Oh man! What a gem! And well worth the wait and price. Use Yelp's waitlist tool to avoid having to wait outside the restaurant for a long time. I got the all-in-one burrito which has everything you could want in a burrito. Three meats, hash browns, eggs and avocado? You bet I'm all about that. My husband is a huge fan of the machaca con huevos but opts to get the eggs over easy instead of scramble which just brings the dish to a whole other level. read more

Most of the time I hate waiting in line for breakfast because you most definitely will be waiting, but occasionally this place is one of the few I will. They have a great chorizo omelette and the cafe de olla is so tasty. read more

3 hour wait for such horrible food??? Not at all worth the wait. High chairs have to belts and they didn't care to switch for the baby. Food tasted like garbage and don't get me started on their "cafe de olla" coffee. Made me throw up almost. Overall would have liked to rate it -1. read more

Our wait time was about an hour, but it was definitely worth it. Once we were seated, we ordered their cafe de olla. They made sure to keep our cups filled. Elsa, our waitress, was very attentive & hospitable :) I had ordered the chilaquiles divorciados (suizos & poblanos) with sunny-side up eggs, rice, beans, & queso fresco. The tortilla chips were crisp, the sauce was delectable & savory, and the rice absorbed all of the delicious sauce. We also got the berry crispy toast and it was perfectly sweet. It was pretty lively, and understandably so. 12/10, would go again. read more

I ordered online because of the ability to be able to specify gluten free on my items. The ordering was easy which was through chowhound and I double checked the order to ensure it was gluten free when I received the order confirmation. When it came time to pick up the order, the restaurant was super busy so I had to wait for my order for about 15 mins. I received my order and left. Unfortunately, the after leaving the restaurant I received a call for me to TURN AROUND because they had mixed up the order. They offered for me to just drive up and they will take the extra items and offered me an iced coffee for the inconvenience which is great because the coffee was sooo good. After finally getting home to eat, I saw the pancakes and didn't think they were gluten free so I had tested it with my Nima sensor and it came up positive for gluten. I tested it twice and both times confirmed gluten positive. So, I called chowhound to tell them that I wanted a refund because of the mix up and the representative asked me to test the other gluten free items I ordered and the chilaquiles also came up positive for gluten. ugh! Chowhound relayed the issue with the items to the restaurant and they requested that they speak with me directly. I explained the situation that both items were positive for gluten and the restaurant admitted that there could have been a mix up with the pancakes so they offered a refund for that, however he remained adamant that the chilaquiles are gluten free and would not refund me for the item even though it tested positive. CELIACS BEWARE, bring your gluten tester should you give this place a try!!! Unfortunately, we couldn't eat ANYTHING we ordered other than the coffee!! read more

I usually make my own coffee at home because I'm very particular about my coffee... but let me just say, BEST COFFEE EVER!.. Ordered Chilaquiles Pueblanos (sorry didn't take a picture) as soon as my plate arrived, I couldn't wait to dive in! The tortilla chips were so crunchy, just like I love my chilaquiles. Parking was a breeze. Only waited 15 mins to get seated (on a Tuesday) Our sever and all the employees were so friendly and sure made us feel welcomed. Definitely going back again! read more

This place isn't pet friendly. We came here with our HYPOALLERGENIC dogs and asked for a table in the shade as it was 83F outside and sunny, which is really hard on their paws. The table we were planning on sitting at was next to a group of people who asked the waiter to seat us elsewhere because they were allergic to dogs. If a restaurant is dog friendly, we should be able to sit wherever there is an empty table. We ended up leaving. Wouldn't recommend at all. read more

The flood was wonder and the service was greatI ordered the French toast with Nutella and strawberries (on the menu it's served with bananas but I substituted strawberries) and it was delicious! My boyfriend was looking for a place for us to have brunch, and he found this one, the food was amazing. The service was the greatest that I've received, the guy that took our order was such a nice guy I wish I could remember his name but we asked him for recommendations as it was the first time for us going to this place and everything that he recommended was delicious. They really do deserve five stars, but every time you come here there is a RIDICULOUS wait ! Your way around that you ask..? Call in and order for pick up! They've also recently joined "waitlist" which allows you to get a place in line before you actually arrive at the restaurant, this has improved the experience tremendously. Otherwise you're looking at a giant mob of anxious people waiting to get their grub on. Avoid snagging a seat outside for this particular reason. You can avoid the watchful eyes of those awaiting seating/food. The space is small but the turnover is high! You may be saying excuse me while navigating your way through elbows. You'll see servers hustling back and forth with piping hot plates, ample iced coffees and note pads filled with fresh orders! The walls are covered with several sayings and there's a lovely "day bed" sort of seating in the front window with plenty of pillows. It's really nice on a sunny day. Service is usually perfect, I've only had one subpar experience in all my time here. Here's a list of things you should DEFINITELY try: breakfast burrito-- this thing is packed with everything you could ever want in the morning. The tortilla is warm and fluffy, potatoes are seasoned .. just delightful. Original or iced cafe de olla -- beware, this comes spiced and presweetened so DONT add any more sugar. Poblano chilaquiles, these are probably my favorite over eggs over medium. Things to avoid, nothing. I haven't tried anything here that I haven't liked. I need to dabble in their French toast or pancakes, or even outside of breakfast. They seem to have so much to offer! I'll definitely be back to try more on a lazy weekday. read more

