Chantel was the WORST server I've ever had in my life. She was extremely rude and very argumentative. I asked her simply about the chai tea latte that I ALWAYS get there and she proceeds to tell me that I'm incorrect. I nicely did not argue with her and settle for whatever she was talking about. It arrived WRONG and nasty. She began to continue to ARGUE with me as if I was incorrect about what I've had there before. All the servers working the shift were nasty and had nasty attitudes. I never not leave a tip but I couldn't even bring myself to reward that type of behavior. I always come back for more. It's the perfect date spot especially if you have an all female outing. First you need to know that every time I come here the service is pretty slow which for most folks means bad. But at least this night our waiter was the nicest slow waiter we've ever had. He made some mistakes but he fessed up and apologized. Usually i get indifference. You would think this would keep me away but let me tell you why I continue to come back. The food is awesome. We shared the duck crepe that had goat cheese and figs. So delicious though the figs where too sweet for my girl friend, I ate them up (yay more for me). I normally get the chicken gnochi and you should too, it's the perfect blend of cheese and chicken in a savory sauce. I always come to nibble on plate that I share and then we each get a dessert. Tonight we tried the Tiramasu and although they tried to push 2 slices on us (cutting it in half is hard boo hoo) I told them to give us a single serving, we won't need it cut in half and we can just use 2 forks. It was more than enough since we where almost full anyway. FYI it's about 2.5 square inches, you decide if you need 2 for 2 people. We got the coffee drinks that have liquor in them but decaf since it was 12am. Another perk of this Cafe is that if you work late and need a place open late, this place is there till 1am to serve you. Another tip: Eclipse De Luna is right across in the same shopping center. I always start there with a cheap drink and maybe a tapas. One of the worst experiences at one of our favorite spots. We went as a group after dinner for a farewell drinks. The host was pleasant but our server, Jessica, was awful. All 4 of us are servers so we know what it is like and understand. But this was just bad service, lack of knowledge and not caring about the customer. Mind this that below is not all the interaction but some that really put us off the edge Multiple things were off the menu and we weren't told what was unavailable. Every time we ordered from cocktail, coffees, wine, appetizers, dips, and pastas. We ordered everything. Every order she didn't know or had to go and find out. Was not knowledgeable of the menu nor had any recommendations or alternatives. Her attitude was not pleasant to work with. If she had told us the availability of things after we kept ordering items we wouldn't have been as frustrated. Even the coffee we ordered decaf, she said "I don't remember if I told them and will replace it for you" come on that was the first order! I went here with some friends for a late night Friday night dessert and coffee run. I was expecting to wait 30 minutes or more but we were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Our server greeted us promptly and made sure we had both the dessert and drink menus. The four of us ended up getting food vs dessert. I must say that the baked brie was amazing!! The appetizer consisted of baked brie, honey, garlic pepper, parsley and the perfect amount of brown sugar with water crackers on the side. It was the perfect late night snack. Our friends ordered the French toast with strawberries and powdered sugar. My date had the chai latte, and although I am not a fan of chai, it tasted pretty darn good. Cafe Intermezzo serves their tea in a press, which is quite a unique feature & standard here. Our server - as busy as he was - always made sure that we were taken care of. Cafe Intermezzo is probably my favorite sit-down dessert place, especially when I have friends in town. The Buckhead location may be slightly better but a pain to get to and park, so I decided to go to the Perimeter Mall location on this trip. Ambiance: I will list this first since this really stands out compared to other dessert places. It is always busy here. The set-up is really cool - you feel like you are in Europe. There are cool wall hangings, sculptures and busts of half-nude women. They even have french lessons over the loud speaker in the bathroom! There are multiple rooms within the restaurant adorned with nice archways, glass-frosted doors and fountains. Food: This is the biggest draw...that is, if you love cake! There are two huge display cases, each holding over 20 cakes....I would say they must have nearly 40-50 cakes/pies to order. One case tends to be heavy on all different kinds of cheesecake (NY style, mocha, Kahlua, pumpkin, etc.); the other case is a mix of fruit-filled cakes (including a famous European imported fruit tart), chocolate mouse cakes and other layer cakes. You really can't beat the selection. Granted when you have this many cakes, some are going to better than others..it all depends on your palate, but I