I have frequently visited this location and I can honestly say Cafe Express is a very very good spot for lunch. I got the Sandwich & Soup Combo with the Half turkey sandwich that had a side of Turkey Chili. First off this is one the few places that sell Turkey chili YEAR ROUND!!!! I can always count on them to have what i need when I need it. The turkey chili is tasty believe me when i sat TASTY !!! The sandwich was just a sandwich nothing special unfortunately. I wish it came with some sort pesto sauce or sundried tomatoes or something special about it. Overall though you wont be disappointed read more

My mom and sister ordered the club sandwich with sweet potato fries Good thing they split it because there was so much food they still had leftovers! I ordered the hummus which we all shared. Fresh and tasty. The have condiments such as olives, pickles and pickled carrots at self-serve station so you can spice up whatever you get. Beverages are for you to access with free refills. We order here for lunch at least once a month at work. Today is the second time I've gotten sick after having the chicken orzo soup. Im typically unsatisfied with the Caesar salad too, lots of big chunks of what I consider the inedible part of the lettuce and only 1 or 2 croutons. The dressing is fantastic though and you can order extra croutons but should come with more initially. Never having the chicken orzo soup again although I like it , it messes my stomach up terribly and Im not sure why. The only reason I can come too is it is not being held at temp correctly or is past it's date, either of these would mean its full of bacteria and would def cause stomach issues. read more

Last week, I ordered one of my usual choices, Triple Deli Salad, and it came out 1/3 the size it usually is. I was shocked. Also, the condiment bar did not have olives, a customer favorite. When asked, I was given a small cupful from behind the counter. I don't like these apparent frugal measures. I dislike it when restaurants change their menu. There's a reason I go there. I expect the best. I have been disappointed with the quality of food here, as well. I'm hoping that this location is not representative of all. My husband ordered a cup of chili and roast beef sandwich with fries. I ordered the half baked chicken with green beans and Brussel sprouts. My husband was extremely disappointed in not only the cashier and how she took the order but his food as well. He asked for the gluten free bun and she talked him out of it. He said the chili was the worst he'd ever eaten and the cup size is only a ramkin which he felt was over priced for the amount he received and when he took the two huge pieces of supposedly toasted baguette off the sandwich to eat it was one small piece of roast beef and some cheese. The fries ended up being only 10 measley fries. So for $16 he's sure they made at least $15. My how the menu/value has changed. My meal was the same as usual because I always order the same thing, the green beans were tender and i love sprouts so you can't really mess them up. Chicken was a little smallish but good. The Sweet Potato Fries here are ON POINT! They're the right amount of crispy, so they're HELLA delicious. Many times when I come on a budget, I just order the Kids' Meals, and then I stock up on their free pickles. Free pickles are LEGIT. Their pastas are DA BOMB. Burgers are commendable. I agree with Jolyn! This place really isn't the greatest. I think several years ago, when they first opened, they really knew what they were doing. But now... you pay over $8 to eat plastic noodles covered with Ragu sauce. Seriously, I don't know how my brother orders that... Their soup is funky tasting (but I'm sure thats everyone's own opinion). The only thing I order here is the baked potato because how can you go wrong with a baked potato... I just eat more when I get home later haha. I think this is a good place if you really don't care about the food and you just want a good chill dinner with some friends. The insurance company I used to work for ordered Cafe Express for over 20 people. They were pretty good at completing this order and having it picked up on time! I've been eating at this Cafe Express for years and always really enjoy my food. It can get really crowded here at lunch time, which can make walking around, trying to get your drink, silverware, condiments, food, table, etc. kind of annoying. But the food is great! I usually get a sandwich, but their burgers, pastas, soups, and salads are good too. Lots of options! They have delicious sweet potato fries and large enough portions to either get you really full or allow you to have leftovers. Win-win. The ambiance is nice with high ceilings and lots of light. The only thing I don't like is that they leave carts of dirty dishes just sitting around the restaurant. I know those carts make it easier to clear tables more quickly, but nobody wants to sit next to a cart full of half-eaten food and ketchup-smeared plates. Not appetizing. I adore the condiment bar here, I always get a little cup of pickles, capers, and roasted garlic for my appetizer. Overall, great option for lunch or dinner. read more

My group had the black bean burger (not flavorful in itself but the whole combination was good and I would order again), chicken salad sandwich (tasted extremely fresh but was not flavorful-overrun by bread), tuna salad sandwich (same critique as chicken salad), sweet potato fries (served one step up from cold and were totally soggy), and the fresh fruit cup (fresh and tasty). The place was dirty at 3:50 on a Sunday afternoon when there were no customers in the place and they were still visibly staffed. Tables were not cleaned, drink station was disgusting, and floors were dirty. When I see employees with time of their hands standing around, and the front of the house where the customers can eat and see looks like it did, it tells me that they probably don't take care of the hygiene in the back either. Breakfast Review I like Café Express for lunch but due to their coupon deal I wound up there this morning for breakfast. The coffee was decent but the rest of the meal was poor. I ordered the sausage scramble. First problem was timing. After ordering, I got my coffee and stood, with my buzzer thing, near the counter and watched as what turned out to be my order sat on the counter cooling. After a couple of minutes I asked the counter-person, if that was my meal as my buzzer hadn't buzzed. She checked something and I buzzed and was given my meal from the counter. I sat and ate. I only go to Cafe Express for the convenience and for group dinners. This time I got a salad, soup, sandwich combo. The potato soup hit the spot - creamy, flavorful with melted cheese and bacon on top. Next time I will get a bigger cup and make that my meal because it was delicious. The salad was pretty standard, I got the caesar salad over the house salad. When I ordered my sandwich, I asked if I could get my chicken salad sandwich grilled, but the cashier had a hard time understanding me. She had to ask a fellow employee and she got it when we said to toast the bread. My boyfriend ordered the elk buffalo burger and really enjoyed it. Service is OK, not overly friendly but they take your order and give you suggestions if you ask. There is nice outdoor patio seating but beware of mosquitoes! My favorite place for salads has been Cafe Express. Until now. I visited this location for lunch where I ordered the penne pasta salad. I notified the mod, and was taken care of right away with no problem by Adolfo. Adolfo didn't think twice before accommodating me. He even walked my food out to me, and that my friends is excellant service; for that I am a return customer. I ordered the "triple deli" with tuna instead of the chicken salad, and it was really fresh. The portion size you can eat off for at least 2 days.
