Our first time here! My bestie and I came here on 2/24 for an early dinner. This place was absolutely outstanding! We were welcomed by a friendly girl with blonde hair (forgot her name) and she gave us suggestions on what to get. My bestie and I ordered the grilled cheese spaghetti sandwich. Who ever came up with that idea is freakin brilliant! It tasted amazing! I highly recommend that sandwich. It has a little spicy hit to it, so just a little warning. It came with a side of marinara sauce but i enjoyed it already without the sauce. We also ordered French fries which were pretty good as well, not too salty. We will defiantly be coming back and next time I have to try that Peanut butter jelly banana melt! read more

When i first saw this menu I thought 'it sounds like some people got high and created these sandwiches for sh*ts and giggles...." That may or may not be true but the creations are pretty epic. My coworker and I both ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the spaghetti grilled cheese. Spaghetti grilled cheese - worth trying once, and only once. The texture really got to me....the softness of the spaghetti was just too much for me paired with the bread. The flavors were good but you definitely need the side of tomato sauce Fried Chicken Sandwich - HHNNNGGG I still dream about this sandwich. It's a large piece of perfectly fried chicken AND mashed potatoes on a large biscuit. Honestly, I couldn't even eat the top of the biscuit because it was just so much food. The chicken is juicy, well fried and perfectly seasoned. There's a sweetish sauce that just balances the whole sandwich out. It's around $9 a sandwich and i think it's definitely worth it. I can't wait to try their other sandwiches! read more

Actual: 3.5/5 Normally, I'm not one to gravitate towards sandwiches/burgers unless it's lunchtime. Burnt Crumbs has been bookmarked on my list for a while and since we were in area shopping at the Spectrum, I thought why not. Parking was packed since this is a popular eating spot despite the large amount of space. Burnt Crumbs has large tables/bar style seating instead of your typical sit-down tables. Since we came towards the beginning of the dinner rush, we were able to snag a spot. This is fast-casual dining, so you order at the register and seat yourself. I would say the pricing is on the mid-end for a sandwich shop. Expect to pay $10-15 for a meal. -Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich (4/5): The biscuits (= the buns) were dry, but were balanced by the potato spread. The fried chicken wasn't crispy, but was juicy and nicely seasoned. This is the first time I've had mashed potato in a sandwich instead of on the side. I guess this is their attempt to make fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and biscuit to be more finger-food like. Incredibly messy and we ended up eating it with a fork and knife. Didn't taste any spiciness and it's supposed to have sriracha honey? I think the price is worth the generous size. -Hand cut fries with garlic aioli (5/5): Thick-cut fries, but not mushy. Super crispy. Loved the garlic aioli and started to dip parts of our sandwich in it. -Pork Belly Torta (2/5): Did not like this one at all. The pork belly wasn't too fatty and is a nice cut. Flavorless pork belly and almost gamey because they don't marinade it or season it well. The bread and pork belly was BURNT (pun not intended). We noticed this when trying to split the sandwich. Biting into a burnt sandwich is messy and not a pleasant taste at all. I liked the guacamole, but the panela cheese was rubbery. Not melted and it was reminiscent of cafeteria cheese. Overall: I think the concept is very simple when you don't want to grab regular fast food. While this place doesn't look like it'll be in my regular rotation, I think I'd invite friends to eat here for a simple lunch-time get together. read more

Plenty of outdoor seating, inside was super clean. We were all really happy with our food! I wish there were more options, but we all found something we liked. The kids all got grilled cheeses and were happy with them, suuuuper cheesy. I LOVED the crane asada fries and turkey sandwich and hubby really liked his Nashville hot chicken sandwich. read more

Came here to pick up a quick breakfast with my coworkers, and the staff got us in and out very fast! I've been wanting to try the Soufflé Pancakes for a while, but I ended up ordering the Spicy Korean Pork Belly sandwich instead. Guys... this sandwich was so good!! Definitely don't overlook it when you're choosing from the menu. I also got a Vietnamese Coffee that was perfect for a busy work day, but I just wish it was a little bit sweeter. Nonetheless, it's still on my bucket list to come back and try the Soufflé Pancakes so I can update my review! read more