love trying a different slice each time. A little pricey at about $8 a slice, but you are paying for the ambiance. I usually get a few slices (depending on the # of people I am with) and share. They also have a lunch/dinner menu with sandwiches and pasta dishes among other items. Drinks: An amazing drink menu. There is a full bar. There are dozens of coffee drinks to pick from: with drip vs. espresso, with every imaginable flavor addition, cold or hot, whipped cream or not, etc. etc. There is also a very long tea list, hot chocolates, alcoholic coffees. Staff are friendly. There are employees that stand in front of the cake case and know every detail of every cake. Really impressive. I've been here a few times in the past but since I made my way here twice in one week I think a review is warranted at this point. I came on a Friday evening for dessert and after dinner cocktails. We got a slice of red velvet as well as some sort of mocha cake. They have a nice variety of cakes, pies, and cheesecakes that change daily. We also ordered an the Beethoven, espresso martini, along with a hazel martini. Everything was absolutely delicious! The espresso martini was definitely a nice pick me up after pigging out. I also found myself back here on a Saturday for brunch. I honestly had no idea they did brunch but I honestly don't know why I was surprised. I ordered a peach Bellini, mimosa, and the American omelette. The omelette was good however the potatoes were slightly over cooked and the peach Bellini was a bit too sweet for me. The food definitely took a lot longer than expected but our server who was also the bartender told us they kept messing up the order since I wanted my omelette without cheese. She was great though. I've been at this location several times and last night was the worst for several reasons: 1. when we arrived the hostess told us that there will be 25 to 30 mins wait. That was fine because it was a busy night and we don't mind waiting. 25 mins into waiting we got a text saying to head back so we head back right away. We were literally outside and then we waited another 10 mins because our names was never called. So, we decided to approach the hostess and to our surprise she said someone cancel our reservation. This is strike one, first of all if you are cancelling a reservation you guys better text us. So we waited another 5 mins to be seated. 2. So we got seated, we gave our orders to the waitress and we asked the lady if we can get the drink menu because we never got one. We got the menu and we decided to go see what cakes they have. Mind you we were not gone for more than 5 mins coz we already know what cakes we want it's just a matter of availability. That's why we were very surprised when we came back to our table some other people were seating on our table. When we left our umbrellas on the table and gave our orders. So we ended up approaching the host again and told her someone else took our table. Then we ended up waiting again for another table. Strike2 3. So we got seated again, then another waitress approached us and we told her about what happened coz we don't want to double order. But this lady, made a big deal about it, mind you she went to our table three times telling us that we should have not left our table without telling anyone. At this point I was already at the end of my patience... look we won't order and just leave when we even mentioned the previous waitress that we gonna check the cakes. Strike 3 4. So food came out, she told us they making the food again because apparently the food was done before... I'm like impossible coz we are not even gone longer than 5 minutes... so you guys just microwave my mussels, omelet etc. to be ready in 5 mins. My mussels were cold and undercooked. Mussels open up when cook and mine have at least 5 or more closed. I didn't say anything coz I'm already over it... then we asked the lady for water coz we never got one to begin with. We asked not once, twice, but three times and still no water. So we ended up asking another waitress for water... strike 4 As you can see, the overall experience was really bad... if I can give negative stars I will because zero is being generous. We paid a total of $140 for all 3 people... and with the amount of money we spent we deserve at least a decent service. We went there tonight and I just couldn't wait to write this review so I'm writing it right now. We went there with a party of 10. Probably one of the largest parties of the night. They took our name and party size and said it would be an hour wait so we said ok and that we would wait. An hour and a half later no call no nothing. We go inside to check and they crossed our name out. We asked why did they cross our name out and they said they tried to call but couldn't reach anybody. We left two phone numbers and our whole party "10" people where sitting right out side the door. Close enough for the hostess to see us. All they had to do if they called and didn't get an answer to two phone numbers which in fact we had no missed calls was just peek out the door and say the table is ready. So here is what I like about this place.... it can be casual one minute and tres romantic the next. I came here for an impromptu "Lets grab a drink" with a friend. The dessert case just makes you wanna drool as soon as you see it. I decided on a white hot chocolate and a slice of white chocolate almaretto cheesecake. The name alone made me want to cry but the taste??? It tasted like a four day weekend off from work and you just got your bonus check all rolled into one. Lol seriously, it was delicious. I wasnt knocked out by the white hot chicolate, I've had better. My dessert companion had the Cannoli cheesecake. I asked him if he enjoyed it, which he did by evidence of his plate. He said he would give it an A for taste. Later on, i ordered the "Crab and Sherry Dip" Yasssssss..... i loved it. Absolutely loved it My only gripe is that they need to provide more bread bc the loaf they gave was not equal to the amount of dip. And they charge $3 for more bread. Was expecting the clouds to part and angels to come down and dance in my mouth as I ate dessert based on the reviews here. Wasn't super impressed, but maybe my expectations were too high. Husband and I got the Bailey's cheescake. Tasted like plain cheesecake to me. With chocolate on top. That was disappointing. And at almost $9 for a single (not very big) slice, I was expecting to at least think it was great, if not excellent. It was even a little melty, which was weird because it really wasn't hot out when we went, we sat inside, and the cheesecake was in a cooler before. The ambiance is very nice. I think I'd like to be taken here on a first date for drinks and dessert if I was single. But for the most part I'd rather head to Cheesecake Factory for some seriously awesome cheesecake. This Cafe is not as "cool" as the other, but the additional space indoors and outdoors, proximity to work, makes this my preference for a coffee break (non chain ie starbucks). A quick bite for lunch allows me to make the most of a short break from the tasks at hand. Cafe Intermezzo is the first cafe of it's kind I had ever been to. It's dark, cozy, and romantic. This location was the first one I went to - the very first time I visited Georgia during winter of 2004 - and it's my personal favorite as it holds sentimental value. Anyway, there isn't much to add to the other reviews posted here. Yes, their service isn't always good and they serve you super duper overpriced drinks, desserts, and food. But it's a great place to chill late at night when everything else (besides bars and clubs) is closed. They're open 'til 1 am Sunday through Thursday and 2 am on Friday and Saturday. And I love that they have a FREE parking lot (I hate the paid parking thing at their Buckhead/Brookwood location). I haven't tried their food, but my favorite drink - which I always order - is the Cafe Johannes. It's basically a tall glass of coffee topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Pretty pricey at $6.65, but I love it. Again, sentimental value. =) Their mango sorbet is also delicious! It's served in an actual mango skin/shell with some whipped cream on the side. A friend of mine introduced me to it and I love it! What I don't love is the price - $7.25. Ouch. My sister, Yoomee H., decided to be adventurous and tried their Coppa Cafe Gelato (also $7.25). I had a bite of it and thought it was good! Although it's expensive, you're allowed to keep the cute little glass that it comes in, which is pretty neat. Overall, this Cafe Intermezzo gets 4 stars - minus 1 because it is so expensive and their service is usually suuuuper slow! Luckily, Half Off Depot has been offering "$5 for $10 worth of food/drinks" deals, so I've been buying them every now and then. read more

I've been here a handful of times, always for drinks/desserts. Service has always been good and the desserts/drinks are always delicious! This place gets crazy busy on the weekends so expect to wait for a table. The last time I went here was this past Monday with my husband. We came there around 9ish and it was busy, but not as busy as I've seen it the past few times I went there. The past few times I went were on the weekends though. We got the exotic bomba and a banana nutella crepe. The exotic bomba is OMG so good! It's a mixture of mango, passion fruit and raspberry sorbets encased in white chocolate. I could eat that stuff everyday! The crepe was just as delicious! It was just as good as crepes that I had in Paris. I had the biscotti martini and that too was super yummy! Probably my most favorite Cafe Intermezzo location. The water fountains, the patio, and atmosphere all collectively make for a nice date outing. Of course, if it's nice outside, pick the patio over inside. It's just all very relaxed. As many have mentioned, their drink menu is extensive and includes a table of contents. Most of the non-specialty drinks will be toward the front at least, typical house sweet tea, simple coffee, or sodas. The drink menu is impressive though. Really the most notable thing about Cafe Intermezzo besides drinks is it makes a nice place to meet up with people and just enjoy the time. Otherwise, I wouldn't leap backwards for anything on their food menu. Most of what I've had was sufficient and tasted good. Consistency is well done. Their coffee is very good as well. For a matter of fact, back onto drinks, their