Not sure where these 5 star reviews are coming from. I stopped there a couple of days ago and had the WORST burger I have had in years. Beef with so much TVP (soy filler) that it was gray, didn't even look like beef, and completely tasteless. The fake grill marks only made it more of a joke, since it was obviously finished on a flat top grill. I have stopped there in the past and the food was OK. New owners, two years ago, have chosen to cheap out and serve crap. Won't be long til the rest of the travelers hear. Sad thing is that it's the only game in town. I really loved this place and the food! It is campy, retro, 50 ish something diner. The employee t-shirts says it like it is...Cafe 247...In the middle of no where! Having driven by this place like a million times on our way to Vegas...I finally had a chance to visit with a friend here. Got there a little too late for breakfast ( served till 11)... So opted for a burger! They must have like 8 different burgers that were priced between $4-6ish and for $3 more you can turn that burger into a combo with fries and a large drink. I opted for the Ortega Burger! OMG....it was delicious. Hand made patty, huge Ortega chili, lettuce, pickle and cheese. Yum! I just can't wait to get back there again and maybe try something else from their extensive menu! Did I see "Chicken Fried Steak"? Well worth the drive to "the middle of no where". read more

Fresh food served. I was pleasantly surprised to hit this place for breakfast and we all enjoyed our food. It took a while but that was because they were making it fresh! They seem to have a problem with flies in the dining room which makes me a little nervous but that seems to be the case with a lot of desert diner type places. I would come back and I would choose this place for breakfast over any chain restaurant. read more

Stopped by for Sunday lunch after a nearby weekend event in the middle of the desert. The place was quite busy at about 10:00am. The line to order moved quickly, though, & our food was brought out promptly. I got a Hawaiian burger with a veggie patty & a shake. The boyfriend got a tuna melt with cheddar & a shake. Our food was pretty delicious. The sweet BBQ sauce on my burger was yummy. My only complaint was that if someone asks for a veggie patty on a burger, you should probably check to see if the bacon included on said burger (but not stated) is okay. As a vegetarian, having to pick that off was slightly annoying. But the food was good, service was solid, & the decor & ambiance was interesting. A worthwhile stop if you're in the area. :) read more

I eat here most times I come through. Rock's pizza around the corner is the best! But for sandwiches and burgers this place is pretty good. Their burgers are outstanding. Their menu has expanded over the years. They now have a dozen or more variety of burgers. They also have a lot of sandwiches. It looks like you can get BBQ on the weekends too. It also looks like a great place for breakfast. The last couple times we were here it was great, but our food took a while. I will continue to stop here though. Nothing negative to say. Probably a 3.5 star place, if I could rate it that way. read more

This is the best pork rib place I've ever been! And I've been to a lot. I've been to Phil's in San Diego; Saltlick in Texas; rib joints in Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. But nothing comes near Cafe 247's pork ribs. Homongous, moist, not dry, fall off the bone pork rib..simply delicious. My wife had the Polish sausage and it was very good...smoky, porky! I'm definitely coming back to try their burgers and breakfast burrito which I was told are very good too. Cafe 247 is truly a hidden gem in the middle of the high desert!! read more

(among other things) the food is pretty good. the best veggie burgers by far. they used to be pretty good-when they were made by the previous owner. it was good but often dry. the burgers are alright and veggie burgers are good and all. i have been looking for a good burger joint and while this place has all kinds of yummy great food-the SHAKES Included. the fries are great to. and are a beautiful nice Golden Brown. Just left there. It says worlds best hamburgers. It should say the worst. It took literally five minutes to cook it because it was a microwaved soy burger. Smothered in mayonnaise. My wife and I went here for dinner the other night, I ordered the ribs and she had the pastrami burger. The ribs were some of the best ribs I have had in a long time and the beans that they served with them were very tasty; my wife said she enjoyed her burger and her fries were made fresh, so she was happy. Absolutely the best place to eat in Lucerne Valley. Burgers are enormous, BBQ is on point, and Breakfast burritos are a meal.

The ribs fall apart in your mouth. I've never had pork ribs as tender, which is why I usually stick to beef. After experiencing these delicacies, I'm sold. If you love ribs, come here. Side note, our food was ready five minutes after ordering. The price difference between a half rack and a full is a couple of dollars, so go for the full. read more

OK read all the reviews, so I figured the place was going to be good. I was wrong, it's kinda a dump hole. Would not recommend this place to anyone. The food was not good eggs tasted like they came from a box aka egg beaters. The toast was OK but damn much butter. And really plastic utensils and paper plates. And you try and charge 2 bucks for a 6 Oz bottle of OJ that you can get at gas station for 89 cents. I will never eat here again. The other reviews not even close to neighborhood accurate. I don't know why I go into these small roadside places expecting fantastic food. I think, how hard is it to screw up breakfast? Well, for a breakfast lover from the SF Bay area where we have Fat Apples, and La Note, Chloe's, and The Magic Flute, I can only be disappointed. Everything here tasted as though it was frozen. From the triangular hash browns, to the scrambled eggs, to the biscuits and gravy. I always order biscuits and gravy in these places because it seems like something that they should do well. They don't; take my word for it. The gravy was thick like it had too much cornstarch in it and the biscuits were dense hockey pucks. What is wrong with making potatoes from scratch? Or biscuits to be light and fluffy? Is it really that much of a time saver? A money saver? I can't believe that because you'd start losing customers as soon as they tasted the difference! OK, I digress. There wasn't much else around and they did have a few outdoor tables in the sunshine. The locals were nicer than the workers. Try to save your hunger because about 20 minutes down the road, it looked like a much better option. (although again, hope springs eternal...) read more

My 17 year old kid skipped lunch so he ordered a burger and chili cheese fries and it was too much for him! I recommend this place, good food, great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. read more
