I was especially impressed by Eric, his responsiveness to my questions, and his knowledge of brewing different methods of coffee. While Baratza was delayed in shipping my order, Eric kept me informed and expedited the order with a Baratza rep. He even took some time to explain brewing techniques and recommended a scale that saved me $$, even though they did not stock it themselves. On receiving the order, there was a minor defect in a silicon gasket, and Eric immediately ordered a free replacement with Baratza. Despite living in San Francisco, I will recommend FGR for their great selection of artisan coffees and brew gear, excellent customer service that goes beyond lip service. I trust them, and after my positive experience and will continue to shop and endorse. Thank you Eric.

I stopped by for a quick bite before a work meeting. I didn't want to order a big breakfast and asked if I can do halves. They said no. I wouldn't mind taking the other half to-go if they had environmentally friendly paper container to wrap it in. Ended up taking the whole sandwich in foil instead. The waitress was kind and care about customer services. Ate 1st half while there, it was such a nice morning. I liked my specialty panini sandwich. It wasn't so bad. Wasn't a fan of their potatoes on the side though. It smelled very strong and it came in plastic container, the very container I did not want. Oh well. Gave away my other half. This was mine and my husband's first time here and unfortunately will be our last. The service here needs some work. The only time we saw our waitress was immediately right after our food was dropped to our table and she never checked on us after that. We had seen her check on her other tables, strike up conversations and cleaning off other tables...not us. We waited 20 minutes after eating for boxes and our check, but did not see her. I ended up having to go to the front and asking for both. Only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the manager on duty who was very kind to us and apologized for the service we had. read more

Very disappointing. Although the portions were huge. The women next to us got an order of pancakes and if they (she) ate them all then I applaud her!! The menu is too large. It's nice to have options but it gets confusing. I wanted simple corn beef hash and over easy eggs. They tried to get fancy with the corn beef and it was not good at all. We also tried the salmon eggs benedict. Disappointing. It just did not come together. Either way, I would go to a couple of the other local establishments and get great food. Colonial is great is inexpensive, Egg Harbor is higher end but quality. This needs a lot of work read more

The only bad thing about this is the fact that they do not take reservations and the only downtime they have is when they first open at 7 am,other than that, it is always a 45 minute wait. This is my favorite spot for breakfast in Geneva. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and cheerful. I especially recommend the crapes with Nutella and banana. Perhaps NYE had the staff tired... I am attempting to give them the benefit of the doubt. My husband loves his coffee in the morning, and for every single refill, he had to get up and ask for it. He got a biscuit, and had to get up to ask for butter. If a place is called "Tasty Biscuit," then they had better be sure to serve Tasty Biscuits! His was stale and just fell apart. I had the Avocado Toast, and both the toast and the avocado were inedible. I felt that they used bread and avocado that they had purchased over a week ago. The prices at Tasty Biscuit are a bit higher than at most diners, so I feel it is entirely fair to receive at least adequate food and service, of which we received neither. I hated leaving this review, but Tasty Biscuit should feel worse with sub-par to awful everything as a start to 2026.

A group dinner at Nobel House left us hungry for more (in a good way!)…read more This is a pretty sizable restaurant with a bar along half of one wall and plenty of tables of varying sizes that can accommodate whatever you throw at them. There is ample lighting and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is BBQ and they have a little bit of everything to offer. That is great, but makes it hard to choose what you want! We certainly had that problem but ultimately were very happy with our meals. They pretty much cover all the bases as far as BBQ and the sides. The flavors were very tasty! Having one in Glen Ellyn won't have us running back to this location but that is only on account of circumstance.

I think the last time I visit was before the renovations. Inside feels much more spacious and the menu feels more well rounded white a few more healthier options to choose from. I opted for the BYOB with grilled salmon. At first, it looked pretty small but the portion size was just perfect where I felt full but not overly stuffed. Service was great - attentive and personable and we never feel rushed. Hope to be back soon!
