The menu is rather small and limited for the amount of hype this place gets. The food was also extremely overpriced and mediocre at best. The service was so so. Not bad, not spectacular. The drinks were expensive and a lot of things weren't listed on the menu so we had no idea until the bill came. It's not necessarily the money that's the issue. It's what you get for your money. Stopped in here while on a port visit on a cruise. What can I say about this place? It's Mexico. Typical happy hour or two-for-one drink specials. Typical décor and music. My husband and I came to see him perform a few years ago, and its a small enough venue where there wasn't a bad spot in the house. Very cool place, a must-see when in Cabo! We strolled in on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was already packed. There was a Grammy-nominated live band playing, called The Boneshakers. They were awesome. During happy hour you get 2 margaritas for $9 USD. Also ordered the fish tacos for $2.50 USD. I've been to this place many times over the years and always fun. Recently I went with a group of friends and had an awful experience! Their restrictions during COVID make zero sense. They had a decent band out and evidently they don't allow dancing wtf! If your playing live music people want to have fun and not sit down. We were warned numerous times and eventually kicked out. Great Waboritas and the Waiters were wonderful. Chris and our other waiter were so helpful in teaching me Spanish! The fish tacos are a must order so tasty and the chicken nachos were perfect treat! 3 rounds of tequila so we could test each level and Blanco was as smooth as can be! Taking some back home! for starters...this wasn't my choice at all...i think you all know that. our friends wanted to come so we joined them ...it's more about the company than the location... not going to have a lengthy review...but in summary 1) it was hot today..they initially seated us in the bar...we asked if there was an AC room...they said to go to the restaurant....we did...there was no AC...oh well.. 2) the server was horrible...even when we did flag him down to ask for something...he didn't even pause...he just kept walking with a quick glance in our direction. No offense to Sammy, I love his work, but this was not a great experience. We came in to buy souvenirs and were lured into ordering food with the offer of bottomless virgin margaritas from a waitress. All four of us heard her say it and we even asked a follow up question to confirm before we ordered and she reaffirmed the offer. Then, when my daughter asked for a refill they told her that wasn't the deal. We told the server that we had been offered this so he called the waitress over who had said it and she straight up lied. My wife, who is not usually the person who would want to make a scene about such a thing was so annoyed that she called her out on the spot. My wife and kids really enjoyed the tacos they ordered to go with it but the bait and switch on the drinks left a bad taste in our mouths and we won't be back. The flavor of the drinks was pretty weak anyway. They didn't add enough syrup or juice to offset the melting ice. read more

This place is as tasteless as it looks. Maybe it's because I'm not a middle aged dad but the vibes here are just bad. The least fresh food I've had in the area, especially the cold bland guacamole. I got the torta and it was not great, and the sweet potato chips were soggy. can't speak to the live bands but the music choice is absolute ****, fire the DJ please. Some of the staff seem to be doing their best but the service isn't excellent (though I wouldn't expect it here). Worst of all, I could probably go to Disney World for less money than I'd pay here for the basics. Gets a star for being a fun experience for your classic rock fan dad and no one else. My happiest place on earth when in Mexico! Who doesn't love a little bit of rock and Mexican food when in Mexico? No language barrier, solid food choices, affordable prices, great tequila and cold beer, Cabo is where it's at for me when I go to this part of it. My review is based solely on the food. I love Sammy Hagar and dig his night club concerts. Now getting back to the food. Spent 28.00 for their lobster fajitas and 28.00 for their lobster tacos. Worst choice! Basically bought the most expensive food item they have. I think there was about 1 oz of lobster meat on both dishes. I'm so glad I ordered the beef quesadilla appetizer otherwise I would have left so unsatisfied and still hungry. Huge tourist trap. I was in town and really wanted to see what Cabo Wabo was all about. When you get there they ask you that you need to purchase food in order to stay there- fine no problem I ordered margaritas and I almost spit them out. Soooooo gross! I couldnt believe how bad the drinks were. We got attitude when we asked them to return. We were ready to order, but they were so rude that we decided to leave. The menu prices are through the roof so be ready to spend a fortune. Never again! Go around the corner to mama and papas restaurants that actually have great food and drinks. read more

I've been coming to Cabo Wabo in Cabo for over 20 years. Sometimes twice a year. Always predictable and familiar. Last night Sammy was in town and came down and played. He was amazing as usual. But last night was a little busy so when I showed up with my 8 friends and family they offered a "VIP" booth. The young lady at the front quoted me $250 which seemed reasonable for bottle service. When we got settled the waiter explained that we were required to get two bottles. So I asked how much that would be. He explained that based on the bottles we ordered it would be $388 plus 20% required tip. Well this upset me but what was I to do. So then came the end of the evening and my wife received the bill but could not read the numbers. When we woke up this morning we were shocked to see they charged us $849! Well first thing this morning we took a cab back to find out what happened. We spoke to the manager and asked for an itemized receipt (none was provided the night before and we never signed anything). He said all the receipts had been sent to corporate and that no receipt was available. He explained that they lowest price bottle service was just over $260 and that two bottles were not required. He further explained that the two bottles we ordered (Titos vodka and Patron tequila) were $672. So the young lady gave us bad information and then our waiter gave us bad information. I asked the manager if there was anything he could do and he said he would talk to his staff as they did not do it the way he would have done it. Thanks Cabo Wabo. This review in no way is meant to reflect on Sammy. My guests said that his performance was the highlight of the trip. It is mint to highlight the current management and leadership style of Cabo Wabo. Be careful at Cabo Wabo. If a mistake is made it's too bad for you. read more
