Cute little cafe on the corner of hwy 101 and oceanview st at 8 Bella beach dr. They sell a variety of art, handmade soaps, and painted rocks enjoyed while you dine. Mostly known for their sweet and savory crepes, coffee, and Tillamook ice cream, they offer breakfast or lunch of sandwiches and pastries that you can take to go or dine in. Inside there is a couch with a coffee table or a few table sets inside. Outside they have a tables as well if the weather suits you. In the back there is one large sandpit and a fire pit complete with chairs and wood, but no animals allowed for obvious reasons. The bathroom is chic and even has a stool for Littles to wash their hands. Fantastic pit stop for the Bella beach community. I am so disappointed in this café. We dined here in June and had the best crêpes ever. Fast-forward to the end of September now and we are visiting again and attempted to eat there yesterday morning and they had the crêpe machines closed down at 11 a.m. Was told it was just for yesterday, so got up twice as early this morning to make sure that it wouldn't happen to us again at 11 AM like yesterday and we were there at 9 AM and no crêpes yet again! Wondered why both days on a Friday and Saturday we went there and there were no cars out front and only a couple inside eating. This isn't the way to run a business! People are expecting you to make crêpes not shut it down on a weekend. Guess you're making enough money all year round to get you through the upcoming winter months when it's cold and rainy and miserable out and you don't have the patrons that you do during the summer and fall months . While in town for a long whale watching weekend, we found this adorable little venue. The food is excellent! Our waitress, Felicia (sp?) was attentive, charming & friendly. Tom was cooking in the back & came out to check that out eggs were over easy to our liking. Were so impressed that we had to visit a 2nd time before we left. Service was great, a bit slow, but also kindof a "mom and pop"-y place, so its to be expected... le citron crepe was JUST sweet enough, not too sugary-overpowering. Croque Madam was excellent! We timed to arrive to Depoe Bay on our way up the Oregon Coast at 9:00am when they open and the croissants are coming out of the oven. Timing is everything! Fig croissant, almond croissant, and a pain au chocolate- all amazing! I thought for sure I would be posting a five star review. The ambiance is so delightful...and other yelpers put up such great photos of the food! This was our experience. The food is solid. The baked eggs were lovely, made with actual creme, so they are rich and delectable. The service was pretty bad. There are only 4 tables. Two were not wiped down and two were full. We waited to sit...and then were able to peruse the menu. Specials are clearly posted at the entrance, which helped. We ordered: an americano with heavy cream, and a hot chocolate, as the photo on the menu was so lovely. It showed a lovely cup and spoon served with a Madeline. We ordered, as an appetizer, the fruit and cheese tray. For the meal. two baked egg entrees, a side of sausage, and for dessert, the strawberry crepe as there was a free one offered for check in on Yelp. I had a few concerns that she took our order partially on paper and partially writing on her arm. The waitress said she had the coupon noted. Coffee and hot chocolate came. Clearly, not the same presentation they show in the menu. Oh well....no big deal. We waited on the cheese and fruit tray. The waitress came to say our baked eggs were nearly ready...after 20 plus minutes. But, I said, we ordered an appetizer to fill the time. Ohhhhh....we have a substitute cook...they won't charge you for that. Well....it wasn't about the charge but...okay. Out it came, and the waitress, to her credit, said it indeed was HER fault as she never ordered it. She also never removed the charge. Well, orders on her arm I guess don't get in. The cheese tray is wonderful. It has a great selection of flavors. An explanation as to what the cheeses are would be nice, but it was tasty. Then quickly our eggs came. Again. Incredible. I am less than a quarter done and the owner asks if she can remove the cheese tray. Gee, we just got it. Noooo. Then not once, but twice, the waitress asks if I'm done while I am still actively eating. Then the owner does the same and asks if we want a to go box. I said no. At this point, I have had my pleasant quiet meal interrupted so much my stomach is turning. I never got the sausage, I guess, a casualty of her arm ordering system. I cancelled it. The owner asks again about a box and hubby says we are traveling so no. I gave up and handed her the bowl. Our dessert crepe comes..it is very good. My hubby pays, we leave. I ask him, you didn't pay for dessert crepe or sausage right? Hmmm. Yes, dessert crepe is $7.00. We went back in and owner removed the cost of the crepe. It is sad...as the food is great, the idea is wonderful... But service just won't let me give this five stars. 43 bucks later, I was frustrated and was gasping to see as we left, the "kitchen" is in a garage with the garage door half up. The female blonde barista was beyond rude. My family came just to order ice cream and she responded with eye rolls and extremely rude attitude as if we were inconveniencing her. Small indoor seating area with only street parking. The reasons we couldn't rate the place higher were the pears did not taste fresh at all and the server forgot silverware, drink refills and my husband's extra egg but this was remedied as able. Such a fun taste of France on the Oregon Coast! We had savory & a sweet crepes which were both very good. We asked about pastries, and our server said he could make some more as they had just sold out, but it would take about 20 minutes. He brought out our butter croissant, almond croissant and pan du chocolat just as we had finished our crepes and coffees. My husband said the butter croissant was as good as any we tried in France, and the almond croissant is worth going back just for that! Came by at 12:40 with my family of 11 for ice cream to be told that the kitchen had just closed because they were closing at 1. I asked why there was no sign outside indicating the plan for early closure, and the barista looked at me like I was stupid and told me it was the Fourth of July. Yeah, I knew that, which was why I had stopped by earlier to check their hours...needless to say we will not be returning. Looked for an amazing lunch experience and found this potential jewel. Wouldn't know what the food tasted like because the service was the most rude I have ever experienced. The waitress who said she was the manager too, was rude from the moment we walked in. We asked what the soup and quiche of the day were and she flippantly said them. When I asked if she could repeat the quiche she told me that she had just told me. I paused, and gently asked why she was being rude to which she turned and walked away and said she didn't need a lecture. We walked out. Really had wanted to enjoy a nice lunch. This is a lovely little bistro tucked away in the Bella Beach community. I found it because they posted a deal on Yelp, lucky me. It is only a few miles from my families house in Lincoln City. The location is small with about 5 tables inside total, the decor is cute and fun without being kitsy. The owner Penelope is a delight. M & I stopped in for brunch on a weekday. We each had a well crafted espresso. He had the croissant sandwich with turkey & swiss served with a side salad, I had a couple bites and it was perfect. I had the croque madam with fruit. I will get something else next time, the sauce was too mustardy for me but prepared well. The star of the meal was our dessert course a Nutella, strawberry, and whipped cream crepe, it was so light and delicious. I've had my share of creeps and this was one of the best I have had. The discount got me in the door, but the food will keep me coming back. For our coffee, lunch and dessert the damage was about $25 which was beyond reasonable for a leisurely brunch. read more

