Worst latte I've ever had. Tired them out again today still just horrible. I don't think they train the staff how to use the machine.

Reviews are true. Had chipped beef/gravy with 2 eggs medium and was very pleased. Gravy was the correct consistency and biscuits were firm and not soggy or chewy. Other had selections of omelets and truly enjoyed. Nice menu of coffee and teas. Tough to find in a pedestrian mall; need sand which board sign out front to alert customers. Parking limited off street or nearby lot. read more

Not impressed, despite the good music and coffee, a $4.50 bagel with cream cheese took 15 minutes and cream cheese from a 1oz cup was disappointing. A slight rush of 6-8 customers pushed the wait time to 35-40 minutes for anything cooked on the grill. read more

Our family stopped by on a Sunday morning. Got there just as it opened and we initially wondered why employees outnumbered customers; place looked quirky and inviting but kind of empty. We ordered and glad we did at that moment b/c a steady stream of customers came in and the place was pretty hopping soon enough. We got a kid's pancake + crispy bacon (warning: pancake is huge. This is a big plus if you're the kind of dad- ahem, me- who looks forward to cleaning up my son's plate), granola crunch blueberry French Toast, and an egg & cheese sandwich on croissant. S..L..O..W.. Wife popped in for two lattes to go. She tried the day before but the line was long and not moving so we moved on. This time she was gone a long time but finally returned to the car. She said...believe or not...she was first in line but things moved extremely slow. Got out on the highway and we both took our first sip. Tasted like burnt coffee beans to me. It was extremely bitter...even with all the frothed milk.... to the point it was undrinkable. I even took the top off to see if there actually was milk in it. Stopped for gas and we dumped both of them out...and my wife is such a coffee lover she will usually drink anything to get her caffeine fix. Two stars because she said the place was cute. read more

Had the chicken salad which is supposed to be their recommended sandwich. Found it heavy on the mayo and pretty bland. Breakfast was a different story. The butternut squash omelette was awesome. Definitely recommended. read more

Love with a passion, I went there yesterday and got a caramel mocha frap and I crap u not I think I found my new place, I use to drive 35 mins for starbs but this place is so much better, my sister got the parfait and loved every bite!! Will be back! read more

Although I sat at the bar for a few minutes before I knew I had to order at the counter, with out anyone telling me...although it took 17 minutes to get my breakfast sandwich, and although I didn't find the wait staff particularity friendly, I loved the final product...a great bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant! They had good looking French toast and huge bowls of fresh fruit. The Americano was on point, and all and all this may be the best place in downtown Cumberland for Saturday morning breakfast! Great vibe in this place. This trip was simply a coffee run, and the drinks were very good. The food that went by looked great, but I won't comment any further there before eating some. The staff seemed a little harried for a mid-Sunday morning with little traffic. I found the queue line cumbersome and inconvenient to seated guests. read more

Was in town for a month on a medical rotation, staying right next door to Cafe Mark (at Windsor Hall). Specialty lattes are very, very tasty - great recipe for each - but beware, they can be very sweet! I had the Almond Joy latte. I do think their coffee selection is the best in Cumberland. The food is good, but is a little overpriced given the quantity and quality. Buying a lunch sandwich as just a "sandwich" (not a meal) doesn't even come with chips, and costs around $9. I probably would NOT come here for the food. The ambiance is very nice. There are many small tables that can seat 2-3, as well as an upstairs area located in the back. Their music selection is AWESOME! The staff are very friendly and are always checking on you to see how you are doing. read more

We like be café mark and go whenever we have a morning free for brunch. And especially when we have out of town guests!