Their new weekend brunch is amazing! The pancake souffle is unique and delicious. The potatoes are cripsy and flavorful. The every favorite Avocado toast is always perfection and the egg that comes with it was cooked perfectly. And the breakfast sangria - cheers! I would put this food up against any of the more expensive brunch places. Was really impressed with the servers. They are friendly and attentive and go above and beyond to please the customers - not something I've experienced at restaurants of this type. They went out of their way to fill my dog's water bowl. Left a big fat tip! Thanks for a great experience and rest assured we will be back frequently. read more

I ordered the turkey sandwich with hand cut fries as a take out. They told me it should be ready within 10 minutes, but when I showed up a good 15 min later it was still not ready, then I still had to wait for no more than 10 more minutes I would say. $5 for fries that are nothing special with no toppings is a bit high. The sandwich did not have Dijon sauce inside as advertised in the menu. It had a decent amount of turkey, but I had to pay extra for Swiss cheese. The bread on the sandwich was good, but to be honest it was definitely on the dry side. I only ate half of the sandwich and a little bit of the fries which also a strong oily taste. I didn't think it was worth $16... Maybe the other stuff on the menu taste better? I don't know, i guess I'll have to find out. read more

Ok, wasn't sure on star rating as I am unsure. Place was packed. Waited 15 minutes to get in and everyone said awesome food. Plus looking at the size of the food and how it looked.. well wow. So we finally get in and not too much on Sundays menu, but enough choices, but as usual I can't ever decide. Well I finally get the shredded beef with their chips instead of fries and bf gets the Louisiana chicken sandwich..? Well I am not a fan of spicy.. sorry people, I am just not.. well ask if sandwich had a spice to it and as normal, no.. but I am seriously sensitive to spice as 99.9% of the world is not! So get it, looks great, we chose to sit outside, bad idea.. it's like the movie "Birds!" There was poop on chairs, ground, tables, railings... and birds all over tables. As soon as our food came out they actually jumped on our table!!! So we were able to get a seat inside.... well, by that time it was cold. My sandwich was spicy and I was just done... there pancake's were really good! Got the berry one. Sweet so we took rest home.... I would go back, I don't wanna say it was horrible because of my experience, I am sure "hopefully) my food will be warmer if I can get to it on time. And now know inside to eat. Innovative dishes and friendly service! The spaghetti grilled cheese had an amazing crunch because the sourdough was grilled into an extra crispy. It was complimented really well with the gooeyness from both the mozzarella and the spaghetti! What really made the fried chicken biscuit shine was the honey siracha, it give he biscuit the sweetness it needed and gave the chicken a tang. Lastly, you can't go wrong wth thick cut fries (not as salty or oily as other places) with the garlic aioli. Overall, really good food and friendly service. Definitely with trying to see what all the hype is all about! read more

Came here for Brunch for the first time. They have an all new Brunch menu, open saturdays and sundays from 8am-2pm. Ive been to this location for lunch several times and I wanted to try it out. I ordered the Avocado Toast and the Strawberry Cream Suffle Pancakes. The Avocado toast was great, lots of avocado, ricotta and a fried egg on top. The micro greens add a nice touch. The pancakes were alright in my opinion. The pancake itself wasn't too flavorful but I like the consistency, more eggy and fluffy than a normal pancake. The strawberry cream and sauce around it was good but I wish I had more of it since the pancake itself didn't taste like much. It's a little on the costly side but still worth a try. Came out very quickly. read more

Got the famed spaghetti sandwich from here today. The bread was so hard, I was afraid to bite into it at the risk of losing my teeth. The bread was black on every piece of the sandwich. I ended up eating 5 bites of the spaghetti and throwing it away. So, I paid $20 for fries and a drink. This sandwich would be much better on a lightly-toasted hoagie roll. Woulda asked them to remake it but the line had gotten a few people deep by that time and I couldn't wait. The employees were really nice tho. read more

Ordered for pickup Saturday July 23rd on Breakfast fried rice and original soufflés. I waited on the soufflés where they make it at the corner. The lady who made the soufflés put my order in a plate then realized it's a pickup order. Took a box and picked up my soufflés with her barehands without using some gloves. I can't believe it ! what she did I almost returned it and make me a new one but got no time to wait for another 15 minutes. read more

