I've been here a couple times. The food is fine. However it's cash only, they do not tell you and there is only a small sign inside to let you know. They have an atm that charges a fee. It feels like this is their way of forcing the use of the atm. Servers are always sub par. I asked for plain green tea. I got jasmine tea. My toddler was eating baby snacks and the server felt the need to tell my wife no outside food and we needed to hide it. My daughter is 12 months old she doesn't eat restaurant food. No servers recognizes any of us. We were waiting and no help was offered. After waiting over 10 mins, we left. A week later, we decided to call to place an order this time. I would have given 5 stars before this experience but this experience was so bad that my family and I will not go back. We had been waiting for about half an hour to be seated as a party of 3 and my daughter was parking her car, when the host/server called our name and quickly said she could seat us because our party was not all here. My husband tried to speak but she ignored/spoke over him calling 3 different parties of 2 that just walked up on booths that sit 4 people. It makes no sense, we could have been sat as a party of 2. There are policies but when you fail to consider the uniqueness of each situation and not even acknowledge the individual, that is not good customer service. She was completely rude and insensitive to the fact we had been waiting so long, quickly filled all the tables in this small cafe with people who just walked up. This place is very small but the food is really big. We actually could have shared a plate. I ordered the potato scramble with sausage. I did not care for the sausage it seemed over cooked and dry. My husband loved his ham scramble. The potato's have a great crunch on the outside. The offer 3 house salsas. I enjoyed the mild one as it had the most flavor, the hot and medium not a lot of flavor. I don't carry cash although I need to start. *Very dim hard to see the menu & in general since the windows are tinted to. *Not baby friendly very tiny and no changing table. *Yelp says vegan options there isn't an actual vegan plate but of course you can modify any plate to make it vegan and there are some vegan sides. We didn't have to wait long, they seated us fairly fast. Our server didn't really come by much. And it wasn't the same server lol My friend got a "garlic chicken something" and said she was disappointed she couldn't taste the garlic which I think could be by preference or maybe for all you garlic lovers ask for extra garlic. The raisin bread was really dry. The bread might have been hard already or over toasted. I got a "health sandwich" poorly made. I had to spread the avocado evenly because it was just slices as well as the other toppings evenly because my first slice had bread left over with no toppings. Don't you hate that!? My sister got a "potato omelette something" and she really enjoyed that and would get it again. Homemade salsa daily. PRICING was not that bad. Maybe a 1 or 2 dollar signs. It's a great atmosphere, not very loud. My friends and I had a good time but we probably won't go back. Well if you decide to go here make damn sure you have all your party with you otherwise they won't even acknowledge you. A friend was a little late but they won't sit you, they won't offer you a place to sit while you wait, they probably may not even let you use their restroom . Just poop in your pants kind of courtesy ! What happened to the hospitality of treating your cash paying customers a little respect and gratefulness. I don't use salt in general, but even I needed salsa on it because it was so bland. The sauces they had on the tables are actually tasty. French fries were seasoned ones and good. Lots of food, but I wouldn't be willing to order it next time. 4 toasts came. It fed 2 people. BIG. Nothing special. Grapefruit juice: REAL FRESH. They squeeze, not from concentrate. Everything was cold, when I mentioned it to the server, after a few excuses, he took the pancake back to the kitchen. He returned with a burnt pancake, missing some of the toppings. Cafe Cup is just a SOLID mom and pop breakfast spot. Just what you would want breakfast to taste like that makes you think of your childhood, and I'm saying that probably because I've been going here for nearly half my life. I've tried several dishes here, but my favorites are the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and the Apple Honey Sausage Scramble. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes are a Friday morning special, so I don't get to get them often anymore because of work. I typically don't even like pancakes but these were OMG. Literally a cinnamon roll in pancake form, yet not too sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness, cinnamon, and fluffiness. Apple honey sausage isn't usually available at many other breakfast spots so I always order it here. The scramble is not overcooked (the worst kind of eggs). It also comes with really good breakfast potatoes that are small and crispy, and not just huge, thickly cut potatoes where you're like...is this even really breakfast? My boyfriend always gets the ABC omelette which is great also. The service is always nice. I love the guy who brings the coffee - always super friendly and is just always there so nice to see!