Delicious food menu, amazing café de olla, and really warm and lovely service. The staff there clearly wanted us to have a really wonderful experience, and kept checking on us to ensure that the light drizzle wasn't bothering us, we didn't need an extra umbrella put out for the outdoor seating, didn't need extra coffee or other goodies. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and banana Nutella pancakes, and everything was incredibly delicious. Would come back anytime! And don't forget to use the waitlist feature on yelp, because it makes it so easy to plan your meal and avoid a wait at this popular restaurant. read more

I love this place but only the Monrovia location. I have been to the Burbank location and frankly the food was not presentable, it had a weird taste to it and it made me sick. The Monrovia location is bigger than the one in Burbank & they make their own pastries. The food is good but I dare say the pastries are better. Their cafe de olla is delicious . read more

We're out here for vacation and obviously we like to look at places to eat on yelp. This place closes at 3pm and we got here at 12:15pm they told us they are not sitting anyone anymore because they close at 3! I've never been in a restaurant where they can't sit you 3 hours before they close. Ridiculous! You guys should at least let people know before they come. read more

A meal at Cafe De Olla is an unforgettable experience, not to be missed. It's a beautiful cafe, the food is fantastic, and you'll be thinking about it long after the meal is over. The All-In-One breakfast burrito was amazing. This burrito is more loaded than Chipotle's, and it leaves you feeling stuffed and behind satisfied. The avocado with cheese and hash browns just makes everything perfect. This meal was delectable, exotic, and incinerated everything in my intestines. My morning was an unforgettable thrill ride. 5 stars for the truly delicious food and unimpeachable service. If you're the kind of guy who took a star off because of the prices, this is Burbank buddy and the quality is just superb. Quality you can taste. If I could order every morning I would, but I'm too heavy and need to run instead. read more

A simply amazing breakfast spot!!! We came at around 11am on Sunday and the wait was 2 hours. We ended up getting a table an hour and half in which was nice. LONG wait but the food and coffee is definitely worth it! All the food was extremely flavorful and fresh. Every dish we got tasted amazing and we had absolutely no complaints. The coffee is to die for. I cannot stomach black coffee, but the cafe de olla tastes great with or without creamer! It has a sugar and cinnamon taste that makes it good to drink on it's own. The staff was nice and helpful. There was a lady constantly going around making sure our coffee cups were always filled up. Our server suggested items on the menu that we should try and gave great customer service. It was overall a good experience all around from the food, to the drinks, to the service. You should be prepared to wait awhile and find parking since it's on a main street with no parking lot, but it'll be worth it! read more

Pretty busy for a Thursday at 1 PM! We had to wait around 10-15 minutes for a table for two but service was fast. I ordered the Machaca Con Huevo, a dish with ground beef, beans, and rice. The dish is pretty plain overall but their salsa definitely gives it an extra kick (and cholula). The beef contains onions and tomatoes so there are a lot of textures that's perfect when filling the corn or flour tortilla that comes on the side. They serve breakfast all day in addition to their lunch and dinner menu which is amazing! Also, I would recommend substituting the beans with hash-browns for the machaca, it does cost extra but it's worth it! Overall, the food is just average but the prices are fair. read more

We had to request anything like water more coffee to or three times, while every other table got their coffees and water replenished often. We requested extra tortillas which was brought out to our table when our plates had already been picked, we have already finished eating. Not a bad place, our experience was bad. read more

Cafe de Olla is a small, family-owned breakfast joint that is as friendly and welcoming as it is delicious. The nondescript restaurant front does little to convey the warmth and liveliness within. My visiting mom and I dined at Cafe de Olla early on a Friday morning and both enjoyed a lovely dining experience. Although my mom initially planned to go "the safe route" and stick with scrambled eggs with bacon, cheese and avocado, she was beyond enamored with the chilaquiles poblanos (which we both ordered). The dish was simply perfect. The blend of homemade sauces with the tortilla chips and cheese was tantalizing. The entire experience was one that encouraged my mom to be bold and try new things - a true testament for greatness in a restaurant. The servers were helpful and accommodating. Their famed chilaquiles did not disappoint and the staff was more than humble while my mom showered on the compliments. For an added plus, the dish was only $11.50, a reasonable meal compared to a typical LA breakfast. This is a breakfast experience that is worth pursuing and that have already recommended to a friend (who has also visited, tried the chilaquiles poblanos and given her seal of approval). The first issue came when my matcha was made hot instead of iced and had to be remade. Even after the remake, it tasted like straight matcha powder and wasn't well mixed. The banana bread was served cold and wasn't warmed up, which was disappointing. What stood out most, though, was the cleanliness. As I walked into the shop around 7:30 a.m., the outdoor trash area was already overflowing. Inside, there was a trash can right next to the pickup counter that smelled bad and had visible stains all over it. For being so early in the morning, I was surprised that the trash hadn't been emptied or the area cleaned before opening. The salted cold brew cloud was decent, but overall the drinks, food, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Hoping this was just an off morning, but based on this visit, I wouldn't rush back.

