Great beer batter fires. Everything else is gross or weird. Everyone raves about this place but it really isn't special. Each time we've eaten there I've been disappointed in the quality of the food. While the SST is a value - you get what you pay for...low quality food. The bread is homemade and that's pretty good, the oatmeal pie masquerading as pecan pie is just gross. Asked if they had real whipped cream and they brought it served with cool whip. Cool whip is NOT whipped cream. The fries are the only thing this place has going for itself. This restaurant exists in limbo between awesome home cooking and crap. It won't kill you to eat there but it won't leave you with much more than some food in your stomach. I hear it was much better previously but owners went through nasty divorce that resulted in cost cutting and lowered quality. If we didn't live 1600 miles away, we'd be here too often!!! Veal cutlet with white gravy is recommended. Old fashioned hamburger was very good. Went here for Valentine's Day. Worse prime rib I have ever had. It was not even warm and there was about 60% fat and blubber. My baked potato was raw and crunchy. My stomach is STILL in an uproar! If you're looking for a cheap quick family place, Butterburr's is your go to. Basic home style cooking with all of the comfort food favorites. If you are looking for homemade, hometown cooking, you will get it here. Love their scones and twists! My kids love their homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. Great place to gather with friends. We went for pie with several other couples and sat for hours chatting with no pressure from our waitress to move along. Great local place for the family to eat! read more

This place was highly recommended but my wife and I were highly disappointed. First of, they put a lot of effort into their baked goods and it shows, they were great. But sadly, the effort does not extend to their regular food. My country fried steak was the frozen variety that you can buy in bulk at Costco. My potato soup tasted just like the potato soup I buy in a can at the store. They some how messed up my wife's chicken fingers, how do you even do that? All in all, it was a standard frozen meal with canned soup. I should have saved money and just went to grocery store across the street. read more

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THE BREAKFAST!! I took my family here after a Sunday service because we didn't feel like making a big lunch. My kids (and I) love to order breakfast at anytime of day, so i got a breakfast special with 2 eggs and toast and hash browns and sausage links. The toast was tiny and burned. The eggs had no flavor at all. The only thing I would ever get again was the sausage links. How can a simple breakfast like that be bad?? One of my daughters ordered the biscuits and gravy and the gravy was a non-descript gray color that had the consistency of coagulated fat and had zero flavor. Terrible. Please don't waste your money on breakfast here!! I don't know if the rest of their food is this bad but i definitely will never order breakfast here again. read more

Twice in a row I have had a horrible experiance. Waitress ignored us for ten minutes. Ordered cinnamon twist with supper along with an extra for the road. Waitress came out with food and said they were out of cinnamon twists, but still charged me for the extra one. Ordered oatmeal pie and did not even get it. All I heard was how they were busy for President Day. I came in before 6:30 pm and the waitress was upset she had to work. Save your money and time, go somewhere else. Drive to Idaho Falls, the drive will leave you happier than a crappy experiance with Butterburrs. read more
