Very disappointed in seating. Had a party of 9 but were told we could not sit together because we could not split the check so we decided to sit 5 and 4. Ended up seating each party on completely opposite sides of the restaurant when there was plenty of room for us all to sit in the same areas. 10/10 will not come back! The waiter even noticed I couldn't finish the soup. He looked at it in surprise that I didn't eat much of it, but never asked how the food was. Went to Pho Mein later and as usual the soup was very good. 1 Star soup. Broth was terrible. No flavor. Not like every other time I've had the soup. The pork was very tough and dry. Same with the chicken. Best part was the won ton which was average. Added soy sauce which helped a tiny bit. Usually the soup is reliable. Not sure what happened today. 2 star service. Was friendly. We ended up here, because so many other restaurants were closed. I'm glad we did, however. The spaghetti and meatballs were great and a very large portion. The chicken tortilla soup was good, and the server gave me 4 packages of crackers. We ate here last night and the food was great. The steak sandwich was delicious, although a tad bit undercooked (thus why I always order medium now rather than medium rare). Loved how they brought us a carafe of iced tea and water so we didn't have to wait for refills. It was not busy when we were there so the service was prompt and we had our food quickly. We came to Reno to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we saw Cafe Central and thought it would be a nice place to have lunch, we got in line and the young lady in front asked us many we were, she then never said anything so we followed her to a table. If I could, I would give this place -5 stars. Dont even know where to begin.... our server (Saul)... came for our order 15 min after we sat down. We came for breakfast, the menu was straight forward, we knew what we wanted min 5. He was overall VERY VERY slow and nonchalant. We started with drinks, a classic mojito and a bloody mary. No alcohol whatsoever in them. I kindly asked if we missed something and if they are for kids, we were told no, they have a shot. I insisted and he took them back for 'another shot'. Honestly they are either using the cheapest alcohol on earth or we've been lied to our face. Terrible! This place used to be a reliable late night/early morning place to grab a quick bite. If you're a local showing up from a graveyard shift be prepared to be treated like trash. Cafe Central didn't have the wait for a table at Silver Legacy, so the family and I came for a quick lunch before heading home. They were ready with the social distancing, face mask wearing, tables apart, servers with really nice and the quick. I just can't really give more than a 3 star because the food was just above my own lousy cooking. Kid got the chicken tenders, which is super hard to mess up. They were ok, fries were bad. Wife and the other kid shared the fish and chips, again, fish was ok, a sad face for the fries. I got myself some buffalo wings, again one of those things that's impossible so mess up. They were okay, so much vinegar that it hard my eyeballs with the wings over fried. I ate it, mostly cause I ordered it and hate wasting food. Don't know why this place has such a low rating. We ordered take out at the counter. Jaelyn was friendly and asked the right questions to get our order right. Forgot to take pix. Weird mix of great service, eye rolling prices and struggling food. I got pancakes and for some reason, the top cake was overcooked and hiding a beaten up cake underneath, as if it was flipped and tragedy struck. One bacon slice perfectly fatty and crisp, the other burnt. What gives? Also, giving a Southerner unsweetened tea when he asks for sweet tea is a crime against humanity. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE. A little overpriced, sodas were $4 if it tells you anything. I ordered 3 dishes. Total was about $70. Paid, left tip and went home. I check my account later and come to find out they charged me twice and on top overcharged me. A charge for 144 and another for 70. What is going on here? Really really shady if you ask me. I've disputed it with my bank and they will fix it. Good thing I had my ticket with the correct amount charged for proof. In a city that offers a lot of dining specials it is nice to come across a dining facility that delivers both great food and excellent service. I was very impressed with the service that we received here tonight. My husband had the Mongolian Beef and I had the wedge salad. Both were excellent choices! I sampled my husbands plate and it was very tasty and a great portion size. My wedge salad was also perfect! The waitress was Winni and she was so sweet and attentive. Well we just ate here about an hour ago. And I know that we are in the middle of a pandemic. But no excuses, play like a champion. So let's start with the positives. We did get seated rather fast. They did open the oyster bar for over flow seating. And that's was good. And once we received the check from the server we payed and were out fast. So two positives. Now for the negatives. The food was horrible. I ordered fish n chips. They came out and looked great. Sadly they were greasy and tough to the bite. The fries were about the same. They did bring cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. I would say about a half ounce container of each for three fish pieces. No ketchup. I might be picky about that. But I need ketchup for my fries.
