Warning if you're a contractor or walk in customer don't do any business with this store! I'm a Professional Handyman who serves San Diego County residents and commercial buildings. I've never walked into a store where they sell cheap quality cabinets and hardware. Shane (supervisor) has very poor customer service skills and work ethics! He yells and mistreats his employees and customers when it comes to refunds or exchanges. Shane was very unprofessional by yelling, using foul language, kicking boxes around, and made it very difficult for me to get a refund 2 days later with a receipt in hand after one of his employees made a mistake and sold me the wrong size hinges. His exact words "DIDN'T YOU READ THE NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES SIGN? I'M TIRED OF THIS FU$&ING COUNTRY'S RETURN POLICY ALLOWING PEOPLE TO RIP ME OFF!" This place is complete trash! Shane knows nothing about customer service....he's a complete a hole to deal with. Had to go to another place to have a piece of counter top re cut because the piece of back splash was to long. Save your self the headache. He also Does not know how to measure cabinets at all. All the measurement were off and he blamed it on my installers. Way to take ownership of your mistakes. To top it all off He gave me a a garbage disposal that leaks there was no electrical connection included. Bottom line stay away!! Go to Home Depot or a reputable business! read more

Shane is very passionate about this job and his love for his workmanship. I put in my order about a month ago and got my cabinets. They looked AMAZING!! The shop carries almost everything from A to Z. Cabinets were a bit late but nothing due to his fault, things happen and it was only a short delay. I took a few snap shots of the cabinets posted them online and why friends keep on asking where I got them. The workmanship is there its a SOLID product. Even when the doors were a bit off Shane took care of me, no questions asked. Make sure you have your contractor measure and measure 2-3 over and over again. I went to Cabinet X to check out purchasing a bath vanity and tall cabinet for my master bath remodel. Anyone embarking on a remodel should give this place a look because the prices are very reasonable! Javier was very professional assisting me with the design and kept me informed of my order status, made recommendations to accelerate the project, and was very easy to work with. I spoke with Sergio more during the installation, everything went smoothly. After the installers left, I noticed minor blemish in the quartz. When Cabinet X called later that day to check my satisfaction, I mentioned it and they had someone back on site that day to buff it out. I can't say I have any complaints, very satisfied! Now that we're finally almost done with our entire home remodeling I have an extra minute to rave about this company:) We were searching for a place to purchase quality but still affordable cabinets and had visited a couple different locations like Home Depot, Lowe's, and even I think Window Depot which has a rep for low prices and randomly one day just decided to compare with Cabinetx and were floored by how cheap, customized, and still with great quality we were going to be able to get not only our kitchen cabinets but also the granite and our floor for with Shane. He was SO helpful, patient, and super quick with everything we were looking for! My husband was a bit skeptical at first but Shane really did seem like he knew what he was talking about and had a strong passion for his work and his company. He didn't let us down. Shane made sure to show us all of our options and gave us very honest tips/advice. Shane helped us maximize every little corner and the space inside each cabinet with specific shelf amounts and we also got a lazy Susan to put our pans/Tupperware in. We have so much space that there is no need for a pantry! He really didn't even have to be a pushy salesman because the products/their pricing truly sold themselves... his kindness and expertise was an extra cherry on the top for our experience. This business is NOT closed. We are having our entire kitchen remodeled and CabinetX supplied everything- custom real wood cabinets with crown molding, quartz countertops, stainless steel sink, faucet, garbage disposal, etc. We are having slide-out drawers put in several cabinet shelves and lazy-Susans in a corner cabinet. All designed for our particular needs. Our new kitchen is nearly finished and it looks fantastic. We couldn't be happier. Beware! I went in to see kitchen wall cabinets. Sales person said they were and in their shop.The only sample they had was a door with a dark grey.No model or price.The salesperson asked Shane and I gave him a drawing of the wall and the six wall cabinets.Shane used his "shorthand" and wrote an estimate on scratch paper in pencil.No color,no model. A few days later I came in with a picture of the wall to go over the details,make sure we understood each other and maybe place an order. Shane said "I thought we were through with this" I was shocked ! Then he pointed to the wall and said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and I'm refusing service to you. Unbelievable.All I wanted was to communicate clearly,agree on the details and get a proper written quotation and go from there. BE 100% CLEAR ! Clearly get everything in writing with a company estimate/invoice I'm happy I bought my cabinets from a company with good customer service and total transaction clearly documented. read more

Offered a piece of granite with a back splash included. When it came to finish and install, Shane said I never said that, and offered a broken piece and said to glue it. I protested and that was not our agreement. He relented as he cursed at me and hung up on me. The granite was nice, sorry it ended that way. The install was fine by a sub. read more

Seldom do I write reviews on goods and services but the salesman/manager of Cabinet X in National City angered me so much that I felt compelled to write this review. Shane's salesmanship is a typical "car salesman" dealer. He was misleading from the get go. He assured us that he would take good care of us no matter the problem. He mislead us in service, delivery of goods and the quality of cabinets. We met the owner name Shane. He seemed very nice and accommodating at first. He talked a big storm about his cabinets and service. My wife was immediately was sold on his pitch. We made several visits to the store, Shane was more talk than substance (service). As we were reviewing design plans, he thought that best bet would be for him to come over the house and measure and look at the lay-out so that could have the best plan possible. He then proceeded to tell us about the advantages of doing so. He would be responsible if measurements were not correct. He told us that everything would come perfect. He charged one hundred dollars for this visit. I pointed out the intricacy of the counter round the kitchen sink. He said no "problem, that it will come out perfect" Now how would he know if he was not the installer. I also pointed out to him that the oven cabinet had to be altered, he said "no problem" He made this comment Ad Nauseam and as you might have guessed by now, there were plenty of problems. By the way, Shane did not customize the oven cabinet and the quartz around was poorly installed and did not look as well as he promise. After signing the contract and paying the full amount (this one is on us too) I asked him when I could have our purchase. He responded, "I will have it delivered this Friday". I was not finished tiling my kitchen so told him to deliver the following week. Needless to say a partial amount of cabinets took three weeks to be delivered. The remaining order took another three or four weeks to be delivered. "I will have it delivered this Friday" is his favorite phrase. If you purchase a product from him, get used to the phrase. We also changed our minds on the appliances; we asked for different ones even if we paid the difference. He would not have any of it. He kept reminding us what we signed for on the "binding"contract. He showed different cabinets types of colors and designs of cabinets. He explained everything about the cabinets except quality. This one is on us for not doing our homework. (Buyer beware) We assumed that cabinet's fascia was made of hardwood. To our chagrin, they were made with softwood. I installed the all cabinets with the plastic wrap so as not to damage the cabinets. When I took off the plastic wrap I realized that the cabinets were made of cheap wood. Hhmmm, . . . It's a bit late to complain. Caveat Emptor. Do your homework before you buy cabinets from anyone especially from Shane / Cabinet X. Have the sales person write on their contract the exact delivery dates without fail and hold them to the contract as Shane did with us. Know exactly the type of cabinet you are looking for and ask questions. Shane's cabinet placement design would have incurred hidden charges. His design required additional plumbing and electrical work that he never mentioned nor wrote on contract (ask questions). Talk to the installer about the outcome of the installation and not the sales person; They don't install, they just mislead to sell. One last thing, never, ever pay for everything upfront. If you do, the Shane's of the world will be flashing the contract in your face. read more
