Since my first review I have gone to this place maybe a dozen times. I get that they specialize in small burritos. sThe problem is consistency and what you get for the price. Watery deshebrada, half full salsa containers with the chips and salsa for $5 or whatever it is, birria con todo with very little birria....the consistency is not there. Not to mention the mistakes where you flat out get different burritos than you ordered. Management needs to weed out the cooks that don't care about what they are putting out. read more

I first learned about this place on IG, and I finally got around to trying it. Loooooove this place. I found my new spot for authentic mex food. The tortillas are just to die for. I got the Platillo Especial. It kind of reminded me of enchiladas (see pic for reference). It also somewhat remimded me of Taco Bell burritos if they were Michelin level good. I've been wanting to try Burritos La Palma for years so I was really excited to see I was not only nearby this new Orange County location but that it wasn't packed like I've seen the LA spots can get. I came here with my wife and since they suggested 2-3 burritos per person, we opted to try one of each (I'm glad they did because 1 would not fill you up. You really do need to get at least 2). Being able to run the entire lineup really gave us a perfect taste of the whole restaurant. Right off the bat, the tortillas are fantastic. Some of the best I've ever had. A perfect blend of both bite & chew. The light toast on them from the cooking process blends with the internal fillings to give it a nice little elevation. If they sold just the tortillas, I'd buy a ton & freeze them so I could also elevate my home burrito game. As far as the flavors go, there really weren't any that we absolutely hated. I will say that the chicharron one was both of our least favorite. Maybe I was expecting a more crunchy meat, but the slimey, seemly only steamed meat just gave the burrito a texture that I personally didn't like. Once I took the meat out & just tasted things with the other seasonings, I liked thing much better. I also thought that the bean & cheese burrito wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. The previously mentioned tortilla was the star of that flavor for sure. Instead, just get the 'con todo' so you get the bean, cheese, and amazingly flavorful birria. That was my second favorite. To me, the star was the chicken & chipotle burrito. It was just amazing. I could've eaten a stack of those. So, in all, 5 out of 6 being delicious is a fantastic average. I need to go back because I heard their quesadillas are also top notch. Interior is warm and inviting. Everything is clean and open. The staff is fantastic. The woman working the register did a great job welcoming us and talking about their style of burritos once we told her it was our first time. In all, Burritos La Palma is a very unassuming grand slam of a burrito spot. If you're in the area, you're doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by. We ate there on 6/12/2026. The chicken meat was very dry on the chicken tacos and the cheese tasted cheap with a plastic taste. The plastic taste may have come from the packaging or the chemicals that were used to preserve it. The meat on our carnitas burritos was so dry it was hard to chew. It must have been standing in the heat tray for hours or days. With so many great Mexican restaurants in Southern California I will never eat there again. I hope Pepe's not so fine food reads this and works on their quality. We still have most of our burritos in the fridge. And can't figure out what to do with them. Oh how this restaurant nails burritos for the simplicity of a burrito- love how saucy the birria, queso and frijoles burrito was. The kids loved the queso and frijoles and hubby ordered the birria and chicharron. The chips were delish too, not oily at all! The service was impeccable. We were asked multiple times throughout our meal if we needed anything and loved how clean the whole place was. Loved how there was plenty of seating inside and outside and parking in abundance. So I am going to start this off by saying the taste is ever so slightly different that the Bristol location but despite that it is still tasty!! My instinct tells me there is a difference in the beans but I could be wrong. To me hygiene is the #1 thing that will make me like a place or feel like I could never go back. At this location, they place the receipts on top of the burritos. I wish I had asked my burritos to go, so at least it could have been wrapped, but unfortunately I didn't and they placed it on top of my burritos. That's so gross. read more

Came on a Saturday night an hour before closing and it wasn't too busy at the time. I got 3 burritos: Birria, Deshebada, and Con Todo which came out to $16 and some change after tax. The deshebada has shredded beef in green chile and potato. The Con Todo is birria with refried beans and cheese. They're very simple burritos with not much ingredients but they tasted pretty good because of the quality of the ingredients. From the tortilla to the meat, the good quality is all you're tasting. I know this may sound like a bad thing, but they remind me a lot of Taco Bell burritos but in a good way with much better quality. 3 burritos were good enough but I could've easily eaten 4 burritos since I was really hungry. We were greeted right away by Daniel, and after letting him know it was our first visit, he took the time to recommend some of their favorites--and wow, were they spot on. I am not sure if it's because I ordered the wrong items, which were a tinga burrito and a beef and potatoes burrito, but I was not impressed. The salsa that came with the burritos were so watery and barely had any flavor. When I added the salsa to my burritos, they just came leaking out of the burritos so it was a messy eat. The burritos were also quite small and for the price and quality, I'm disappointed. I don't hate them, but I'm not sure if Burritos La Palma will cross my mind the next time I crave a burrito. This location gave you more salsa if needed so that was a plus compared to other locations which are stingy and give you only 1 of the smallest container for 1 burrito. Super fast and awesome service. The tiny burritos are perfect in terms of proportion of meat and just wrapped in a yummy tortilla. One little burrito is more like a taquito so I usually order two other top three. The chicken Tinga is my favorite! Their seats inside if interested in staying in the restaurant and their seats outside as well. Parking is so easy because it's in a plaza.
