Caesars Chicken USED to be my favorite chicken spot until today! When I got inside the place it smelled like dirty old oil. I never imagined the chicken not being the golden color it usually is. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes which has never happened. When I got home I opened the container and found some dark looking fried chicken I bit in to a leg which by the way looked and felt soggy. Definitely used dirty old oil it taste so bad I threw it all away! Obviously the chicken was re fried a couple times the leg was tuff and hard texture like not a soft piece of meat as the leg should be! I will never ever go to Caesar chicken ever again! With the fried chicken choices in Hayward fairly narrow, Caesar's has been our "go-to" spot for many years, like 30 years. We don't live in the East Bay anymore, but as Hayward natives, Caesar's is a nice throw-back of tasty nostalgia for us. We still have family here, so whenever we have a hankering for fried chicken take-out (we'll always bypass the chains, KFC, etc.) Caesar's works just fine. They offer a lot of options, whether you're looking for dinner for 2 or 30 people. I love the fact that they offer spaghetti and garlic bread with their fried chicken, that's truly an "old school" tradition. Sure sometimes the chicken might be a little salty or greasy, but that's nothing that some good hot sauce can't cover up. I really enjoyed the food from here- we had the chicken and the spaghetti. The chicken batter is different than your typical KFC and it is a little salty- but that's okay I like mine on the salty side. The spaghetti has a spicy kick to it that is medium, I liked it as well. The sauce and raviolis is still the same and even though it's not the most authentic, it has always gone well with the chicken and bread. Not the best my sister wanted to make some fried chicken for dinner one night and then decided it was to much work so she went to go buy some chicken to put next to all the side dishes she had made I had always wanted to try this place cuz i always drive by it but it's not good at all it was so salt and dry it tasted like it was premade frozen fried chicken and then cooked for to long. I poured about a 1/4 inch of water out of my spaghetti. Seems like it was frozen and microwaved. You get a whole 2 or 3 bites of cole slaw in the to go container but it wasn't very cold so no loss there. And the chicken wasn't what it used to be seemed like it sat under a hot lamp for a while. I've been coming here for over 20+ years. Ordered the 15 piece chicken dinner. Did a pick up, brought it back home the only thing in the bag was the chicken. Called your business and said they forgot my bread and pasta. On the way back there, my daughter and son in-law called said they also shorted us on the chicken. To make sure to get what we purchased. Two young men came out, the one who rang me up and another one. With the bread and pasta, but refused my missing chicken. I called back home to my daughter to verify the shortage, again they said they shorted us. The two young men started to smart off have them count again we gave you the right amount. I said that's terrible here I have to make a second trip to get the bread and pasta, we're shorted the chicken "you guys are terrible." They tell me "no you're terrible." This went back and forth a couple of times. I finally took a picture of the two and took my tip back and was so upset I flipped them the bird. Told them they lost a customer! This certainly isn't the Caesar's chicken of yesteryear. I have been going to Caesar's for over 30 years...remember when it was a little red hut down close to Bayfair? I went there tonight to get a four piece dinner and paid extra for chicken breast and ravioli substitute. I got home and there were only two wings and no breast in the box - obviously a mistake and my receipt for $16.00+ said four piece and extra for breasts and ravioli's. I called to let them know so the rest of my order would be ready when I got down there. The girl who answered the phone said she checked with the kitchen and they wouldn't make that mistake - What??? Are you saying I am lying about having to come all the way back down there to get the rest of the dinner I already paid for??? When I asked to talk to the manager she said he wasn't there!! Yikes - very disappointed in the VERY BAD customer service to a 30+ year loyal customer. And, the chicken isn't as good as it use to be either!!! read more

