This place is pretty cool! It's on the smaller side, but it has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in.It was my first time trying ube, so I wanted to play it safe and order something more subtle. I got the Monster Thai Tea, which I'd rate about a 6/10. The ube flavor wasn't very strong, and the milk and Oreo flavors overpowered the drink. Unfortunately, the boba didn't taste very fresh either. I also tried the ube truffle coated with oreo pieces, and that was actually really pretty good! I'd give it an 7.5/10. My daughter thought differently though she absolutely loved it and gave it a 9/10. Fun fact if you check in on the yelp, they give you a free hibiscus tea pretty big size for it to be free but honestly, I have no flavor. I still enjoyed it since I like plain tea but no flavor. The real star of the visit was the ube cheesecake. Let me tell you, that cheesecake was SO delicious! It was creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best things I tried there. It was around $6, and while it was pretty small for the price, the taste definitely made up for it. I'd come back just for the cheesecake alone.The employees were also incredibly sweet and helpful. Since I had never tried ube before, they took the time to explain what it was and gave me recommendations. I appreciated that they helped me choose pastries and made me feel comfortable trying something new. I enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back to try more items from their menu. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and while not everything was a hit for me, there were some standout items that made the experience worth it.
I had this place bookmarked for so long, not sure why I never made it in until today! After dinner, my friend and I were looking for dessert options nearby and he mentioned Cafe 86 had a delicious "cupcake thing". Then I remembered I've been wanting to try this place, so we decided to grab our post meal sweets here. We ordered 2 flan cupcakes, 1 crack cheesecake and 1 regular upside down halo halo. Everything was so good. I devoured the halo halo and the cupcake. I will need to eat the cheesecake tomorrow, but based on how good the other two were, I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the cheesecake just as much. Now that I know what I've been missing out on, I'll be coming in as much as I can here on out lol.
My favorite place to visit whenever I am closed the City of Cerritos. Cafe 86 sell the most delicious Ube drinks, snacks pasties. One of my favorite is the their Ube Upside Down, Halo Halo. Service is superb and friendly. Sitting area was perfectly setup for short stop snacking... very casual inviting setting. Perfect for everyone to sit, relax and enjoy ube halo halo
The food here is definitely worth the 5 stars but I had to deduct one for the service. Came in on a Tuesday around 6pm and ordered 2 upside down halo-halo and although the place was not packed, we were not greeted or even acknowledged because the employees were too busy giggling with each other. We were standing in front of the cashier for a good few minutes before they asked us if we were ready to order.
I've visited this place before, and I'm always impressed by their consistency! My go-to order is the ube muffin topped with flan, paired with a large original Halo Halo on the side. We arrived around 12:50 PM, and luckily, they had just opened at 12:30 PM. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by an employee, and it was nice to have the place to ourselves for a couple of minutes until more customers arrived. Their menu is packed with a delightful variety of drinks, desserts, and sweet treats to choose from! I'll definitely be back soon to try their crinkle cookies and explore even more of their offerings. Definitely check them out! Keep in mind there's only about 2 tables and 2 couches (:
I visited Cafe 86 after being told that another Cafe 86 had some of the best and most authentic halo halo out here. The store itself is small and well-designed like a cool place to grab some drinks and desserts with a group of friends. The person working there was nice and made our halo halo quickly and well. Unfortunately, the halo halo was not very authentic and was very brown sugar heavy. I thought it was just ok.
We were in the area and decided to stop by. We ordered the ube cake, ube ice cream and halo halo. Honestly the cake was super sweet, I knew it would be but it was sweeter than I expected. The ice cream was really good, I enjoyed it. My fiancé ordered the halo halo and he loved it. He said it was really good, nothing was overpowering. Staff was also kind and helpful. We weren't able to sit inside though because space was limited.
First time visiting Cafe 86 with family for dessert! It's a tiny Cafe serving Filipino flavored desserts, coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. On a Sunday afternoon post lunch, there were just a few customers present. Our party of 5 was fortunate to get seats together. The turon pop tart caught my attention but I decided on something familiar which was a scoop of ube ice cream. Smooth, creamy and delicious! Fam members that got the same thing agreed. My cousin did get the turon pop tart but thought it's just okay. The gal at the counter that took our order was pleasant. There are brick walls and some Star Wars decor. The disability parking spaces were not close by in the plaza and already occupied. We managed okay parking in a regular spot that was next to a delivery/pickup spot that was clear. As far as regular parking spots, there were many on a Sunday afternoon. The plaza has a Market, a bakery, a restaurant, and shops nearby. I found out there is actually another Cafe 86 closer to me. This is a Cafe that I would introduce out of town family members to. 4 stars!