drinks are so nice! Our last visit, we had the: Mediterranean Wrap: Pretty standard gyro. Mostly veg, and very tasty. The pita was soft and the hummus had a nice flavor. Side of chips were nice too. Avocado & Almond Salad: I opted for the vinaigrette to the side, which I was glad. It's a salty citrus-y sort of dressing which I wasn't much a fan of. The salad itself came with a bit of bread and lots of avocado, however nothing special. I may start assigning any visits here just to relax and get a cup of tea. I would give the desserts here 5 stars alone but seeing as i finally tried the cuisine menu i had to give it four stars. Its a little too pricey for the quality of entrees they have. I had the bruschetta. While it looked gorgeous it was super over salted which caused me to keep guzzling down my water that the waiter had to refill! I have a love/hate relationship with Cafe Intermezzo. I love the idea of it...European ambience, intimate setting, detailed menu, etc. Sadly, what Cafe Intermezzo possesses in ambience is a starck contrast to the quality of their food and drinks. I constantly have eaten subpar food here. From their crepes to their chicken salad sandwich, I am never really that happy with my meal. I surprisingly keep coming back for some reason. I think I still have hope that one day the image in my head of how great Cafe Intermezzo could be is eventually fulfilled. Cute little spot tucked away. I went at 4pm on a Friday. The service and business was slow. The waitress was kind but clearly a little bored and forgot about her table a few times, even though I was at the only table in her section. The dessert tour was really good and the "dessert bartender" was very knowledgeable about all of the sin in their sweets. I choose the strawberry cake made with strawberry icing and yes I had a side of vanilla ice cream that was just a tad bit over frozen. It was still so delicious! This spot is perfect for an intimate date. But not if you are trying to "hide." The tables are all exposed. You can see everyone. Ladies don't worry about ordering too much food, the tables are very small which will help you avoid having big eyes. Plus the portions are small. Guys if you are trying to score brownie points take your girl here and be sure to bring just one fresh flower, it would go perfect on the cute little European style table. Justin and I went to the Perimeter Intermezzo awhile back with Aiken for desserts and coffee. The service wasn't as horrid as I was expecting it to be, but it wasn't stellar either. The atmosphere there was lovely. It feels like such a great place to go and read a book, or take a date. Definitely a date place. Anyways, I only took a picture of what Aiken ordered cause I'm a dork. I ordered one of their cappuccino, they have so many, I don't remember which one I picked. Either way I enjoyed it. I also got the lemon gelato because I am a lemon fanatic and you get to keep the champagne glass it comes in. I plan on going back and starting a collection. ^.^ It was so so good. I loved it. Justin got a Dark and Stormy drink, and their sweet tea. He loves the blend of teas they use, it is super flavorful. Aiken ordered a slice of cake. Honestly, I don't remember what the cake was, I just remember that it was delicious. Not super sweet, it was subtle, and light, and lovely. Real fresh made whip cream on the side too. He also ordered the Turkish coffee that of course comes in the most adorable tiny cup and saucer. The really cute pot they bring out just adds to it. I'm not a huge fan of Turkish coffee, it's a bit gritty for me, but the presentation of it is just too much. Not a place to go for food, but their desserts and drinks seem pretty stellar. I dropped by after dinner on Friday night expecting a long line. There was no wait and several empty tables, but the place was still lively and had a great, upbeat atmosphere. We ordered some cappuccinos and desserts. You have to walk up to the dessert counter and order. They will give you a ticket to give your server. We tried the toffee cheesecake and the toasted almond tiramisu. The toffee topping was a little sweet for my taste, but was overall delicious. The tiramisu was decent but could go without the extra whipped cream. The cappuccino was good but had way too much cinnamon, and This is coming from someone who likes cinnamon. I never had a bad experience at cafe intermezzo until today. I went for brunch and ordered a cafe Mozart and an American breakfast. This place is known for their extensive drink menu so I have higher expectations for the drinks than the food. Food is pretty average. I was disappointed by the cafe Mozart. I have had this coffee before and it is usually nice and sweet because of the chocolate chip shavings and whipped cream. Today the coffee was bitter to the point where it was fighting the sweet taste and ended up giving off a sour taste. When the waitress asked how the coffee was I said it was sour and I had it pushed to the side because I couldn't drink it. All she said was I can bring sugar, which she did a couple minutes later. The sugar did not do anything and I honestly wanted to send the coffee back but the cafe for busy so I refrained. It was a complete waste of $5.20. My significant other could not drink his coffee either. It took a while for our food to come out even though the place was not that busy when we came in, but we did feel like the waitress we had was much slower than the other waitress that was serving more tables. Overall today was not a good experience. I think I will stay away from coffees from here & if I come back only order teas and cakes. read more

