Literally every single piece of pork in my burrito had a disgusting I'm not even sure what to call it, like muscle or whatever, something white and chewy and I almost threw up eating it. When I say every single piece of pork, I mean EVERY SINGLE PIECE! It was so gross, and then the cheese was awful. I don't know how burritos can be so bad but this place figured out a way to screw up burritos. On top of everything the workers are not friendly and actually kind of rude. Another one of my local favorites, the food is "great" in comparison to what I've tried at other places, and the flan is definitely THE best. There is room for improvement such as keeping the tables tidy is one biggy! Burritoville Cafe is your average taqueria. It has typical choices tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tostadas, tortas, etc. They make all their salsas in house which is great! I always go for the spicy pico de gallo, has the most citrus and flavor to me. Typically when I go into a taqueria I always have to try their carnitas super burrito so that's what I ordered. A super burrito comes with your choice of meat, beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I am allergic to avocados so I always ask for my guacamole on the side but this time I think they missed that step. When I got my burrito the guacamole was no where to be seen and was afraid that it might be in the burrito. I took a chance and took it home to go, I checked my burrito by cutting it in half and thank god no guac but still failed to put it on the side for me. Finally took a bite into my burrito and the carnitas were totally DRY ans very stringy. I don't think they cooked the carnitas very well then also left it out to turn into jerky. I braced myself to eat the rest only because I was hungry! I hear good things about their burger, maybe i'll just try that next time. read more

Our household visits Burritoville at least 2-3x per week. Why? It's within walking distance to our house and it's reasonably priced. Not that easy to find here in Larkspur. Burritos are excellent - good choices of meat, tortilla, etc. Eat in or take out. Bueno!! read more

I am from Southern California where California burritos are sold at every taqueria so when I saw that they make them I had to try it! I must say I was very impressed with the quality and taste. Sorry to say it ain't what it used to be, I think it has changed owners. If you are new to the place you may be ok with it, but for me not so much. I miss the quality of the food and the people that used to be there. After being a regular there every weekend for many years and buying burritos for the workers I find that I cannot continue to support the new regime. Though the burrito I had last night was a little bland, they are generally pretty good and tough to beat bang for the buck. They are quick, conveniently located and have a good variety. If you're from southern california this may not cut it for you, but it's certainly a lot better than most of the taquerias in marin county. We ordered the Fajita Burrito, Mojado burrito, mexican fries, and large tamarindo drink. Burritos: pretty good taste, and filling, but for the price I expect the burritos to be bigger. Although I had ordered the Mojado burrito spicy and it was barely hot. Also we asked for the green sauce which I thought was just okay, we'll have to try the red sauce next time. Salsa was good, but I'm surprised they charge for chips. Mexican Fries: nice texture, slightly crispy, not too greasy, but nicely seasoned. I was a bit confused about the way they listed the food items on the paper menu. Some of the dishes they offer you the option of making it a taco, burrito or tostada and list all these different prices. So I went ahead and tried to make the mojado burrito a tostada and they told me that was possible even though it listed that option on the menu. Will come back to try the Gigante Burrito and maybe even a burger with my hubby since it is close to us. Although I'm used to bigger sizes, better tasting burritos and lower prices at places like Taqueria Cancun in SF, or La burrito in Berkeley. I guess this is what is expected in Marin. read more

The place has the freshest food in Marin - as far as Mexican taquerias go. Really great salsa and chips, burritos and AWESOME tacos. It's one of the few mexican places around that won't make you feel ill after you eat there. Nothing is too greasy, or gross looking and the meats and veggies all feel fresh. What can I say, we go here ALL the time and it will be a sad sad day if they ever close. The only minor complain I would have is that sometimes it gets cold in there... it's not really a sit down kind of place, just a quick bite to eat. And, on certain days it seems to attract a whole heard of babysitters with kids and soccer moms with their tribes... on those days, they are great for takeout! :) read more