We got mahalo mango and strawberry calamansi drink. The mahalo mango taste more like a hibiscus cooler instead of mango taste, 3/5. The strawberry calamansi is way better and would recommend this drink 5/5. Each drink is around $6. We also order ube crinkles, the ube flavor is strong with buttery taste, and it breaks off easy. The churrochi ( mochi and cinnamon and caramel on top ) is so delicious and chewy, perfect for a snack! Service is friendly, it is a little busy. There are chairs and couch to seat so it's a cool hang out place. Parking is a little bit chaotic during lunch time since there are other good restaurants in the plaza. read more
I was craving a sweet treat and this satisfied it! I got the upside down halo halo, yummy and perfect! Had all the write toppings except it had boba instead of red beans which made it all the best for me since I'm not a fan of red beans. It was my friend's first time having an ube shake, she gave it a 10/10. Their boba is so soft and maintains its chewy softness despite how cold the drink was. Service was fast and efficient. The cafe itself is cute, good place to chat and hang around. Plenty of comfy seating. read more

My boyfriend and I stoped here for a traditional Filipino dessert, halo halo. However, unlike the traditional halo halo it was missing the red beans, crushed ice and it had boba which is not in the traditional halo halo. Overall, it was good, and the piece of flan was a plus. The service was quick the workers were so nice. Although our order was to go, the cafe looked like a fun place to enjoy a dessert at. read more

If you are a Ube lover and want to eat Ube drinks, baked goods and desserts, don't go anywhere and come to Cafe 86. You will be in a Ube heaven that you never want to leave. As soon as you enter the cafe, the Ube aroma is in the air that you can't help but buying everything on the counter. With beautiful lights on the ceiling, comfy sofas, two kindly explained menus, well air conditioned space, great display of the pastries and excellent customer service, what do you need more? My friend I visited on Monday after lunch and there wasn't any line and less crowd, which was so nice but about 3-4pm, they started to have customers forming a line. The staff were very calm and patient with the crowd and served everybody like a champ. We wanted to order more baked goods before we leave the cafe but were worried that they will be out of stock by then but the staff told us that they have more in the back so it won't be late if we order later. We tried the Halo Halo, Ube Monster Milkshake and Ube Crack Cheesecake. I would say if you order Halo Halo, don't order Ube Monster Milkshake because it's basically the same base just a different toppings unless you like plain Ube drink. The toppings of the Halo Halo was quite impressive and it gets better when you mixed them all and have the first bite. It is definitely a MUST!!!!! The Ube Crack Cheesecake was another homerun. It was soft and gooey at the same time and the Ube flavor was bomb. I can see why Chef Guy Fiery stopped by! Definitely going back for more! read more

Another great experience at Cafe 86. I was heading to a potluck and decided to bring a dozen ube/flan cupcakes to the party. It was a hit! I ordered online so when I arrived, I skipped the line and went straight to the pick up counter. Within seconds I had the goods. Such a great place. Trendy interior that can comfortably fit about 10 people, no outside seating. The latte's are made with solid quality espresso, but nothing that soars above and beyond. I appreciate the wide array of flavors they offer. The ube bar had good flavor. It's dense with a sticky consistency as are a lot of Philippine deserts. Wish it had more of a gooey brownie consistency instead of being on the hard side, but that's just a preference. I've primarily come by when the place was on the emptier side so parking has been plentiful for the big plaza it's located in. The service is a solid B, not exemplary, but it's professional for what you would expect a cafe to have. read more