Our first time here, highly recommended. We had a big party at the patio. 36 people! FOOD The portion is GREAT! Tasty but not salty, fresh, served in perfect temperature. We tried: - spaghetti sandwiches and kids love it. Yeah not just 2-3 kids but we had like 24 teens said it. - mac n cheese. This is not like your regular mac n cheese. Nobody can refuse it. - beef n cheddar sandwiches. 5 adults said they are big portions and so good. - french fries. More than enough. - Caesar salad. So fresh and delicious. STAFF - super friendly and helpful - engage with customers - beyond expectations VENUE - nice patio with comfortable seating - outdoor heaters help during cold season - clean and smell good OVERALL - we would like to come back Thank you Burnt Crumbs for giving our kids a great experience! read more

My "elite bff" brought me here for lunch. I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you the parking situation at this location is bloody hell at lunchtime. Moving on... we were warmly greeted by the cashier- I'd be lying if I told you her name. I'll call her Jennifer. I tried the Spaghetti Grilled Cheese, with fries. The seating at this location is ample and quite nice inside at the high tops. So... sandwich??? NO. Sandwich is what you call a boring meal stuffed between bread. This my friends was what happens when spaghetti has sex with mozzarella in a panini with Parmesan toast. Then, add the zing of spicy marinara to cut the rich flavor. If you're looking to boost your triglycerides while enjoying the - dare I say- dopest sandwich of all time, this is it. Wash it down with a tasty Dr Pepper and all that was bad in the world disappears. Next time I'll be trying the avocado toast. They did have beer on draft which I can picture going well with some dishes but this was a working lunch with an elite. Now...off for a 14 hour work out. read more

I had the spaghetti grilled cheese. I had the buy one get one free (thought it was just free with the app). I have been wanting to try this place, however, I think it has a little too much hype. The sandwich had a great crunch to it on the outside but that was it. Nothing wow. It was actually salty. My bf agreed with me too. Fries were okay (definitely fresh but a bit salty for my taste as well. Great friendly service though. Ashame. Really wanted to possibly be a regular like I am at Burntzilla. read more

Just wanted to say how much my husband and I enjoyed the food at Burnt Crumbs. Everything tasted delicious . The staff were super polite and friendly. I loved the outdoor seating. Perfect place to enjoy our California weather. I had the omelette with carnitas. I thought my husband was going to help me eat the omelette. He is more of a fan of carnitas than I but it was good. I would have had the omelette without carnitas only because I prefer veggies to meat in my omelettes, but still delicious. He had the scrambled with bacon and cheese on brioche, loved it! It was all quality with great flavor. Coffee was solid Then the strawberry light jiggle cloud of a pancake was absolutely delicious . So enjoyable to eat! It was a lot of food but we really wanted to try the pancake and it did not disappoint. In fact, it's a must!!! I haven't seen anyone else serve this! Enjoy read more

Ok, so I bumped up my rating here from 4 to 4.5 stars because after eating my leftovers, I wanted more. Plenty of parking spots in Los Olivos Marketplace. Eight of us got together last week to try just about everything on their menu. We had the opportunity to meet one of the owners, Minh. He excitedly explained their vision of providing modern comfort food with a twist. With The Burnt Truck and Burntzilla already under their belts, they opened two brick and mortar establishments, one in Huntington Beach, the other one here, in Irvine. We shared the following: Crispy Pork with chili lime mayo and chicharrones on Ciabatta. 11-Day Pastrami with spicy mustard on Rye. Fried Chicken with gravy, sriracha honey on house biscuit. Spaghetti Grilled Cheese with meat sauce, mozzarella on sourdough bread. Avocado Toast with riccota cheese (salty). Beet Salad with arugula, goat cheese, pepitas, toasted bread crumbs with toasted brown rice pebbles in citrus vinaigrette. Mmm, a must-try! Hand Cut Fries, similar to In and Out but with garlic aioli dipping sauce (unsalted). Sweet Tea with Peach Purée for only $3? So worth it! What stood out for me the most was their beet salad! A great mixture of different flavors and textures pulled together nicely. The salad complimented well with our sandwiches. I felt most of the items were a bit on the salty side so the salad tamed it down. 11-Day Pastrami, oh man, thick slices of meat that fell apart. So delicious! Can I have it on your sourdough bread next time? I wasn't a fan of the spaghetti grilled cheese but the sourdough bread was amazing! The fried chicken on house biscuit wasn't amazing until I had eaten my leftovers. Seriously, I didn't appreciate the garlic potato spread in between the chicken and biscuit until the next day. I wanted more. Most of their items had a bit of a kick, which I enjoyed very much. My only concern goes out to those who cannot tolerate the heat. I am a fan of Burnt Crumbs in Irvine with great hospitality but the nearest one to me at this time is the Huntington Beach location. I'm looking forward to hitting up that location soon! read more