I don't know what it is but it keeps me coming back, over and over, and over, and over. My favorite meal is simple: 1 soft taco, chips/salsa (sometimes nachos/black beans), and a medium drink (which I share with my gf). This place is consistently terrible, do not waste your time, appetite or money going here. Probably OK for high school / middle school crowd that needs a place to hang. The service is horrible and you never know what you will get. The prices are so expensive. Assuming they do get your order right, you will be underwhelmed by the quality or flavor of food. The so-called Carne Asada had the texture of old-@&& liver that had been stashed under the chair pillow at your Tia's house when you were five. Well...I read the previous reviews and couldnt disagree more! This place is really bad when it comes to taquerias. Im thinking most of the reviewers are happy with blan boring mexican food. I, however, am used to real mexican food and this place doesnt cut the mustard. I knew right away when I spoke with the middleastern man taking the money that it wasnt going to be authentic. The salsa is very typically prepared like those in the middle east. They serve salsa with thick chunks of cucumber and with little flavor. They miss entirely on the traditional flavors of green chilies, cilantro, onion and lime. The grilled meats have no flavor and you can find soft tacos with chees and tomato....not how they are served in mexico with cilantro and onion. If they want to put a middle eastern spin on the food then serve middle eastern food. Mexican food has its distinct flavors and traditions. This resturant is one step up from taco bells americanized take on latin food. The prices were hefty for burritos. 9.00 for the usual and 11 plus for platters. Pass this place up for ANY other tacquiera in Marin. Im positive anyone can do better. read more

Oh dear lord Burritoville! Have mercy on us Larkspur folks! You know we have no other taqueria for miles. You know you are totally working this and your blah food would put you out of business if there were even a Taco Bell nearby. I have had enough - so I'm leaving this review in hopes that someone will read this and raise your game. Your burritos are passable for elementary school kids leaving soccer practice and your service is almost always friendly, but aside from that, this is the most gringo, least palatable Mexican food I've ever had and I'm a native Californian with a grandmother from Mexico. Check out the chips and salsa we got with our order in this photo. The chips are prepackaged - probably from Costco or somewhere cheaper - and the pico de gallo "salsa" in the plastic containers for to-go orders is so tasteless and old that the cilantro is that brownish green color of overcooked pesto. I swear, Burritoville, you could raise your prices $5 dollars a burrito if you would just make food with fresh ingredients like almost every other restaurant in Larkspur. Or for gosh sake's, walk over to Luckys and get a fresh bag of chips to serve with your food. They have fresh cilantro too. To whoever owns Burritoville, please come down from your castle of gold that we have been reluctantly funding and taste the food that is being served in your restaurant. As a SoCal native, I was amazed to find one of the best burrito joints would be located in a sleepy NorCal town.

3.5. The burrito (I had the Super with grilled chicken) was really good. I liked the flavor. The guacamole was delicious, and there wasn't twice the amount of rice to everything else. It's an inexpensive meal, but on top of that, Burritoville Cafe does a wonderful job of fusing a more traditional burrito with a states side flair. Their chicken is of breast, tender chunks, instead of boiled, pulled, eeeewwww. I'm just not a fan of pulled boiled chicken. Why doc them then? Weeelll, it seems that I just can't get the best of both worlds here in Marin. I either get the kick ass burrito, or the kick ass salsa, but never both. And still, no really kick ass chips. Their salsa was insanely vinegary, not very flavorful, just spicy. I love that they have all sorts of hot sauce, including Chipotle Tobasco, but that does not make up for the stale chips or flavorless salsa bar. Would I go back? If this place was somewhere where it wasn't the only Mexican restaurant around it would probably fail. Really not impressed by the food. Can barely taste that the carne asada has been grilled. The al pastor is pretty bland as well. I got the mole once and although the sauce tasted ok, it was obvious they just put some on the chicken befire serving it, it wasn't slow cooked in the mole. Also, charging for chips? This place wouldn't last a day in the mission. Since when does it take 20 minutes for 2 tacos anyway? read more