Came here for dessert at the recommendation of my cousin. The place was packed. It's a small cafe located in a strip mall with other restaurants, bakeries, etc. All of the limited seating was taken but we planned to take it all to-go anyway. This place is known for ube everything! We all wanted halo-halo so everyone in our group of 8 got one or shared one among pairs + a few pastries (ube crinkle and flan cupcake). The halo-halo was great. Definitely their specialty. It had everything that I always want in a halo-halo: ube ice cream and flan. If you want extra ube-oomph, you can order an upside-down halo-halo with ube milk and vanilla ice cream. If you're really ube crazy, I would order an upside-down halo-halo and substitute ube ice cream! read more
Spent way too much money than necessary at this place. No regrets. I'm notorious for wanting a bite of everything. That being said, this is easily my favorite spot in this strip mall. Here's a list of what I ordered, some made it for photos and the rest went straight to our bellies. The OG Cafe 86 ube flan cupcake, ube truffle, ube crinkle, halo halo bread pudding, ube butter bar (MY NEW FAVORITE), ube oreo milkshake (delish), upside down halo halo (ALSO A NEW FAVE! So unique that they use an ube slushie as the base, tapioca pearls, green & red nata de coco, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, corn flakes, slice of leche flan... it's what diabetic dreams are made of), & a strawberry calamansi drink for the kids (almost like a strawberry lemonade, caffeine free). Everyone loved the upside down halo halo & the ube butter bar the most. Cute cafe with some seating & a comfy couch to lounge in. Really friendly staff & definitely your UBE one stop shop. I came here to ask if their was a seasonal/collab item and the cashier taking my order wasn't very nice or had another option to give me. Her customer service was very poor and she had an attitude. When i asked about other substitutes for milk she rudely pointed with a cold gesture. My ube latte tasted horrible to top it off. At that point i was afraid to order because I wasn't sure if she give me the wrong sub milk in my order. read more
Ube tres leches -ube flavored tres leches. Was okay. Was a little mushy Halo halo The vanilla ice cream and the corn flakes mix, love it. The mix reminds me of afters cereal milk ice cream. The blended ube was a little bland that mixed well with the jellies. I need more ube flavor in the blended ube, even though ube doesn't really have a flavor. Was a good experience . We've seen their upside down Halo Halo on IG, so we had to come try it. It's a small shop with a few couches and tables. They have coffee and a few sandwiches too. The halo halo was delicious! Better than most other halo halos I've had. The ube ice cream was good! You could really taste the ube. We also loved the perfect crunch from the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes. It's a bit above $8, but it's shareable if you want. Definitely something to come back for! Not overly sweet either. They do have napkins and water sitting out if you need to wash down the sugar. The bathroom at the back was jank. It had a very grunge feel. It's clean but old. Other notes: they don't take AmEx! Also, the parking lot right in front of it is tiny and kind of tight. Mmm the Ube truffle is the way to go. Coated in Oreo, filled with moist and delicious Ube, this messy treat is perfect. I've tried a few of the other desserts- cookies and cheesecake but I always go back to the truffle. It's looks like a small bite treat but honestly, it's so decadent, I usually eat half. There is usually a line but they always seem to have enough to go around. Even for a dozen, I didn't have to preorder! read more
I've been here twice so far and have tried their ube latte ( NO CAFFEINE BY THE WAY) that was a shock to me so I had to unfortunately dock a star for that one, and had their strawberry calamansi tea the second along with their ube cheesecake, the dessert was very yummy and exceeded my expectations, I've been on a real ube hunt lately so it's nice to see a spot use ube in unique ways rather than just drinks, it's nice to know they have other locations available but so far I've only been to this one. read more
We have been coming to Cafe 86 for years. It's located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. The cafe offers a few sofa seatings and a few tables with chairs and a window counter table with stools. The aesthetics includes some pretty cool art work and their restroom is always clean with cool aesthetics. My son is a big fan of their ube truffle. We have tried their ube bar, ube crack cheesecake, halo halo, upside down halo halo, trest lechese, ube leche flan cupcake, ube crinkle. Everything is amazing. I recently ordered their cookie butter latte and it totally hit the spot. Their customer service is super friendly, always willing to help. And their orders come out fairly quickly. We have become regulars here and will continue to come. read more
Service was quick, friendly, and helpful with first timer. Ambience is pretty small with seats for 2-4ppl. Halo halo was too sweet for me, but i liked most of the mix. Ube crinkles weren't too sweet n just right to finish one. Hibiscus Calimansi was given as a free surprise with order! Very appreciated, and it tasted pretty good. read more
If you LOVE (yes, capitalized "love" for emphasis) Ube, you need to check this place out! So many different drink choices and a ton of Ube pastries to checkout from pop tarts to cupcakes! I've been on an ube kick lately and I didn't realize Cafe 86 was under my nose this whole time! Love the aesthetic and vibe of the cafe, I was able to chill there and enjoy my ube monster, which was probably one of the best blended/milkshake drinks I've ever had. Still unclear why it's called an upside down halo halo but that's ok... it is delightful! Loved all the ingredients in this dessert (especially the ube). Everything goes well together! I love everything ube flavored and this place delivers. We got the ube monster milkshake, ube milk tea, and milo milk tea. The drinks were sweet and refreshing, the ube shake was rich, creamy, and had a deep ube flavor which I like. The place is clean and the staff is really nice. read more
This was ok for me, not that great. Customer service was good enough for young high school kids. I came with my boyfriend, nephews and nieces after dinner one night because they wanted dessert. We ordered a chocolate cupcake, ube butter (?) bar, flan and a halo halo. Everything was just ok, needs more ube flavor, halo halo was good, I liked that it isn't too sweet. Flan isn't as soft in texture as I'd like. Overall- ok but maybe it just isn't to my taste, try it for yourself and see :) read more

