. I would never normally think to order a spaghetti grilled cheese sandwich but it was more delicious that I could have imagined and it makes total sense. Two pieces of garlic bread with spaghetti bolognese and mozzarella cheese, how could you go wrong? Then their Fried Chicken Sandwich is the best I've ever had. I heard about this place via Instagram and I got there classic spaghetti grilled cheese and southern fried chicken with mash potato sandwich. Both sandwiches were cooked perfectly and was crunchy and well seasoned. The location is super clean and super modern. Open kitchen with TVs and the wait wasn't too bad. This is the sister restaurant to Burntzilla, the burnt truck, and Dogzilla. All places I like but don't necessarily crave. I'm not sure why I thought my reaction would be different for Burnt Crumbs. The food here is beautiful looking and hits all the boxes when It comes to my fave ingredients, but sadly it's just average tasting. I had the chicken club toast and kale salad. The chicken club toast is a beautiful toasted slice of artisan bread generously slathered with chicken salad, spotted with smashed avocado, tomato jam, and a tidbits of fried (pork?) skin. There's also some bacon bits sprinkled on top but they don't really add anything to the flavor. The star of this dish is the tomato jam, but it seems wasted on this particular sandwich. This jam would be great on their toasts with burrata and avacado with balsamic. The rest of the sandwich I could take it or leave it. Same goes for the kale salad. Beautiful looking with components that made my mouth water upon reading the menu. Sadly, it's very one note. It needs a better, stronger, more flavorful dressing, like a balsamic or champagne vinegarette. As I'm sitting here, I notice everyone ordering the chicken sandwich. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing? Ok, I know I was bit hard on this place. I want to leave this as a positive review. This is a great place for a fresh lunch or dinner with beautiful food. I came here for lunch the other week and tried the chicken club toast! I initially came to try the chinese chicken salad toast, but they were no longer offering it the day that I came in. They had just added the chicken club toast that day. I really enjoyed my toast. It was a little too salty at times, but I still enjoyed it. I would come back and get it again. The presentation was beautiful. I loved that they added little pieces of crunchy stuff on top. It added great texture to the toast. I was very happy to see avocado on it too! There is jam on the toast... sounds weird... but it was DELICIOUS. The jam went really well with all the ingredients. I was most excited for the parts with the jam. I actually thought it was some kind of tomato/pasta sauce... but after looking back at the menu I saw that it was actually jam. The service here was spectacular. Spaghetti Grilled Cheese. I was determined to get this... until I realized we had a 6.5 hr drive to Mammoth that evening and the last thing I want is to get a food coma while driving. So I passed on that and decided to get the next best thing... the CHICKEN BISCUIT SANDWICH (so good!) and we also got the CRISPY PORK SANDWICH (so good! It's so great when a food truck is able to put down roots with a brick-and-mortar. I am a huge fan of the Burnt Truck... It was my go-to Thursday lunch at the fairgrounds for over a year. However, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food at Burnt Crumbs. We were in the area on Sunday and stopped in about 30 minutes before closing. Fiance ordered the spaghetti grilled cheese and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. We ended up swapping half of our sandwiches and splitting the small order of fries. The fried chicken sandwich with Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Garlic Potato Spread, Country Gravy, and Sriracha Honey, on a Biscuit was the best part of the meal. I wished I could have my other half back, instead of eating the bland spaghetti grilled cheese. Sure, the marinara was a little spicy, but it seemed spicy just to be spicy, not to add flavor. The bread was burnt (I guess I should have expected this) and hard while the spaghetti was mushy. It just didn't satisfy and seemed more like a sandwich you just order because it was cool for awhile on social media. Parking was easy, since it is in a large shopping center and the dining room was clean. We ended up leaving about 3 minutes before they closed, but didn't feel rushed by the staff (although they were starting their closing cleaning).
