Have close friends in Cocoa Beach and have found dinner to be a better experience than lunch. As already mentioned, the restaurant is overpriced with extremely outdated decor. The service gets 5 stars as well as the presentation, but the actual food is simply average with a 5-star price tag. Enjoyed the chicken florentine though the carrot salad and instant mashed potatoes were disappointing. Dessert was lovely but nothing special. The ambiance at night helps. read more

An oasis of deliciousness in the food desert that is central Florida. Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We started our meal with the tomato bisque, which was delicious, and went wonderfully with the garlic bread they brought out. We also had sangria, which was good, but a little sweet for my taste. The main course was a curry ceasar salad with scallops and shrimp for me, and three cheese quiche for my companion. The seafood on my salad was great I just wish there'd been a little more of it. The quiche was simple and really excellent. They kept walking by with an incredible looking dessert tray, so we decided to indulge in a slice of the amaretto cake. It came highly recommended by the waiters, and for good reason; it was moist and delicious. We also ordered dessert martinis (an Ultimate Chocolate for me and a Midnight Espresso for my companion); they were far and away the best mixed drinks I've had in central FL, and they were delicious in their own right. read more

Had to travel to Brevard County for a work related trip and was looking for a place to have a steak. Did some research and by word of mouth, Cafe Margaux came with high regards. If you're not familiar with the area you may drive right past it as I did. It is tucked in the rear of the plaza. From the moment I sat down the staff was very attentive. The ambiance is classy and the food was phenomenal from the main course to the dessert. I had the Filet. My , Miss Patti and I ate lunch here pre-pandemic. My review was rave: Suggesting it comparable to George V and Maxims in Paris, and Lutece in New York. Today we arrived to find a totally different experience. our waitress, Tiffany was sweet; however she had to read the specials to us. I ordered the blackened redfish, while Miss Patti ordered the Quiche. Both were inedible. The redfish was overcooked and dry, as was the quiche. Bothe we're served with a mound of dried out potatos with no butter or sour cream to help. On the plus side, the martinis, champagne, and grappa were excellent, as was the vanilla and chocolate creme brûlée's. My bill was about $160, and I gave her a $50 tip explaining our view on an awful meal. Never again! You can eat better for a lot less elsewhere. read more

Having been to both Ulysses and Cafe Margaux in the past, we chose Cafe Margaux to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary, requested a quiet table during the reservation process, On arrival we were seated next to a large group. when we asked to be moved it seemed to be quite a hassle for the staff. Mind you there were only 4 tables occupied at the time. Once seated, it took more than 10 minutes to get menus and then another 15 to have our order taken. The escargots were lovely but we never got my further. After sitting for another 40 minutes looking at dirty dishes, we were fed up. We went expecting excellent service. Truly disappointed. Started with the Duck Confitt appetizer. Both had the Filet Mignon, bitter knife tender, good flavor. Great bottle of wine, Stags Leap Petite Siren. Finished with dessert. Cafe Margaux has been around as long as I have in Brevard. Phenomenal French cuisine with a fresh selection of seafood. The sauces are fantastic, and the atmosphere is superb. I highly recommend it for entertaining guests or for a romantic evening with your significant other. The staff is courteous, and the service is quick. If you go you must try the filet mignon, Its one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. The desserts are a work of art and taste as good as they look. The servers are wonderful as well. We had another amazing dinner last night. My wife's fillet was perfect as usual and I finally tried something different. I had a trio of lamb chops, short rib and pork belly. It was amazing. The service is always perfect and our server was very generous with wine samples. We were each able to pick the perfect wine to go with our meal. We finished with an amazing bananas foster cake. Friday night, a group of 8 of us gathered for a 3-Birthdays-Celebration. It started raining as each of the parties across Brevard headed to Cocoa Village. With COVID-19 still a topic AND rain, we wondered about our table. We were individually met at the sidewalk by a great, personable waiter holding a giant umbrella escorting us to our table, just past the open courtyard in the protection of the building overhang. We had the benefit of finish outdoors, yet under the protection of the roof, able to watch the drizzle & courtyard fountain. Win-Win! We even popped in the candy store behind us when we saw he was preparing to close & snagged some chocolate covered coffee beans & a couple of vintage candy items from our childhood (nice to be able to support 2 businesses). Yes, dinners are a tad pricey, but this is a lovely option for a special occasion & again, the venue was memorable! My night's-special of Beef Tips on Skewer were prepared as ordered, medium rare, but a touch of a char would have added greatly to the flavor. My husbands Lamb Chop dish was ample & flavorful. Several got the Seafood Melange & one raved about the cilantro mashed potatoes! I must say the carrots on each plate are not only gorgeous, purple, orange & rainbow colored, but prepared perfectly with a bit of a snap still present. Outstanding restaurant for food, ambience and service! The macadamia encrusted chèvre salad with honey lavender was a delightful experience of flavors. Couple with a Pinot Grigio and life is just fine. My companions had the veal, crab cakes and grouper --- all perfectly prepared and presented. I have visited this fabulous restaurant 3 separate times and have never been disappointed. The wait staff is amazing and simply fawns over you to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. The dinner rolls are just too good to the point that I have to have them take my plate away after just 1 roll as they will keep restocking your plate if they see it's empty!!! YES, no willpower here! On my last visit this past weekend I had the Grouper with a sauce that was scrumptious. The chef here is extremely creative and his sauces are perfectly paired with the main dish, you will not be unhappy with his creativity. Oh my, I did not mention the award winning tomato basil bisque, OMG, outstanding. I hope no other guests saw me licking out my bowl. At the end of your meal be prepared to be tempted by an exquisite display of pastry which is all made in house. We've dined here many times because it's our favorite fine dining and special occasion restaurant but last night was a little disappointing. The food was not the problem. It was excellent as usual. The problems were one of the servers forgot that I wanted a glass of wine with dinner and he didn't know about our Special Occasion (57th wedding anniversary) that I filled in on Yelp when making the reservation. After apologizing he brought us a tiny glass of Moscato wine, even though we already had wine. And the final straw was we were never offered desert. read more

I have been to Cafe Margaux once before and it had been a pretty good experience. They were very accommodating and the food was good. I'm afraid today they lost three patrons. Today, myself and my two work mates decided to splurge and have a pricey lunch. We arrived around 1:00. There was no one to great us once inside. After a few minutes someone did come to seat us. The only customers we saw in the place was table of three. We were sat in the back room at a decent table. The blond lady who sat us had 3 menus in her hand and sat them on the table next to us. She told us our waitress would be with us shortly. After 5 minutes we were trying not to ruin the lunch by thinking about the bad service, and were still looking forward to a good lunch. After another 5 minutes we realized that it was beyond bad service. We finally gather our things and walked out of the restaurant. We did see 3 or 4 staff members as we exited the restaurant and not one of them acknowledged that we were even there, much less walking out. We will never patronize this restaurant again, and we will make sure and tell everyone we know of our experience there. read more