ENVIRONMENT: This restaurant is located in a pretty busy plaza, right next to Starbucks! It's the perfect lunch spot and each sandwich is very filling.. The staff is very welcoming and suggested some of their popular sandwiches to me since it was my first time! FOOD: I got the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Crispy Pork Sandwich. I highly recommend these two sandwiches! The biscuit to the fried chicken sandwich is so fluffy and they give you a pretty big piece of chicken! As for the crispy pork sandwich, the pork is stacked pretty high!! Flavoring definitely reminds me of the crispy Asian pork haha. PRICE: All the sandwiches range from $9-$9.50. OVERALL: Food is filling and it's the perfect spot when you need to grab a quick lunch! read more

So unique! This was my first time going to any of the Burnt restaurants. I haven't tried The Burnt Truck or Dogzilla yet, but my experience here definitely made me curious. Our cashier was very friendly too! There's also Yelp check-in for a free drink. Came with a coworker for lunch and we ordered the: + 11-Day Pastrami Sandwich ($9.50): SO GOOD! We substituted this sandwich to be on ciabatta bread rather than rye. Next time, I want to try it on sourdough as well. The pastrami was surprisingly very high quality and tender to bite into. + Crispy Pork Sandwich ($9.50): Wasn't a huge fan of this sandwich. The chili verde and salsa lime mayo didn't really mesh well with my taste buds. But my coworker liked it! + Hand-Cut Fries ($5): The garlic aioli they serve with the fries is BOMB. I asked for more cause it was so tasty. The fries themselves were a bit too oily for me. They weren't crispy but were very fried and had a texture as if they were being fried for too long. + Sweet Tea: REALLY GOOD! Highly recommend. There's real tiny, tiny fruit bits in the sweet tea. It's delicious! Overall, Burnt Crumbs is an awesome restaurant! I want to try their Avocado Toast as well :) read more

I have been craving the spaghetti grilled cheese for days now and finally came to get it It's always my favorite. I came to the Irvine location today and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service I received from Goose the second I walked in, he greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm about my order, he seemed to think a had ordered a good sandwich which I was super excited about. I enjoyed the food and upon me leaving my earbud had fell out of my ear, It had fallen onto the plate and without me realizing the server had come by to take my plate from the table but also taking my earbud along with it. When I realized my earbud was missing and might have been thrown in the trash by accident I asked Goose if he could help me to check the trash can to see if it had fallen in, I felt awful asking someone to dig through trash to help find something for me but he was willing to help me look through it and did it without hesitation. He even took the time to help me clean it once he found it with sanitizer and make sure it was in good condition to give back to me. It's easy to make good food but it's not always easy to find good service along with it and today I did and was super grateful. Goose deserves a high five and maybe even a raise for how great of service he provided me today. read more

This place is a nice food spot to come to if you're looking for some casual food. It's located next to a starbucks and boba place across the parking lot. I ordered the Carne Asada fries and it was quite delicious! Although, the fries was a smaller portion than what I had expected. The staff was nice and informative. Overall, I would recommend coming here ! read more

This place is worth every single penny! The spaghetti grilled cheese was absolutely amazing. The portions are huge! We also had the macaroni and cheese and the fries with the garlic aioli on the side.. so dang good. Not only is the food unlike anywhere else, but the staff is also so friendly and so attentive. Everyone working was so kind and happy, the owner (I think) even came out to make conversation. Highly recommend this place!! read more

I had been wanting to try this place since it opened up and it definitely did not disappoint! I got the infamous spaghetti grilled cheese and my friend got the meatball sandwich (in which we both ended up sharing half of our sandwiches with each other). We also got fries to share. Tbh, the sandwiches themselves were pretty filling. We probably could've gone without the fries. Haha. The spaghetti sandwich was decadently good, but I think I liked the meatball one better. It had great flavors. I believe the meatball one is only at the Irvine location. Overall, everything was good read more