My boyfriend's family was having a party and ordered a tray of the fried chicken from here. It was some pretty good chicken! It was so good that I had about four pieces of chicken! My poor thighs were suffocating in my jeans, I just keep stuffing down this fried chicken! When I think of fried chicken I think, super oily skin and dry white meat inside. This was not the case! The chicken skin was fried to perfection and surprisingly it wasn't oily! My fingers weren't shiny or greasy after. The white meat inside was so moist and flavorful! The fact that this chicken wasn't so greasy and heavy is dangerous! I keep eating them. I can't have Caesar's chicken everyday but when I do get to eat it, i'm certainly going to enjoy it! The inside of caesar's chicken was a bit odd to me. When you walk in the walls are all plain with a single TV on the wall. There were only two tables for customers to sit and eat and a few single chairs for customers to wait for their food. Nothing is better having fried chicken fresh out. This place is a Bay Area staple!! Between CSU Hayward (now East Bay) this hole in the wall has helped give Hayward a name to remember. I'm surprised they haven't been invited to be on one of those cooking shows on food network. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and seasoned while not being overly greasy. It is a bit pricey but well worth the treat from the fast food chicken chains. The spaghetti always needs seasoning but remember you go for the chicken. read more

oH !!! Caesar's Chicken what is happening over there. I was there getting dinner for my family on 5-24. It was one of those nights @ Caesar's that the phone rang consistently with no answer. I called several times to place my phone order. When I arrived to pick up it was not ready . No problem I wait. Then as I am sitting there several people walk in upset that no one has answered any of their phone call either. The young man at the cashier Andres tells them sorry as they are understaffed. I continue to wait. Then as Im sitting inside waiting . The cashier gets up runs to the door and locks it in front of some ladies face as she is trying to enter. He walks away and says nothing. Im thinking why am i LOCKED in here. He comes back up and says we are out of chicken and runs to the back. At this point I am awkwardly waiting for my dinner and watching people walk up to the locked door and ask me whats going on....... Their fried chicken is hella good! The perfect combo of crispy on the outside and very juicy/tender on the inside and not dry at all. HOWEVER their service sucks! The guy that works there is lazy AF! I tried to call to place a big order and the guy placed me on hold, which was fine at first, I thought they were busy since it was all-star weekend, then after 15-20 minutes - I was like: "wow! this fool really forgot that he put me on hold" I hung up tried calling back and it went straight to VM, thinking he still had the phone unhooked. At this point I was annoyed, feeling like this fool did this shit on purpose b/c he didn't want to take anymore orders since it was almost closing. So I inconveniently had to go there to place the order and had to wait an extra 15minutes for my order to be ready, when it could of been done and ready when I attempted to place the order by phone. When I got there - it wasn't busy at all and the lazy ass who kept me on hold for 20 minutes was there! I then was like "hi I was the one you placed on hold for 20 minutes" and he was like "oh sorry!" With no fucking remorse, didn't even try to make it right by offering a discount or not even throwing in free sides. And the cherry on fucking top, after I placed my order I asked so how long it was going to take, he says "oh not long, like 15 minutes, it's not busy at all" I wanted to rip him a new one! This management and restaurant is ridiculous. I complained a few weeks ago about employees closing prior to the close time and refusing to cook chicken when they were still open and nobody ever reached out to me. This used to be a great place for takeout but it's quickly going downhill. All the owner did was change the close time from 9:00 to 8:30. The issue is that my husband and I called at 8:00 and asked for chicken, which the employee refused to cook because they wanted to close. We own two business nearby and wanted to partner because we have bars and don't cook food but at this point, we can't work with someone who doesn't honor customer service. read more

been on a healthy kick lately but it has been a long time and i was due for the bay area's best fried chicken. it's so darn good as i remember but i really can't see how people eat fried chicken so much. on the average a breast piece with skin on was about 2500 calories, 70 grams of fat and over 1000mg in sodium. just to think of all that can make ya sick and even kill ya. i took the skin off so that dropped the fat down 50 grams of fat. now i feel so much better. most people don't eat just one piece so caesars chicken is now a rare treat for me. and they also have the best ravioli to boot. it sounds like a weird combo but i swear it's heaven. oh and i can't forget the coleslaw and garlic bread. wow!! i'm thinking a piece of fish and veggies for the next month! :) read more

