I asked the server if they have the matcha latte. She said "of course, we can make any tea into latte with an up charge" I was ok with it. She bring out the matcha ( green tea) I tasted it and it was completely just green tea. I asked her if what I'm drinking is their "matcha latte" She looked at the drink then " oh let me get you some milk and cream" Uhmm what???? *Review is based off office event we had My colleague had her baby shower here -- I had no idea Cafe Intermezzo had a room for it! I guess it's more a private room for a party to happen if someone requested it. Parking - Massive lots all around the area. Cafe Intermezzo is in the middle of the plaza.... I feel like. The room we used for the baby shower is massive. Definitely lots of room to sit and walk around. We personally had a few round tables lined up & had chairs across each other. They also have booths. We just left our stuff there. We had maybe 15 girls... This room can easily probably fit 30+ people. Our main server was Thaddeus. Nice guy. Food - we had hummus (with greens like celery, etc), southwest egg rolls, crab cakes, quiche, and other items. My colleagues thought everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the hummus & southwest egg rolls. Other items I usually don't eat/allergic so, I couldn't try. Drinks - Mimosas, coffee, others were all great. The fun part - we each were able to select dessert. SO GOOD. The person in charge explained the names of the dessert & the ingredients. I had the the Tiramisu. YUM. I think maybe my Top 3. Like the Buckhead location better, but fret not because the same quality and deliciousness of food is maintained here. Plus, our server was attentive and friendly. Downside? Two: 1. The lady by the dessert counter wasn't so friendly and seemed reluctant to tell us the desserts. Yes, a bit much to ask what they all are - but my boyfriend has never been, and in Buckhead when I went for the 1st time, they were more than happy to patiently go over what was in the dessert case. 2. Area was a bit deserted in the week, but seemed more alive on the weekend. It's a great place to stop by during the day to grab a bit to eat or some coffee/dessert, as well as a nice romantic place to go on a date, or if you're just trying to have a low-key night with friends. The coffee and desserts are great. Every time I go the drink menu overwhelms me a bit though, because it's seriously like a novel that you have 5 minutes to read before your server comes back around and asks you what it is that you want to drink! ;) I don't eat there much, but have had a few of their paninis/wraps, which are pretty good also. None of my trips to Atlanta is ever complete without a trip to this restaurant. It is both intimate and open. Comforting and comfortable with food that is delicious and decadent. The large drink selection is also spot on- hot and cold alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. On to the food...I'd give then four stars for the soups I've had, the butternut soup is amazing and inspired me to make my own at home, and the lentil bean is good. On the other food, I'd stick to the pasta dishes. I had the mango chicken wrap once: it had too much liquid and sweetness and I didn't taste the curry mayo or cayenne that was supposedly in it. Been to Cafe Intermizzo many many times, love it! Very cozy and intimate place. They do have the best hot chocolates! The beverage menu feels like a little booklet - they have every single beverage you can think off, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Last time I went I got the chicken florentine crepes ( did not quite enjoy it, too much cream and sauce - the crepes were pretty soggy), my friend got the turkey and brie crepe and really enjoyed it. Interesting fact: there is a "Learn Japanese 101" tape playing in the bathroom, which encourages you to repeat back phrases and words after a native speaker says them aloud. read more

The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with relaxing music and dim but sufficient lighting. I've had trouble a few times with my coffee order, either it taking a long time after cake was delivered or the wrong flavor. It's never been a terrible wait for a table. I actually prefer this location of Cafe Intermezzo to the one downtown since it's not quite as popular or insanely busy. The menu is virtually the same, and the great selection of desserts and coffee drinks are there as well. The service at this location is similar to the one downtown, which isn't a good thing. If the service could ever live up to the European style and those great desserts, I'd be willing to go there frequently. I still say that they charge way too much for their coffee drinks. You're almost paying Starbucks prices for drinks that are much smaller. A normal coffee drink here is about 8 oz. of liquid, which is a third smaller than a tall/small at most coffee shops. Don't be shocked when you're paying a few bucks for a drink you can down in a couple of minutes. read more

This is a good place to meet up friends after dinner. We don't usually go here for food, and strangely enough not for the coffee either. It's usually late (past 8pm) when we are here so coffee isn't usually on our mind. It is always packed. Usually there is a line. On this particular night, we ordered: Strawberry hazelnut crepes: crepes was too thick. I like my crepe light and fluffy. Chicken jambalaya was much too salty. Strawberry margarita was so sweet, I had to dilute it with water. Belgian hot chocolate: this is a must. Not too sweet, just right. The ambience is nice if you are in the right mood, otherwise it is too noisy to carry on a good conversation. I think it's a bit trendy and over rated for the most part. However, this place is convenient if you are in the perimeter area. read more

It has the best ambiance for first dates, date-nights once it gets official, bday celebrations, just any occasion really. They also stay open pretty late on weekends. Although known for their extensive beverage list they do have a food menu. Definitely check out the hummus platter and the crepes. The sandwiches are good too for lunch. Though, stay away from the croissant/chicken salad sandwich (croissant tasted like it was defrosted). They used to have hookahs here too, but they don't it anymore...boooo read more

