They really DO have the best hummus in Dallas. It is garlicky perfection (don't worry they also have a "date night" version of you are scared of garlic breath). 5 stars for very friendly and attentive staff! Our server Ivan was great. 3 stars for sub-par food. The saffron chicken platter is only good for a few minutes since it's right off the grill, but quickly it gets dry and tasteless. I liked their gyro platter only for the first bite or two, but then the more you eat it the more salty it gets. Their hummus was good, but if you want AMAZING hummus, I recommend going to Prince Lebanese Grill in Arlington (it's really fresh!). Since I only care for food, I give this place 3 stars. read more

$5 mandatory valet fee in an empty parking which when u pull in you've already basically parked in a spot. I order the Saffron Chicken Kabobs which were on the bland side, i asked for something to perhaps spice it up or add more flavor to which they didnt provide an option. The service was ordinary at best the waiter was clearly a rookie on his 2nd day on the job and spoke way too softly. You can do better for kabobs im sure elsewhere read more

The food, service, and ambiance is amazing! The family ran restaurant has an amazing feel with the best Mediterranean food around. The service was fantastic and the owner even came out with a small complimentary dessert to try. My favorite restaurant in Dallas...I have been 100 times and have been happy every single visit. The staff and food are both excellent.

So the family and I went to see a show at the Granada. We decided to have dinner here first. Brilliant choice! The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the pricing was very reasonable. Plus, as an added bonus for a minimal fee the valet allowed us to keep our car parked there for the evening so all we had to do was walk across the street after dinner and catch the show. Went to this place on a Friday night with a friend around 8:45 and requested to sit outside. They immediately set up the table and gave us water. We ordered the course prix option (a special where you can pick three different options from the starters, veggies, and tappas. It was enough for about two-three people to share). We ordered the hummus, Ziziki, and tabouli, then the beef kabob, chicken kabob, and the lamb roll, then the falafel​, rice, and grilled veggies. I am allergic to zucchini​ and eggplant, which is in the grilled veggie tapas option, but they took those out and swapped with asparagus. The pita bread basket came with the prix option, but they will charge if you want more. The beef kabob with the ziziki was absolutely divine, and the falafel was the best one I have had in Dallas. It didn't taste too heavy like most falafels out there. Hummus with the asparagus and pita bread was also very good, and chicken was flavorful and not dry. All the dips were made fresh in-house​. It's less expensive than most of the restaurants​ on Greenville, and the quality and quantity is better too. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely​ become a regular! I had two wonderful experiences at Cafe Izmir. Tonight I came with my boyfriend to celebrate something important to us. We were told a 30 minute wait and after an hour and a half, it was clear they had forgotten about us, even though we had checked on the status of our table twice. We decided to go ahead and leave and the host at the front along with the valet didn't seem to bate an eye when we expressed our frustration. Several small tables had come in after and were seated before us. Really disappointed. It was supposed to be a special night. read more

This is one on my favorite places in town!! I go almost every Tuesday night (where almost everything is only $2!!). My friend and I go and we usually spend $16 between the two of us ($8 each) and we are FULL...just because they are tapas doesn't mean they aren't filling. I recomend the chicken salad, lamb rolls, veggie dolmas, hummus, and the saffron rice. I have a craving for Izmir after writing this review...YUM!!! read more

Very good. They are known for their hummus, so I suggest you try it. We were very pleased with it. We ordered tapas since there were only two of us. The lamb rolls, chicken kabobs, and grilled veggies were a wonderful and filling Friday meal and they had a great wine list. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. It is a very cozy spot so if you like your space ask to sit up front. Be prepared to pay for valet parking if you park in their lot. If there were free parking I would give them 5 stars as the valet parking is the only thing I disliked about our visit. read more

This is my fave place in DFW to get Mediterranean food! The gyro and falafel sandwiches are definitely worth trying as well as the stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) and hummus. I couldn't wait to try this place, and after a long day at work I wanted a nice dinner, so I ordered the chicken kebab plate and a side of hummus. The total came to $23 so I thought it would be worth it. The chicken was meh, nothing special. The "saffron" rice was just plain white rice; it wouldn't be surprising that they forgot to season it as they forgot my entire side salad that was apparently supposed to come with the meal. And lastly, I thought they accidentally gave me tzatziki sauce instead of hummus, because it was white and runny. After reading the menu, I noticed they put dairy in their hummus ? and I could taste the beans. So turns out their hummus is a swing and a miss as well. Plus, WAY too garlicky, and I love garlic! Good god. Welp, now my curiosity is satisfied and I never have to go back. read more

