The shop has indoor and outdoor seating, if you wanted to dine-in and is located in the Japanese Village plaza. Green tea (3/5): The dough is really fluffy and there's a bit of filling inside the donut but I couldn't really taste the matcha. The donut has sugar coating outside, so I think it was too sweet overall. I would have preferred it without the sugar outside the donut but I did like the soft dough. OG Roti (3/5): This donut was okay. The outside was crispy/crunchy, and there's some filling inside but overall it wasn't anything special. Probably wouldn't order this one again. The coffee is delicious. I goat an oat milk latte and it was smooth. The person taking our order was super helpful. The rotis stuffed with cream are delicious. I got the Snowball and husband got the pumpkin pie. We both loved it. We also got the sausage donut. The sausage is hot dog. And the addition of onions is a little weird. We definitely enjoyed our beverages and sipped them very quickly. I really liked the Spicy Korean Cheesesteak sandwich which was on a fresh, crunchy baguette - and had a plethora of textures with the marinated meats, kimchi, snd slaw. The Koko Churro was great too, BUT the ingredients were not correctly listed! I almost died because I have a severe allergy to walnuts. The label only listed "tapioca dough fried and coated with cinnamon sugar." (See attached photo to this review.) I had to ask the staff if there were nuts in the pastry. Food containing nuts should be correctly labeled! Hopefully management reads this review! I had to leave the cafe and inject an EpiPen to avoid anaphylaxis. I am a huge fan of matcha & was excited to try Dulce after hearing great things from a friend! I ordered an iced blueberry matcha latte with oat milk & a regular matcha latte to save for the next day. Their matcha tastes high quality, as can be expected from how dark green it is! I thought the blueberry matcha tasted more floral than blueberry, and had more of an artificial berry taste to it. Although I didn't have the regular matcha latte cold--you can ask for no ice if you won't be drinking it right away-- I thought it was better. Their matcha lattes pair perfectly with oat milk. They also have other milk alternatives like almond at an extra cost. Since we went on a Sunday, it was pretty busy. The line was long but moves quickly. Our drinks were out within a few minutes also. One of my 2025 goals is to post on Yelp with every place I visit. As someone who reconnected (very seriously) with cooking and especially baking in late 2023, trying new places is very fundamental to the process. Just like I am dedicated Letterboxd user with my logs and reviews, Yelp will be the second. Started off the new year at Cafe Dulce. Located in Japanese Village at Little Tokyo, the place is very cute but on the small side. There's only bar seats available but there's also outdoor seating. There was a long line when we arrived but even though it didn't move as fast, we didn't wait that long. The servers were really nice and patient, especially since I am someone who orders a lot when I am trying a new place as you see in the photos. They have a VARIETY of pastries available that it's a bit overwhelming but I easily made good choices. Unfortunately, they don't list the name of their pastries online but some I am certain of some names. 1. Brick toast - Starting off with the Brick Toast. This is my sister and her boyfriend's favorite item from this cafe. I will say it taste good but they hyped it up too much. It tastes like crunchy brioche. Nothing too spectacular but that doesn't mean not tasty. A nice subtle cream in between I learned is honey mixed with other ingredients makes dessert come alive. 2. Chocolate chip cookies - Pretty solid. I prefer my chocolate chip cookies more on the softer side in the middle and crunchy on the outside. This texture was a bit too rough but the chips they used tasted of better quality and the nice sprinkle of sea salt is an amazing touch. 3. Brownie - Finding a delicious brownie is very hard. I have yet to find the best brownie. This one was a bit too rich and the texture a bit too thick. This time, the salt didn't help as I felt they sprinkled too much. 4. Carrot cake - After making a cake recipe 3 times and perfecting it, it's a bit more hard finding the same cake flavor that beats your #1. Danielle Rye's carrot cake recipe I have made is the best so far. For cafe Dulce's, I would have preferred with cream cheese frosting instead of buttercream as carrot cake and cream cheese is the perfect combo like red velvet, and I felt the spices were too strong in this cake. However, it was very moist. I would actually entertain the idea of getting it again though. Weird, I know. 5. Oreo Cheesecake - This baby was the unexpected SCENE STEALER. I have had my share of bad Oreo cheesecakes so I was scared when I ordered this. The cream cheese in the cheesecake is marvelous, and paired with the Oreos blended in and some fudge frosting on the top all came together deliciously. One of the best cheesecakes I have tried. 