I have been here several times throughout the years and always had good food and drinks. The wide selection of cheesecake and coffee makes this a great spot to go after dinner. However, what always bothered me was the slow service. I have been there at different times and most of the times we had to wait over 15 minutes for the cheesecake. The last time I was there, it took the server over 30 minutes to bring our drinks. But all the servers we had were very polite and nice. It is located in the shopping plaza with other restaurants and shops so depending on the time you might need to drive around a couple of times to look for a spot. We had to actually walk up To our server who was chatting away on numerous occasions with the other staff. I figured they have great desserts but this will be our last time coming to this location. The staff (2 different people) who were tending to our dessert order was not knowledgeable and were not giving us the correct information. One of my favorite spots!!! Can we say desserts galore?!?! They help tons of cheesecakes and cakes!! The menu also includes pages and pages of food. They have soups, salads, appetizers (fruits, cheese, etc), sandwiches, and meals, as well as brunch. Drinks includes, coffees, teas, and liquors. Food prices range $8-$15. You can spend $75-$100 easily if you order drinks, food, and desserts. The ambiance is very quaint, upscale, and classy. You can take a date there or hang out with friends. I love to have my "girl dates" with my besties when we need to catch up. My favorite dessert there is the Oreo cheesecake. (I like the cheesecakes here better than this at the cheesecake factory!) However, I find when I go late, there usually run out of it, probably because it's a top seller. (I always tell my sever they need to make extra Oreo cheesecakes for those late night arrival, like myself ) It's located in a shopping center across from Perimeter Mall, so there's plenty of free parking. There is no doubt that was the last time I was in intermezzo at Dunwoody. I went there with my best friend after a long time to have a good evening. We ordered water no ice and lemon. The young black lady after 15 mins brought 2 glass of water full of ice and no lemon. When she came back to get orders I asked her if you would first change the waters. She grabbed the glasses to change them, after a second she turned around a slammed the glasses on the table and in the rude manner said she would ask someone else to take care of us. Luv it! I am totally in love with the huge selection of tea that they have! I have been searching for a good long while for a nice tea house, and all this while, it was nestled in cafe intermezzo. As it was my first time, I was only able to try one tea: Jamaican Rum tea - black tea infused with Jamaican rum ... SOLID AWESOMENESS!! YAAASSSS!!! We also paired our nice tea with a slice of their chocolate fudge cheesecake. And although it was nice and decadent, I would say that it is a-ok. All in all, I look forward to having my afternoon tea on the weekends in this place. I cannot wait to explore all the other cakes and delicacies this place has to offer. I truly dig the atmosphere. The only thing that is stopping me from giving this place the full five stars is the fact that asking for a hot water refill on your pot of tea is $1.50 ???? I mean, it is HOT WATER for heaven's sake. It shouldnt cost that much. In other places I have been, re-filling the pot with hot water was actually free. Cool ambiance, overpriced, OK food and beverages. They tried to replicate European cafes and was pleasantly surprised when a friend introduced me to this place. But they don't know how to make a decent cup of capuccino, and their cake was mediocre and they charge a lot. It wasn't worth the money. This is a great place for a date or meet up with friends. If you want to grab drinks (coffee, alcohol, or a mixture of both coffee mixed with alcohol), this is the place for it. There was a food menu, but it's not as vast as the drink menu. The food was a tad more expensive. Well, even the drinks can be up there. If I can remember correctly, my coffee date and I had the cheese platter which was about $17 along with two orders of coffee with a shot of Bailey's for $8 (?). Everything was pretty delish along with a nice atmosphere (dim lighting with candles and small cut flowers on the tables) for chatting. I mean. We were there for 3 hours just chatting away. lol. Parking just sucked when I visited this location last Thursday. Um. Yeah. Battling rush hour traffic in the Perimeter area was NOT fun and most certainly not recommended. When you initially pull in, the parking lot you're in is small and packed to the max. I'd just suggest driving around to the parking in the back where there's more spacious parking areas. read more