First time at this location. My sister placed an online order for us and we arrived a few minutes after they opened. Was surprised to see several other customers were also in line at that time, and also placed online orders. We ordered 3 mini sized halo halos, which was less than $25 before tip. I loved that my sister was able to customize her order online without the hassle of talking to someone, as she likes hers PLAIN, no boba, no jackfruit, no nata. Just cereal, ice cream and flan. I also learned that you can choose to have either vanilla or ube ice cream! The upside down halo halo was delicious as always, and is a great refreshing treat on a warm sunny day. Location was easy to find, in a busy shopping center near Jollibee! The cafe was decorated similarly to its chino hills location, with brick walls, some couch seating as well as regular tables & counter high seats. Will be back next time I'm in the area. read more

If you're craving anything with Ube, this is your place! I love their Halo Halo! I tried their Dragonberry Calamansi juice and it was thirsty quenching! It is more on the sweeter side but that was what I wanted! Their ube cheesecake is one of my new favorites! They have so many different desserts with ube. I want to go back to try more of their ube desserts like their ube cupcake with flan on top! read more

Got the calamansi juice and flan ube cupcake here! These two items were super delicious. I love the flan cupcake because it was so flavorful. It was the perfect amount of sweet for me. The service was great and the drinks came out fast. The inside of the store was pretty as well. Definitely worth a try!! read more

I reallly used to loved cafe 86..... used to, that is. I can't even recall the last time I actually loved it. But, I keep coming back hoping it'll be good again. It just keeps getting worse. So, I'm writing this as a reminder for myself to NOT order the grilled cheese or turkey pesto sandwich. Lots of cheese is usually preferred. But there still needs to be a good cheese:bread ratio. And it's not like this was a one off. It's probably been over a year since I enjoyed the food here. The sandwiches are so oily and the cheese!?!!!! ugh.... I really hate leaving a place hungry. I wanted to send it back, but you can't really do that in this setting. So, instead, we threw it in the trash and we're leaving here and hunting for dinner elsewhere. The monster drinks were also what kept us coming back. But they've become more and more just glorified vanilla milkshakes. Where'd the flavor go?? I'll come back for the monster eventually since those are hit But, I definitely won't be ordering a sandwich ever again. read more
At this location, I only tried the ube flan cupcake: so yummy! I refrigerated it for a couple hours, so the cake part was a little on the denser side (not sure how it is fresh), but it was overall delicious. I would recommend this to anyone who likes ube, flan, and cupcakes. Ambience is a little dark with their typical brick walls. There is a bit of seating for the smallish space. Service was kind. Only downside is that it is in the same plaza as Bopomofo and Pepper Lunch, so it will be tempting to get all three whenever I come by... read more
