This is the cutest little restaurant! They are so personal I felt like they really cared about our experience. We were celebrating a bachelorette party and they brought us complementary champagne and dessert. It was so sweet. I also loved the little journals they put the check in. Writing a note to the chef and the next guests. The food was incredible. The flavors were so balanced and delicious. I will be back!

Ooh la la! I've been to Paris before and this was very close to the French food I had there. My coworkers and I all split escargot and the deviled eggs were so good. I ordered the steak frites and felt it was sufficient enough for one person lol even they said 2 ppl can share lol. And we split all the desserts. And yuzu dessert (definitely try!), apple dessert, and the chocolate dessert was amazing. I also got the sour drink which was very good but it hit me a little (I'm a lightweight lol). Highly recommend for the food and vibes!

My wife and I went to Byrdie's for Valentine's Day, and it was absolutely worth it. From start to finish, everything about our experience was incredible. First, a heads-up, you'll want to make a reservation, and it's a good idea to get there a little early to find parking. Once inside, the atmosphere was great, and the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, making the night feel even more special. The food? Incredible. I got the scallops, steak frites, and a chocolate dessert (the name escapes me), and I can confidently say it was the best steak I've ever had. My wife had the house salad, steak frites, and a dessert that I also can't remember the name of but she loved it. We don't go to places this nice very often, but we wanted to do something special for Valentine's, and Byrdie's did not disappoint. If you're looking for a great dining experience, this is the place. We'll definitely be back.

The Tournedos Rossini here is the best meal I've had in Louisville. I also tried the Agnolotti which I wasn't crazy about but that might just be because I was comparing to the tournedos.

Relatively new. They aspire to be a seasonal French tradition restaurant. We were greeted warmly and sat immediately. The decor hasn't changed much from the previous owners but subtle touches. The menu was few choices but everything sounded good. We started with Champagne and Foie Gras both of which were nicely done! Then I moved on to a true French onion soup, it was fantastic. We switched to glasses of a Bordeaux Cab blend which went well with our main course that we shared of Cote de Boeuf (Prime Rib) it was huge! The two of us shared it and still took home half. Very tender and nicely done. Sorry no picture we were drinking! It came with what the called potatoes Anna but it was more Grattan. It was okay, just not what we were expecting! We got dessert of an Apple tart that was done very nicely with a puff pastry crust. And yes we got Armagnac with it. They have a good selection of those! Feeling sated and maybe a little tipsy we called it a night......but we'll be back to try other dishes!

Underwhelming . All the raving reviews and chef accolades set my expectations up for an amazing anniversary dinner. It was fine. The food, service and ambiance were fine, I guess. We got a card signed by staff. Cute. The tiny table with teeny dried flower arrangements was ok. I did not see a place to hang my cloak. It's about the food, though. Both my appetizer and main course were extremely salty ?! Otherwise delicious, but I expected a lot more from a nearly $200 dinner for two people. Two appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and one mint Julep, plus tip and parking ..! We paid $24 to park in their lot for two hours! I suppose one does not go to such an establishment unless prepared to spend freely. It's okay, sometimes, for a life-changing experience.

One of the best dining experiences in Louisville! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. The entire staff was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Absolutely loved everything we tried from the deviled egg appetizer to the yuzu tart for dessert. Highly recommend the wagyu tenderloin. The atmosphere was inviting but still elegant. A gem in NuLu...Can't wait to go back!

Drinks were French 75, house margarita, a smoked and sour, and another drink my friend got I can't recall the name of. The ambiance is so cute down to the light when you enter with the name. The vibes is warm low light. Parking is street only and limited. You may have to park a block up and walk.

I walked in around 5:15pm on a monday night, with plans for a friend to join me around 5:30. The sign at the host station said to wait to be seated. So I waited. And waited. and waited... Folks walked in after me, waited for a bit and then sat themselves at the bar. But I did not want to sit at the bar, we wanted to sit at a table. The server seemed to be willfully ignoring me and avoiding my attempts at eye contact. The bartender was taking care of everyone at the bar as well as making drinks for the rest of the patrons too, he saw me eventually and was looking around for the server or (nonexistent?) host to help me out. The bartender ultimately told me that I could just seat myself wherever I wanted, so I did. There were maybe 3 table seated at this point, it was not that busy. Then it took yet another chunk of time (6 pages read in my book I never leave home without) before I got water and menus. I was frustrated but was looking forward to seeing my friend and was ready to make the most of it. All that said, I like the vibe of the space. The dark, cozy vibes. We came because we wanted cocktails and something to nosh on. And eventually we got that. We shared a flatebread and an Asian-inspired hushpuppy sort of situation. They were pretty tasty and nice to have with our cocktails. The cocktail list is longer than expected and with a lot of intriguing sounding offerings. The two I had were very tasty and delicious! I would maybe come back again and sit at the bar so a solo visit if I had a stretch of time and no rush. My overall memory of the visit is still about the over-long wait/being ignored for such a long time after entering.

I enjoyed the Revival Cathedral and Rhubarb Revelation specialty cocktails made with Heaven's Door Whiskey. Both were refreshing and went down smoothly. I didn't try any food but many folks around me seemed to enjoy their meals and drinks. Notes: I came on a Sunday around dinner time and it was packed. Luckily, I found a seat at the bar because someone was just leaving when I arrived. Bartender was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive all while serving back to back customers. The decor, stained glass, chandeliers, and walls filled with bottles was really cool to see. Great ambiance for small or large groups. Tons of seating at bar, tables, and comfy side chairs. I'd like to come back with family and friends to enjoy other drinks and try their food next time.

The soaring ceilings, stained glass, and echoes of what the building once was make you pause and reflect. But then "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" came on, the drinks started flowing, the energy shifted, and suddenly you stop overthinking and simply admire the beauty of the space and what it has become. The atmosphere is stunning, moody, and unlike anywhere else. We originally ordered one of their signature drinks only to find out they couldn't serve it after the order was placed, but Alain handled it well and made things right with 30% off, which was appreciated. Also, huge thanks to Sean and Mike working security. Walk-ins were completely full for the night, and honestly without their help and kindness we probably never would've gotten a reservation. They treated us incredibly well and set the tone for a great evening. A memorable experience, beautiful setting, and a place that somehow balances reverence, history, and nightlife all at once.

So different than anything we've ever had. I started with 2 birds 1 stone. It was good though I wouldn't order it again. My husband had a draft. We started with the crispy cauliflower and the embered beets. Both delicious but the beets knocked it out of the park. We then were served salatim- a large tray of pita and 8 toppings. My favorite was the pickled carrots. Finally we shared the grape leaf bronzino. We did request no head on the fish but for those of you who are more daring (aka less squeamish), it could be quite a spectacular presentation. Definitely would order again. Meesh Meesh is a James Beard winner. It takes 2-3 months to get reservations and as soon as the reservations open up, they fill up. We were pleasantly surprised to walk in to find that they had a table available. The tables are almost on top of each other. It could be a little weird but I've never met a stranger. We talked to the people on both sides of us like we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. The guys next to us ordered the dinner for two. We definitely weren't hungry enough for so many courses but at $65/person, it probably would have been nearly a wash to what we paid. (Plus they got an amazing looking dessert). Service was impeccable. No thoughts on parking as we walked from our hotel Over the last 29 years, while our families lived in Pittsburgh (aka Steeler Nation!!), we must have driven through Louisville nearly 200 times yet we never stopped. We haven't been in the city for 5 hours and I'm so sorry that we have waited so long to discover Louisville.