My sister and I took a much needed trip to the Oregon coast. We ate many delicious things and the food here was no exception. While maybe not the most traditionally French, if you let that go it was good! There's a coffee bar, friendly service, and good food. We had croque madams with spring greens. They felt more like an interpretation of it but it was good if not the most traditional. I'd return! There was not a long wait when we went for brunch. Plenty of street parking but we did miss the turn on the main street. It's a converted home and it's quite adorable on the inside! read more

We've patronized this eatery in the past and loved it! Nestled in an inviting neighborhood, this creperie has a very charming feel about it. The interior is cozy and it's quite a relaxing place to ease into your day on the coast with a tasty breakfast. Their crepes and coffee are definitely the best offerings on the menu. Today however, we were really disappointed with our experience, mostly because of how bad our server was. We overheard our waitress say to another customer that she's the niece of the owner. When my wife asked her if crepes can be made dairy free, she responded by saying, "as annoying as it is, it can be done". So my wife ordered a breakfast sandwich instead. My salmon melt sandwich was almost inedible. The smoked salmon was dry and the sandwich was drowned in Dijon cream sauce, which masked the flavors of everything else. I stopped eating it at the halfway mark and asked our same waitress to bring buttered crostini with jam instead. She came back with a croissant and then failed to pre-bus our dirty dishes for the rest of our meal, acting inconvenienced throughout her entire service. She's one of the poorest servers I've had in recent memory. We'll still come back because we love this restaurant, but I'll ask for another server if she's there. read more

Today I brought a friend to eat and we waited and waited for someone to come and take our order from the table. Great lunch visit. This little charmer is a bit hard to find--and that's really its only negative. I got the savory crepes with Carlton sausage, and my spouse got the seasonal sweet crepes with pear. Both were great. I also had a well-made cappuccino with Caffe Umbria coffee. Because we came late on a November weekday, we had the place to ourselves. Decor was shabby chic and if you are just getting a coffee, there's even a couch to sit at. Navigation tip: This restaurant is just north of Depoe Bay. You might want to look up the actual map and see where the streets are near it. There is a marked U-turn intersection allowed going north on 101, but Google thought that wouldn't work for this destination. I went even further north for a scenic jaunt through the neighborhood. read more