I have to say I came here through word of mouth, many many mouths that is lol... and all ending with, "you'll like it." So, what have I got to loose? My friend and I were starving after our shopping trip at the Marina Outlets off 880 so we were actually in the neighbourhood to Caesar's Chicken! We were excited we got to try the movie box at last! Look at the no frills package! There were 3 pieces of yummy juicy freshly fried chicken - drumstick, thigh and breast; a cup of spaghetti in a meat sauce that has just the right hint of spice; a piece of freshly baked french bread that taste so good with the meat sauce! I finished everything! They marinates the chicken really well the flavour even goes to the bones! The chicken breast was unusually tender and juicy it was so tasty. I were in fried chicken heaven lol... So here's a winner! On top of that, the service is very good too. We asked for the straw, they have it, some extra napkins, they have it. We even used the restroom which is unisex but clean and tidy. We got to wash our hands before and after we eat you know! Most people ordered take away and there are plenty of parking space. The TV was on, it's nice they provide that for people who were sitting and waiting for their food. I remember my Dad and my Mom would drive home from work (Oakland)..stop at Caesars (Hayward) to grab some dinner and head home (Dublin)........as soon as they opened the door I could smell the chicken. ITS HELLA GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! And who would have thought to add a side of Spaghetti and Garlic Bread as the sides.... and the garlic bread is a nice hard bread that you can just grab a piece of and gnaw on while watching tv (makes a nice snack! HA!) Man..I miss Caesars. Its been over 15 years since Ive had this chicken. I think next time im up visitng my family I will definitely have to stop here and grab some for everyone!!! Caesars Chicken is real good, if your sick and tired of the same ol KFC or Popeyes or even Churches chicken you have to try caesars. They taste totally differnt from all these other spots. They have a very tasty marinade and the chickens are actually the right size. No extra injections needed. Food: I always go for a Chicken Dinner meal, it comes with four peices of chicken (Leg, thigh, breast, wing) side order or coleslaw a peice of bread, and some real good spegettii. I always dip my chicken breast in the spegetti sauce. Very good. The coleslaw cant beat KFCs but it will do. This is the only chicken spot i know you can get chicken and spegetti and ravioli to go. Service: Very prompt, always ready to go. Caesars always has been with the same family for a very very long time until the owner lady passed away they sold the place. The owner lady had a grandson that i went to high school with. She always looked very mean but she was the most nicest lady ever. She always empolyed all the young students at Castro Valley high school. With the new team that has taken over it has been a little differnt. It wont ever be the same but it will do. 3.5 stars rounded up... I miss the previous owners (ya know the old lady standing behind the counter taking orders).... Back then I would have definitely given 5 stars, but since the new owners have taken over, the chicken seems saltier and not as consistent. The spaghetti and raviolis haven't changed and they are still old skool Italian family style. They are my sons favorite! I am a huge fan of the garlic bread. Decided to try out Caesar's Chicken for dinner last night. I've gotta say, taking into consideration it's tiny building and dark parking lot, they put out some pretty damn good chicken! I ordered the 4-Piece Chicken dinner, which came with a drumstick, wing, thigh and breast, along with cole slaw, spaghetti and bread...all for under $7.00? What a STEAL...you can't get that deal anywhere!!! The Fried Chicken was way good, totally tasted homemade and nothing artificial about it. The meat was juicy and the skin was perfectly crisp and seasoned. The spaghetti was pretty good too, it totally complimented the chicken. The cole slaw was...blah and so was the bread...well then again, you really can't mess up bread! Yeah, I'll agree with everyone else, it has to be the BEST Fried Chicken in the Bay Area, or at least, in the 510, hands down! Now...if they only served WAFFLES!!!!! This place was popular in the 70's but it hasn't improved any over the years. The chicken has a good flavor but is very greasy. I remember it being much better years ago but then again, it could just be my tastes have changed. The thick spaghetti has a thin weak tomato sauce. You're better off going to Banchero's if you are looking for that kind of pasta. Winner winner, fried chicken dinner! Oh, how I like me my fried chicken. And this place hits the spot every single time. Food: 4-pc chicken dinner meal I ordered 1/2 original 1/2 spicy. The chicken is flavorful, moist and juicy. The skin was crunchy though a tad bit salty for me. Side spaghetti ranges from meh to good; nothing spectacular, but I think maybe some red pepper flakes could liven it up a bit. I'm a fan of the coleslaw; it's a small portion but we all need our daily veggie servings. :) French bread is a nice little compliment side to everything. Well upon asking the girl at the front a question about my chicken, she then picked up the chicken with her bare hands, looked at it and put it back on my tray.