6. Strawberry jam donut - This had chopped strawberries inside with some jam. Nothing new. It tasted identical to one of my favorite donut shops. 7. Trinity of chocolate cake - The description makes it out be more spectacular then it is. It's 3 different types of chocolate in one: milk, dark and white. It's an ok cake. Not much of a fan of its texture being more similar to tres leches and I really couldn't taste all the types of chocolate. 8. Breakfast burrito with bacon (add avocado) - This is flour tortilla with bacon, scrambled eggs, spicy mayo, potatoes, cilantro, red onions, cheddar and jack cheese, and salsa. Only 2 critiques! First, I wish the tortilla was on the thicker side and second, I prefer hash browns in a burrito over potatoes. I also couldn't really taste the spicy mayo but just an observation; not a critique. This ranks pretty high on my burrito list so far, even with those critiques. 9. From yelp pictures, it looks like this is labeled strawberry cream donut but the raspberry flavor bursts in your mouth, from the cream to the bread itself. An interesting dessert but not my cup of tea. I feel I'd like the Oreo one more. 10. Fruit tart: bought this for my parents because I'm not a fruit tart gal! They enjoyed it. Overall, this has become one of my favorite places and I will definitely be back for a burrito again and to go through all their desserts. A 4-5 stars from me for a place means two thumbs up. read more

Came here around 7 am on a Tuesday morning, and was surprised that there was a good amount of people in line or that had just ordered! Looks like people come here before work. The service was pretty quick, which isn't too surprising since most of their baked goods were fully stocked. Me and my friend decided to eat outside, and they brought her breakfast burrito to her! Nestled in little Tokyo this cafe offers a unique and tasty variety of donuts and pastries. It was definitely tough to make a choice but I ended up going with the coffee donut. I love coming to Little Tokyo in DTLA and when I do, like most of my days, I like to start it with coffee. Cafe Dulce is definitely the best coffee shop (and bakery) in Little Tokyo :) With excellent coffee drinks & some of the best pastries around I recommend you make a stop here. I had a Gibraltar & Brick Toast (house-made loaf, topped with condensed milk, butter, and sugar. Baked twice) OMG the Brick Toast is sooooooo good!!! My Son chose the Dulce Latte and a Fruity Pebble Donut. We enjoyed everything :) The staff is very friendly, an immaculate shop with seating inside & outside on the plaza. I might have wanted a little more meat/sausage, but overall it was still a solid burrito. I went with my friend right after the Dodgers parade, so the restaurant was the hectic and busy. We had some communication problems with my order, but they were resolved by the team. I went to the silent Hill F launch and they were so nice I just know they were overwhelmed. They predicted my order(How could they not lol) and they still had a great attitude.I went again a few weeks later and now that the launch was over I could actually enjoy the ambience that they had. I've been here many times, and roughly half the time I order from a sandwich menu, I open the bag to find a surprise that is...not what I asked for. One day, I will order a Jamon sandwich and get a burrito. Then the next day, my burrito will transform into a breakfast sandwich. Today, I ordered the breakfast sandwich and got a Jamon instead. I have always loved Dulce -- I go to the one in the USC village a lot -- but I recently went to their adorable location in little Tokyo and I was so thrilled to see they have muffins! They don't have muffins at the village location. This Macadamia matcha muffin was other-worldly. I started eating it when I got home and I had to take a photo of it. It was so fluffy you can't even imagine unless you try it yourself. Perfect balance of Matcha and Macademia flavors. They go so well together! I ordered the premium matcha latte and was disappointed by the flavor. It tasted less than mid despite the vibrant green color. My friend got the Blueberry Matcha Latte, which tasted like cat food and left a bad taste in my mouth. Initially we thought it would have a layer of fresh blueberry puree at the bottom but asked the barista who kindly explained that they use a matcha powder that is pre-mixed with blueberry powder. They ordered it anyway, because they had heard it was their specialty drink. We were hoping to try the pastries but there wasn't much of a selection. It was 8am so perhaps they were still being baked. I am glad other people enjoy this cafe but I don't plan on returning. Glad I gave it a try and hope they continue to do well!