I had passed by this restaurant before but had never been curious enough to actually stop in. This time their drink menu advertised outside caught my attention so I figured "hey, why not?" From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. The chile toreado was definitely spicy, it just needed to be salted a little more but otherwise no complaints! I need to remind myself not to be too quick to judge because I was genuinely surprised by this place. The décor wasn't fully my personal style, but the food and drinks more than made up for it. Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with a good menu and a really welcoming staff. I'd go back in a heartbeat to try the wings and pizza, both of which looked excellent when delivered to neighboring tables.

I visit this place last week and I really wanted to like since a friend recommended this place but my experience was horrible, everything went wrong, I will list a couple of thing that happened and made me never wanting to go back again. They told me the wait was 30-45 minutes since I really wanted to try the place I agreed. We arrived there at 11:15am and the out me in the waitlist, I wait for 1hr and I never receive the notification on my phone that my table was ready so I want to ask what was going on, the guy tolde oh you missed your table, and I said how come if I haven't got any notifications on my phone? He said show me your phone and I did and he did apologize and said give me few minutes I will give you the next table, does few minutes turn into another 39min. At this point I was already frustrated from all the wait but I remained calmed. Finally after almost 2hr we got our table, we order our food. My daughter order the French toast with fresh strawberry's, on the menu has the option with strawberry sauce or Fresh strawberry's and we specifically asked for Fresh strawberry's. I order chilaquiles and my husband also chilaquiles and my sun order pancakes. The food arrived after almost 1hr wait, we were starving after all the wait and the order of the French toast was wrong they send it with strawberry sauce instead of fresh strawberry's and we let our waiter know and he did offer to change it or just bring the fresh strawberry's on the side and my daughter said she was starving and didn't want to wait for another order so just said she just wanted the strawberry's on the side, he did bring the strawberries. And everything will be fine even do we didn't like the food, but when we got the check they charge $6 for the side of strawberries, I wouldn't mind if it was our mistake. I know $6 it's not a lot, it's just the principle that they supposed to correct their mistake. We didn't ask them to remove the charge we just paid and we still leave a good tip because we al way like to tip good. But honestly I wouldn't recommend this place. First of all I did a Yelp reservation because usually you have to wait for more than one hour and I tough it was going to be faster wrong I arrived with my family and the app said 3 people ahead of you perfect time, wrong they remove my name from the list saying you need to check in a least 30 min ahead , so what's the F#@k€n point of do the reservation if I still have to wait for almos an hour, YELP Need to consider this And also the owner of the place, either you "RESPECT" the reservations or remove that service from Yelp, I'm a business owner and like a owner I make try to make things right especially with a service online, if is not good for me or my customers I remove it. Once we where inside one of the waitress first guy from reception, no manners at all, he stated putting the utensils, with out saying excuse me or anything, The OWNER needs to teach the principals , manners before everything, you guys are in a restaurant, we are paying for your services, we are not getting it for free, I always tip a least $10 today I'm leaving tip just for the second waitress. (new guy) The only good thing, I was a new waitress he was awesome paying attention serving coffee , because the girl who started taking the other , she just forgot about Us But she was good to ask for the check!! I've been here twice now and honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. They have the feature where you put your name down via Yelp and they give you an estimated time to come in, which basically means nothing. The first time I used it, and the estimate wasn't even close. We put our names down at 10:30, it said to come in at 11:45, and we weren't seated till 1:15. The hostess said that app is not reliable and we're better off just coming earlier and putting our names down in person. So the next time, I showed up at 9, and they said it'd be about a 45 min to an hour wait and we were not seated until 11:45. Every time I went back to ask for status, they seemed bothered that I was asking. On top of everything else, they ended up giving my table to the wrong person so we had to wait even longer. You're probably wondering why I even stayed...well, I'm stubborn and my friends really wanted to try the place, so I decided to wait it out. Not worth going back a third time, though. The first time was cool because they gave us free refills on the cafe de olla (which was actually very good). Well, that's not a thing anymore. The food is pretty pricey and nothing mind-blowing, so definitely not worth the wait. Also the place is very small, cramped, and loud. Maybe if you're going during off-peak hours when it's not busy, but avoid it at all costs during the weekend. read more

My wife and I were looking for a cozy spot, and this place truly delivered. I went for the Huevos Rancheros, and they were exactly what I was craving.