We came here to celebrate our 4 year anniversary, and we were very excited to try it. The place was packed which wasn't a problem at all. However, when we walked in the host just instructed us to go stand at the bar and we would be seated soon. So we did. Several parties walked in after us that did the same. We waited a while, flagged down someone for a glass of wine, and waited some more. Only to have us told we would be at one of the several tables recently opened. Then a party of 3 that walked in well after us was seated- without even a glance in our direction from any staff. So long story short we left hungry and quite disappointed in the establishment. I just discovered Cafe Izmir, and I wish I had found it sooner. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, good for date night but there were also families there when I went. It was Friday night and they had a live musician, a guy singing and playing guitar. I'm always a little wary of live music at restaurants because usually they turn it up way too loud, but I really enjoyed it. We had a really great waiter, his name was Sammy I think. He gave us really good recommendations and even gave us some free hummus and pita because we'd never been there before! The hummus is wonderful, some of the best I've ever had. Wonderful pita bread too. We also had babaganoush, zaziki, Mom's saffron rice, veggie dolmas, piroshki, lamb roll, and chicken kabob. I loved all of the dishes. The piroshki and chicken kabob really stand out in my mind. Amazing. For dessert, we shared the Greek Cake, I had the Turkish coffee. The dessert was really good too. Perfect way to end a wonderful meal. It can get kind of expensive though if you want a full meal like we had. Three of us split the bill and it came to $17 each. I thought it was worth it though for the food. Overall I have absolutely no complaints about Cafe Izmir. read more

My husband and I were in Dallas on vacation for his birthday, and a friend who was from the Dallas area recommended Cafe Izmir, as we had not had good Mediterranean food since we moved from L.A. the year prior, and we had a craving for some! We arrived at around 6 P.M., valet parked our car; I'm not sure where else we could've parked it was already quite busy. The weather was nice, but the patio was packed, so we decided to be seated inside. Very nice, calm atmosphere, but honestly a little crammed. We were tucked away in a back corner, which was nice until they got busier halfway through our meal, and the couple that was seated next to us was loud, and a bit obnoxious.. but what can ya do? It was neat though, they had local artist work on the walls that were available for purchase, but it was quite nice to see different artwork when looking around. Apparently these change frequently, and they've even had sculptures presented there before, which would've been cool to see. Overall, the inside was nice, and cozy, and romantic. Now on to the good part, let me just start by saying that the staff was EXCELLENT, well informed on the menu, wine selection, and our server knew exactly when we needed him, and when we didn't. He had told us that the tapas plates were the way to go, as the family size were rather large. We took his advice, and got 4 plates of tapas and a Greek salad to split(delicious dressing!) We ordered hummus (Holy garlic! Seriously the best!) falafel, (it came with this super spicy, yet delicious sauce, I'm still not 100% what it was, but it was so good) dolmas (my husband loves these, I've never been a fan of grape leaves, but he said they were yummy; I'll take his word for it) and beef kabob (which literally melted in your mouth.) I'm a big fan of tzatziki, so I got an extra side of that, but some came with the kabob. My husband is a wino, and had never had a Grecian wine that he could remember, so the waiter let us taste the Boutari Naoussa, and my goodness was it good! He ended up getting a couple of glasses worth, which were extremely reasonably priced. I would've gotten a glass, but I was pregnant, so I just had my taste and lived vicariously through him as he drank the glasses. After our food settled and he enjoyed his wine, he got a Turkish coffee, and we split a Greek cake. Yum! I felt that for the meal we had, the whole check was really reasonable. We're from Los Angeles, so a meal like that would've easily been 20-60% more, so we tipped rather well. I still taste the garlic in my mouth the day after, and to be honest, loved it! I felt that garlic was seeping out of my pores, and the fragrance was lovely! They do have a "date-night" version of hummus with out all of the garlic, but where's the fun in that? read more

We went here for Valentines Day 2014 and it was unbelievably good. We've been here before which is why we keep coming back. The tenderloin is truly the best we've ever tasted. My husband said he was having a mouth gasm..lol. The service and food is a 5 star rating. I rated it 4 stars because the place is very tight as far as space. The tables are very close together which takes away from privacy but the food is so great that it's easy to overlook. Love it! read more

I had been dying to try this place for a long time and it didn't disappoint. The hummus is the best that I've found in Dallas. I got the beef kabob plate (different from the tenderloin, which is the medallions. This was ground, like kofta) and it was very good. It was simple: just beef, rice, and a tomato. Just two things that I wish from my meal: that the plates came with grilled veggies (would have been perfect then) and that they had more [free] pita bread. The pitas were yummy - came out warm too. 1st time I tried Estrella Barcelona beer and it was great. Lamb rolls are very flavorful with just enough spice. Greek cake was good too.