Went in for a late dessert with an old girlfriend to catch up -- and we had an incredible experience. We were greeted kindly by the hostess who found us the perfect spot outside by the fountain. The ambience is refreshing. Alex was our server and he was extremely knowledgeable about all the drinks/coffees and desserts - his recommendations were perfect. We were there well after closing (sorry guys) but never felt rushed and had A+ service. We even did a little photo shoot in the vintage phone booth outside on our way out. Went here for my birthday celebration this year in December, but unfortunately had a bad experience. My boyfriend reserved space for a larger party (15), filling-in paperwork prior and even providing a credit card. So it was a big surprise when the hostess couldn't even find our reservation. Our group was put on the cold patio, with a bunch of the little bistro tables smushed together. We decided to just make the best of it. However, the service that followed was even worse. It took 45 minutes to get drinks out - if you got your drink at all. The serve was confused about basic items on the menu. For instance, I ordered a $14 glass of Moet Chandon. She brought me cava that was $7 and when I told her it wasn't what I ordered - she told me I was wrong. Finally she got me the correct glass of champagne, but took what she originally gave me away. Apparently, rather than celebrating someone's birthday Café Intermezzo thinks its fine the birthday girl can sit there for 45 minutes waiting for a drink to be corrected. The entrees quickly followed, which messed-up the flow of everything. Wrong entrees were brought out, some didn't get their food, and others still waiting for drinks. Food was bland and ok at best. My boyfriend had to talk to the manager on a number of occasions during our dinner and while she did offer us a discount - it really doesn't fix the actual event. Get the almond tiramisu! There is no coffee flavoring in this version. It is creamy, moist, and decadent. My friend visits from England once a year and always has to get her piece while she can. The only thing that could make this place any better is by featuring coffee directly from Italy on a regular basis rather than occasional selection. I was visiting some family in Dunwoody and they brought me here for some after dinner desserts and coffee. The wait was not long at all on a Saturday night at about 8pm for a party of 11. The place is very intimate with dim lightings. There were just so many coffees, teas, beers, etc.. to choose from. It was a bit overwhelming for me so I basically just closed my eyes and ordered something. I had a coffee. Everyone else had coffees, teas, cappuccinos. As for the desserts you have to walk up to the dessert counter and order. They give you a ticket to give to your server. There were lots of different cheesecakes and cakes. I'm sorry I forgot which ones we ordered. Having said that, the cheesecakes we ordered were delicious but a little to sweet for my pallet. Overall, it was a great place. I would definitely be coming back for some desserts and coffee. I saw that they had lunch/breakfast/crepes and so forth. The bartender Mike is the bomb.com. His service is impeccable. He made great recommendations for food and drinks. Had a wonderful conversation. The mussels were quite salty and the tomato sauce was quite rich. It had some flavor but if it was so salty it would have been great. The original server was blah - Sheila. My fav cake are the tiramisu(not too sweet n not too strong).. the red velvet cake is also not bad (soft n fluffy), almond fudge( the fair amount of almond flavor )and oreo cheesecake(maybe better than cheesecake factory, seems quiet legit!) i gave 3 stars only because I had Turkish coffee and didnt enjoy it, it's so watery and the coffee wasnt that strong, I once had better coffee somewhere else..it definitely ruined my night. Service is ehhh, food is decent, atmosphere is intimate. There was no line at the door for dinner but waited 15 minutes for the hostess to come to the front. You can request "indoor" or "outdoor" seating, both are inside the restaurant's front door. "Outdoor" is just right when you walk in, you'll still have a roof over your head. Nice dimly lit atmosphere with dramatic music, small round tables in the outside area. Lots of couples on dates, but also families and friends hanging out. A benedict brunch menu is offered with 4 different options. Sweet and savory crepes as well. Then the traditional appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches/burgers, entrees (meats, fishes, pastas), and of course dessert that everyone raves about here. There's a whole two pages of breakfast items like various French toasts, paninis, pancakes, scrambled eggs, lox, omelettes, etc. There's a separate menu for beverages - coffee infused with alcohol, pastries, gelato/sorbet, hot chocolate, teas, cocktails/mocktails (without alcohol), lots of different liqueurs, wine, beer, etc. Don't worry, you'll get more than your fair share of alcohol desired... this menu is 68 pages! After the 15 min wait to get seated, I browsed the menu for 5 and waited an additional 10 before I flagged someone down to even get water. The actual waitress came over 10 min later. The trout almondine was highly recommended - pan fried almond battered trout drizzled with honey mustard with a side of garlic mashed potatoes (didn't taste the garlic). Fish was overcooked - I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, there's a lot of items on the menu I want to try, probably just came on a bad day. Will come back for another try - I've heard good things about breakfast/brunch/coffee. read more
