My friends, and I came with our daughters after a cheer competition. First of all, the male host was inappropriately staring at our young daughters with their cheer uniforms on. Whenever we were ready to order we asked if there was a children's A-Le-Carte taco option and they said "of course," we asked for one order with rice and one with out, and they gave us both rice so I ended up paying an extra 6 dollars for rice that I never asked for. Then, they charged us for every single topping, tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce. What kind of taco comes with just meat? The food was average, but extremely expensive, and the service subpar at best. It's rare that I come in to downtown Dallas for any type of business...but, I had to attend this robotic competition that my son was taking part in at the Convention Center which is right across the restaurant. I've had veggie fajitas at other restaurants which are very basic and the flavors are at times just plain or blah and to make it up, you have to add lots of sour cream or salsa to give it taste. Man, these are far one of the best ones I've had...when I added sour cream on my taco I had created...it was not to add flavor...but to compliment it. Still being new to Dallas, I ask people for food recommendations... when I realized it was in front of the Omni, I thought it was an odd rec because maybe it was a "tourist spot." I was able to find the first spot on the street with meters, so I cannot comment on the parking/valet because I may have gotten lucky. The restaurant was open and clean. We showed up right in the middle of the Mexico-Germany World Cup game, so it was busy but we were still able to get a table right away. Service (considering we were alllll focused on the game) was decent. I asked for the make your own Bloody Mary bar option and was served a normal, already made, Bloody Mary and did have to wait a tad to get the waiters attention so that I could get the correct order... but even with the mistake/time, I will say the make your own bloody mar bar was awesome!!! So many options from mixes, to hot sauces, pickled vegetables, two types of bacon (thick and normal), avocados, and even little cocktail shrimp! Food came out quick, hot, and correct. I really enjoyed it here. I had the shrimp enchiladas. It had a spicy green sauce. The rice and beans were also very good. My wife had the chimichanga which came with shredded beef. It too was very good. Service was adequate but nothing to write home about. The restaurant is located between the convention center and the Omni hotel so it is a great location if you are downtown. My only real complaint is that the air conditioner blew directly on the tables and cooled the food down quickly. This is a place I would recommend. read more

This place was able to accommodate my large party of 20 on a Saturday evening. This place has one of the best chips and salsa in downtown Dallas. The chips were not greasy or over salted. The food was good. I would have given 5 stars, but I ordered the shrimp fajita platter & there were only 8 medium size shrimp on my hot plate. The staff was friendly & welcoming. We were in town for a large convention (80k people) and stayed at the Omni. Tried to eat here for dinner but they had a long wait and weren't allowing people to wait in their lobby. It was 20 degrees outside so we left. Went back for lunch the next day and they had a limited menu. The salad I ordered was ok, salsa was really good. Guac was just ok. Limited menu was kind of boring. They didn't have normal service, you had to order at the bar and they bring it to you, but I was pleasantly surprised, the service was pretty good. read more

So we wanted to sit outside and the hostess told us there was only one server outside (weird but whatever) she said order from the bar and take it outside. Well we did. The bartender was so slammed however that we couldn't even get chips. So me sitting around waiting at the bar Tosha, not even a server mind you (she needs to be a server, you don't have someone on your staff this great and not have her serving people!) saw me looking lost and a little frustrated and took it on her self to help us out and get us chips, refills and also did everything she could to change this 2 star to a 5 star! She was AMAZING AND TRULY CARED when she didn't need to AT ALL! Also Brian the manager stopped us on the way out and apologized and informed us that is not how his restaurant is suppose to be run. We waved our hands to signal that there were several folks in line to be seated, so after 10 minutes we said goodbye to the cooks that were hard at work in the open kitchen. I only read 1 review before my wife and I went here for lunch. And it was spot on! The wait staff took the time to get to know us by first names. As well as we did them. Kelli & Jaime we're the best! We ordered the Mariposa & Maximo Margaritas along with Pescado Tulum and Bistec A La Mexicana. Both very good meals. Having the best experience was enhanced by the owners Caroline & John came to meet us and wish us a happy Anniversary. They were so nice! We'll be back next time we're in town for sure! read more

This place is absolutely Delicious! The ambience is so trendy and hip during the day and at night somewhat romantic. Great location! They have underground parking and as long as you eat or drink in the restaurant they will validate your parking ticket so you park for free. I have only been during my lunch hour so I cannot review their bar or cocktails. The food is amazing. I love their cheese enchiladas, tacos, and tostadas. Their chips and salsa is good as well. They serve an avocado/tomatillo dip along with your salsa and chips that is awesome! Definitely worth giving this place a try. It will have you going back. read more

Great location next to The Omni and Dallas Convention Center. I'm sure they lure in out of towners like fish from an aquarium. We arrived Friday night on Dallas' biggest college football weekend of the year. There were 110-120 customers seated, most waiting for service. They had 5 cooks working the line, no problem, but they had ONE waitress and ONE bartender. What a disaster, it took 35 minutes to get my bottled domestic. Like a pro, I went ahead and ordered my next drink. The menu read like this was something special, but the food tasted like chain Tex-Mex. My dining partner, who can handled heat, claimed the carne asado was too spicy to be enjoyable. My enchilada plate was meh. A few plusses: My margarita, the one made with Texas pepper syrup was incredibly flavorful and all the mixed drinks were quite strong. The chips were addicting and the queso was ok. read more

My wife and I were staying at the Omni Downtown and since we had reservations for dinner at Black Ship next door, we thought that we would grab a margarita here before. It was a good choice because the bartender was both engaging and also solid at putting together two good drinks. I had a regular margarita and my wife opted for one of the flavored ones that was a special on the menu because it won an award at a recent competition. The chips and salsa were also excellent. Food is 4 stars, service is 3. We popped in here after visiting the Reunion Tower since we were sticking around the area and needed some lunch to power through the remainder of the day. From the outside, the doors can be a bit confusing but once you figure it out, you're greeted by a bunch of seating and a nice bar area. The menu ranges from tacos to enchiladas, to margaritas. My enchiladas were good and plentiful. My friend's shrimp tacos looked outstanding. Our waiter, however, had a difficult time figuring out what exactly we were ordering even though we were pointing at the menu. At the end of our meal we requested separate checks. While the amounts were correct, it took our waiter AND a manager 10 minutes to process my credit card. My card was no declined, the system appeared to be working fine (I could see them doing their thing), but it still took a great amount of time to swipe and authorize the card.