Burnt Crumbs was the perfect place for a unique sandwich bite! The Crispy pork sandwich was a great twist on a pulled pork sandwich! I found it to be very filling and was only able to eat about half, generous portion of pork. My partner had the Cali burger, he loved all the avocado that came on it. Overall, would definitely recommend! read more

I have been meaning to visit Burnt Crumbs at the Los Olivos Marketplace since seeing all those spaghetti grilled cheese photos popping all over Instagram. This is their second location in OC with the first located at Pacific City in Huntington Beach. As with most brick & mortar restaurants evolved from a food truck, the ordering is upfront and they will bring your food to you. This is a more grown-up version of comfort foods you know and love. I ordered the spaghetti grilled cheese ($9) and a sweet tea ($3) with peach puree. They utilize the Five Stars rewards system which you can sign up for free. The tea was made to order and they gave me a number to bring to my table while I waited. My friend ordered the 11-day pastrami sandwich and a regular beverage. I met Minh, the owner, during my visit and he was so welcoming and nice. He is one of the guys behind the Burnt Truck which still sells sliders. He saw that we had swapped half of our sandwiches and immediately brought out an additional cup of marinara for my friend's half of the spaghetti grilled cheese. Let me just say, wow. These sandwiches are on point. They are so good! My spaghetti grilled cheese was phenomenal. It was CRUNCHY and gooey. The marinara had a spiced up kick. I loved every bite and immediately regretted sharing. I took a bite of the pastrami sandwich and man, those thick cuts of pastrami were so tender and delicious. I didn't even mind the mustard or the rye. Did you know they make all the bread in-house? They make the pastrami in-house which takes 11 days to brine and cure. That's some food love for you. My sweet tea was probably a little too sweet for me. I think next time I'll ask just for the fruit puree and not any of the syrup or maybe half the syrup. Service was great and they kept asking us if we needed anything. If you are in need of some comfort food, this place is where you want to be. Both pancakes and coffees are yummy, although coffee is a little bit on the sweeter and stronger side, if your not used to Vietnamese coffee, this might be too strong for you. My friend was happy with his breakfast burrito too, saying it was packed with flavor. I had higher hopes for the breakfast sausage sandwich, though. The meat didn't taste quite right and looked a bit undercooked, almost like it was a burger patty rather than a sausage. It was a bit of a letdown. The line was long to order but it was worth it! We came here for breakfast/lunch. First of all the people that work here are so lovely. Like genuinely cared about me and what I needed. I really felt like they treated me like an old friend. I had the avocado toast with bacon and ricotta. The sourdough wheat bread was very flavorful. My son had the souffle pancakes with mixed berry compote with a side of eggs and bacon. We also had the fried chicken biscuit sandwich which was legit. Crispy chicken, fresh huge biscuit. It's an order and sit down place. Basically no indoor seating. People were waiting for other people to get up from shaded seats. The food here is good, but not mind-blowing. It's solid, though, so you really can't complain. The biggest downside is the lack of indoor seating, so be prepared to sit outside unless you're lucky. As for the coffee, it's not really my thing -- I usually head to the Starbucks just down the street for my caffeine fix. The food can be a bit on the dry side, so definitely make use of the salsas to help add some flavor. Portion sizes are decent, though. One thing to note is the service -- it's pretty minimal. You order at the counter, find a table, and wait for your food. A few times, they've forgotten utensils, so you have to get up and get them yourselves. read more

A staff member rudely asked us to clear our own plates, even though no other table was asked to do this. This resulted in my spouse spilling liquids all over her bag. I was one of those annoying people who brought their laptops to work, but even then nobody really rushed me or gave me any attitude. We enjoyed two towering Strawberry Soufflé Pancakes, Avocado Toast, Breakfast Sausage, scrambled eggs, and crispy Home Fried Potatoes. I recently tried the carne asada salad at this place, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. The star of the show, though, was the amazing waitress, Cesiah. Her service was outstanding - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. My nephews chicken and waffles was the last dish to be served - the chicken was over cooked and dry. The waffle was like a cardboard. The 2 noodle dishes that were ordered were the best dishes at our table. Definately skip the American brunch dishes and order something Thai from the menu.
