Not terrible but not great and outside chairs aren't the most comfortable and very close to your neighbor. Staff was friendly and coffee/latte was good but again nothing to go out of your away with. I LOVE this place. Part of me wants to keep it a secret because of how good it is. I got a regular iced latte, a butter croissant and my mom got the honey cinnamon latte and an almond croissant. Not only were both drinks and croissants delicious, the service was great. I didn't get the name of the man who took our order and brought us our food but he was so sweet and nice. The ambiance is nice and it wasn't too busy when I went so parking was also easy. There's outdoor seating underneath awnings for nice shade and there was enough inside seating as well. Not fond of ordering at a counter and waiting to have food delivered but all in all good food. Coffee is hot and the Swedish pancakes were very good. Food is delicious and fresh. We had breakfast here, came in as soon they open because I had places to be, there was no wait. You order inside, they give you a number and bring you the order. The coffee was okay, not too strong, too much creamer maybe. They gave four tables inside and outside seating. Staff are very friendly. Try the late, croissant, very omelette, green toast all yum! Came here for the first time this morning with the girls. The place is tiny so if you're next to a loud party then you're out of luck. The older gentleman helped us move to the opposite corner of the loud party and was so helpful. The younger lady asked once if we're good and then let us enjoy ourselves for as long as we wanted which was awesome. Food is ok and a bit pricy. $18 for toast! Plenty of parking outside. A water station for self service. I'm glad there are folks nearby who seem to come often as regulars. read more

I have been coming to get Breakfast every Wednesday, Friday and Sundays morning with 6 to 8 friends. I spend 7 dollars for a latte, and when I requested to get a regular coffee refill this store refuse to give me a cup. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with salmon and the chicken pasta. For drinks, we ordered Flat white and iced chocolate ...... The gringo first asked us what we wanted to drink and after we ordered our drinks, he walked away. When he was done with his drink, he asked us to look at the menu again to choose our entrees. He gave me a large cup full of iced chocolate and when I was halfway through it, he grabbed the juicer cup and poured the rest of the iced chocolate over me ...... I had a cup and a half of iced chocolate! What a wonderful surprise this place is! It was recommended to us and we're so glad that we came. This won't be the last visit as we will definitely be returning to try more things. My iced mocha which comes with a double shot of coffee is really yummy. Just to save you having to figure it out, there's no table-side service and so you'll have to go up to the counter to order and pay. Soft jazz was playing in the background and that really seemed to fit my dining mood. One thing I particularly liked about this meal was their delivery of clean cutlery whenever they brought a new dish out of the kitchen, because I hate always having to figure out where to put the previous course's cutlery for reuse on the next item I'm going to eat. They definitely get points on that. We decided to start the meal by sharing the Montrose Goddess salad and that was absolutely amazing! The lemon thyme vinaigrette is just out of this world and I'm glad we ordered extra on the side. I'm not a huge fan of tarragon and so what was a great surprise was the incredibly wonderful tarragon chicken salad that comes with it, which I spread on the piece of toast and that was an amazing flavor treat. The greens were very fresh and sharing that salad was a great experience for us. Sound bounces off the hard walls and floor, so just be aware in case it gets busy (and, thus, noisy), but it's worth putting up with that in order to enjoy some really good food. I liked my Smokehouse Burger but would have enjoyed a little more umph with a strong hit of garlic in the aioli, but the shoestring fries were nicely cooked. I used a fair amount of my own salt that I carry with me and that helped both the burger and fries. Mr. Picky had the Crème Brûlée French Toast, thought it good enough that he didn't even need to add any syrup, and so he said he would order those again. We shared a piece of banana bread, the ripe bananas were a nice treat so the flavor was excellent, but we both agreed we would have liked it a little sweeter overall. The Apricot Scone was a little different but we liked that. We finished the meal with the Raspberry Bar, both of us liked it, not too sweet. Overall, the kitchen has a real bit of genius going on, but I don't think the bakery side of things is anywhere near the same level. But the cooked items we tried were great and we both will come back to try more things. read more

Recently ordered door dash from Cafe Montrose . I must say their breakfast burrito was packed with eggs , which I love . The only reason downside was that for the amount and size of the burrito , wish there was more salsa verde on the side .... One was just not enough. The salsa verde was amazing. I also had the side of latte with my breakfast and for about $20- though a little pricy the latte and burrito combo was a great breakfast start. Everything package really nicely for delivery . I've actually driven passed their location and they have cute cafe seating outside .Will definitely stop by and dine in or order from here again. read more

I first tried Cafe Montrose a couple years ago, and it's close to where I used to live. It's incredibly cozy inside, the coffee is fantastic, and their breakfast is amazing! I love the BAE Toast for a filling but lighter breakfast. When I'm really hungry I love the breakfast burrito! I also love their Salmon Salad... sooo good. Their pastries are amazing as well!! We ordered Nutella Iced latte, honey cinnamon iced latte, the breakfast burrito and their Swedish pancakes. Although the drinks were meh, the food made up for it' loved the simpleness of the breakfast burrito, the salsa that it comes with (green chile) was ohh so delicious! 5/5 would recommend. We also got their Swedish pancakes which is almost like a crepe, that came with berries on top and some sort of jam and it was DELICIOUS! 5/5 need to get. This goes to show how hungry we were since we didnt get to take pictures of the food. I would highly recommend this place and would love to go back. read more

We stumbled across here. My boyfriend and I wanted a nice brunch. Then we saw this cool looking beer so we decided to drink on a Thursday afternoon . I got a good tipsy. The food was amazing! I'm usually not a salad person but I wanted to try something new and the salad bowl was soooo good. The meatball was juicy. The chorizo hash was perfect for a beer because it was salty and savory. I highly recommend getting the crème brûlée French toast, it's really good and you can actually taste the brûlée. Definitely coming back! Everyone was so nice and patient. The last time I went to Cafe Montrose was a few years ago and coming again recently it has lost a lot of its charm. The dishes were served on paper plates and plastic utensils which feels extremely wasteful. The food took about 30 minutes to come out which was surprising because it didn't seem too busy. The food was not great, the breakfast bowl was mainly beans although the poached egg and rosemary toast were fantastic. The BAE toast was nothing special, the avocado was extremely similar to the Ralphs guacamole spread (tastes creamy but not like real avocado). The restaurant itself is quaint and beautiful and I hope the restaurant goes back to how it used to be. read more

Came with my gf for a quick bite and a coffee and ended up staying a little later than anticipated. It's a great little atmosphere that serves better coffe drinks than we've had in a while. I had the advertised honey cinnamon latte, and she had a chai latte. While we waited we enjoyed our drinks with an apricot scone and an almond croissant, both very nice. This is a cute little cafe to grab a coffee and pastry, or sit down with a friend and have brunch. I got the Breakfast Bowl. It's a bit smaller than I'd have liked, but it was still yummy. It comes with white beans, several sausage balls, salad, and a poached egg on top, as well as some toast on the side. (Personally, it's a little on the pricey side for the amount of food you're getting... For example, Tickle Tree Cafe has comparable prices, but they give you a lot more food.) If I were eating carbs, I totally would have tried their pastries. They looked really delicious! The staff was friendly. :) There's indoor and outdoor dining.