We ate outside with at a table in the patio area. All of the staff had on gloves and masks. We got there around 9 am on Saturday and just in time to beat the rush! My latte was very good and I had the B.E.A.T which was excellent. Hubby ordered the Butter Pecan French toast which was tasty. The kiddos had a breakfast sandwich and pancakes. Overall a great little eclectic stop for breakfast while camping in the area! read more

Cafe Mark is a lovely little coffee shop in downtown Cumberland. A little pricy but I'm usually willing to pay for a good specialty coffee! Baked goods are delicious and Sunday morning breakfasts are superb. read more

Updated review in 2016: I want to support this place, but it's so darn overpriced. Had no options this Labor Day, so had to come here. I bet if there was another similar outfit here, that offered some competition, things might be better for the customer and I'd definitely try them out. *** Life. Changing. French. Toast. Fantastic staff- when I asked for a pastry recommendation, a staff member told me Jennifer (a bakery co-located with Cafe Mark) had just baked chocolate espresso muffins. Just about melted in my mouth. Just a cool vibe that is such an important part to a revitalizing downtown. Great local art work too. I don't know many places where I can walk into a bakery, and see something be taken out of the oven (things seem to be baking all day long) and simply buy it fresh on the spot. They do special order cakes so I gotta check that out soon. read more

If you have a lot of freaking time to waste this is the place for you. First there is no waitress service. You place your order at the bar than you get a cup with a number to put on your table We waited in line 15 minutes just to order. Then waited another 35 minutes for one order of French toast and another order of eggs ham and toast. Still no food. Then we asked how much longer they wanted us to wait another 15 minutes. No thank you, we got a refund. There is one guy cooking on one griddle and the place is packed. The sausage is frozen and microwaved. The food looked ok from what I could see but again the wait is a killer if busy, also seems over priced for the area. read more

Amazing crunchy blueberry French toast...Unique and so yummy! Delicious Belgium waffles... A little bit crispy on the outside! Loved the vegetable omelette with perfectly cooked veggies! We were here for a weekend in the small town. We came to Marks cafe for breakfast because there was not many places open On Sunday. The menu looked very interesting and it was hard to choose what to eat. We ordered smoked salmon sandwich and sweet baked French toast. They were exceptionally good. Cumberland local here, moved out of state nearly a decade ago. One of the things I miss most about Cumberland is walking to Marks on weekend mornings. I can't make a trip home without a German Chocolate latte and whatever the breakfast special happens to be. Food is always tasty with high end presentation. I still base the quality of a crafted latte no matter where I go on "is it as good as marks?" Once by far the best coffee around, but with other options in the area these days, I'm interested to see how Marks adapts with what seems to be a growing coffee culture in Western Maryland. read more

This is the best place to get coffee and breakfast in town. It's classy but not overdone at all. They always have art up on the walls. The coffee is very good and strong, the food is all cooked right in front of you and made to order. The wife and I stopped here about 2 months ago while we were exploring downtown. We each got smoothies (which were absolutely fantastic), and we were so impressed that we both agreed to go back and try the food. We went the following Sunday, where we discovered their weekly brunch specials. They change from week to week, ranging from seafood inspired dishes to the most amazing stacked waffles. I highly recommend eating here, as the food is simply amazing, and the atmosphere is delightful. As part of my work schedule, I only have one weekend off a month. During that weekend off, we have pledged to do Sunday brunch every single month. Seriously, it is that good. read more

I enjoy going here for morning breakfast or brunch. It has one of the coolest vibes on the downtown Cumberland walking mall. The food is awesome, sitting at the counter is neat, and the brick decor offers a feel of being in a large city cafe. Not a very environmentally conscience establishment. The owner would rather pay to have his spent coffee grounds hauled to the landfill, rather than save them for someone like me to use for organic gardening. Said he didn't have room for a bucket, but has plenty of room for multiple trash cans. I will admit that the coffee is quite excellent, albeit a bit overpriced for the area. But what really bugs me is this: their tip jar is situated by the cash register when you pay. As far as I am concerned, tips are to be earned by providing a good service. Food was good. The problem is the service. Ordered at 8:16 am. Two tables came in after us and got their food before us. When our order was brought to the table around 9 am, one of our sandwiches was missing. The lady apologized and said they would cook it now. Since they were working on it, we asked them to make the bacon extra crispy. When the last sandwich got to the table, the bacon was floppy. Disappointing experience. read more
