The food I got was quite boring, it wasn't very enjoyable to eat and wasn't pleasant. My daughter got chicken fingers off the children's menu and she was not happy. The service was good, but we could barely understand our waitress. The coke seemed watered down. The booze was good. read more

We used to love Cafe Mirage and would eat there multiple times during our stays. The past few time in September and on this trip have just been mediocre. The specials have been the same for the past couple years with nothing new and exciting to try. But our take-out this weekend was most disappointing. The horseradish crusted salmon was very bland and I barely received any green beans. My husband's shrimp and grit cakes (which is one of our favorites) was also a letdown, with the sausage being super thin and dry with barely any of the cream sauce. I wouldn't take off stars for this, but it's worth mentioning that with a $60 take-out order we didn't receive any plastic cutlery or napkins. We took it back to our hotel room and had to ask the front desk, which was a real nuisance. The peanut butter pie, however, was excellent. I noticed that they're not in the top 10 anymore and now I can see why. Looks like we'll have to sadly find a new go-to in OC. read more

Gourmet burger and more. I tried the mirage burger, medium, with cheddar. Amazing. Great flavor, cooked to the right temp, and the over medium egg on top added something kind of special. This is a small place, easily missed, but if you find you way in here you won't be disappointed. Fries are hand made and salted perfectly. Visited Cafe Mirage a few weeks ago in the summer of 2024, our first time there, we elected to eat outside as it was a nice night, plus the inside was a little loud. There was a large variety of appetizers, but the appetizers were very, very different. We did not elect to get an appetizer. I enjoyed breaded catfish it was very perfect. I've never had catfish but would get it again, my husband had the pan seared scallops, which were excellent, there is a full bar there and the staff is very exceptionally nice. If you are looking for a hidden gem in Ocean City, you need to visit this place. We came as a group of 5 and we ordered 5 appetizers and all of them were delicious. A crab dip, smoked tuna dip, fried green tomato, beet salad and the house cut fries with bacon and cheese were so tasty. The red snapper was great and most of us enjoyed the home made sweet potato salad, which was unique. Drinks selection was fantastic, including some cool and tasty drinks. Little hidden away in the back corner of a shopping center. Thanks to other Yelp reviews and the desire to try a new place, Cafe Mirage it was. Just outside the door was a chalk board with the specials. We were greeted immediately as we entered the door. I requested a table outside and that was no problem. The inside and outside dining areas are both small. Our server greeted us a few minutes after being seated. We had decided on everything and placed our order. The service was excellent. I forgot our servers name, but he was very friendly and attentive. The appetizer arrived quickly and soon to follow was our dinner. Our server stopped by plenty of times to check on everything. The wife and I hit Cafe mirage every time we go to Ocean city. And this trip was no different. We arrived at about 7:30, to no wait which is pretty typical, and for the life I've had don't understand why. The menu is very simple, and typically the same year round, with a couple specials here and there. I got the crab bisque, a Caesar salad, and typically either get mahi or grouper, and the grouper was perfect as always. The service here is always on point. And as always, we had the lady with the crazy socks. This is the simple little cafe, with a really good food, tucked away in the corner of a little shopping center. We will be coming back, next time we come to Ocean city. read more

Cafe Mirage owners asked us to leave after spending $275. Won't be back. So eat and get the f--k out! We are locals and frequent this restaurant often. Tonight, we were embarrassed and disrespected by being asked to leave, before our meal was completed. While our dinner plates had been collected, we were still drinking our adult beverages when the female owner approached our table and asked us to leave as they had diners with reservations who required our table. Our initial reaction...WTF? We had 4:30 reservations for four people and we were prompt. Actually, when we arrived, the restaurant was entirely empty. There were four of us....two couples. We hadn't seen our friends in a while, so we ordered drinks and an appetizer while we spent time catching up. The waitress was attentive and asked us if we were ready to order our meals...which we did after consuming the appetizer and our first round of drinks. The food was great, as it usually is. So was the appetizer and the drinks. So, no complaints on that front. We finished our dinner and were winding down...with our remaining drinks, not water, when the owner approached our table, at 6:25 and asked us to leave, as there was another party who needed our table. What? Really? Are you kidding me? We were about 10 minutes from leaving anyway. What a shocking conclusion to an otherwise nice and enjoyable evening. My guests were dumbfounded and we were embarrassed. We all promptly collected our belongings and left the establishment in something bordering on shame and bewilderment. In less than two hours, we ordered a bottle of wine, six mixed drinks, an appetizer, and four entrees. The bill, with a 25% tip, came to over $275. This experience has soured me on Cafe Mirage and we won't be back...despite the fact that we love the food and visit often. Neither will our guests, who are also locals. This will deprive us of a good dining establishment and Cafe Mirage of future income from us. You just can't treat guests like that, in my opinion and expect them to turn the other cheek. It was a sad ending to an otherwise nice evening. I'm sure there will be others who will jump to the owners defense and find fault with my actions or make excuses...so break out your swords and have at it. read more

Came here for dinner since my friend lives close by. There was outdoor seating and we grabbed a table to dine and enjoy the sunset. The blackened tuna and grilled snapper were delicious. This was the final dinner for my wife and I as we left from this year's week long stay in June. What a way to cap off the week. Reservations were a simple process. We called before the restaurant was open and left a message. I thought we would never get a call back but surprisingly enough, I received a call and was able to schedule a time near what I had requested. The restaurant is located in the corner of an unassuming strip mall. Thankfully we saw Cafe' Mirage on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Otherwise, I would have assumed it was a kebab place or something similar. I started with a strawberry basil mule and my wife had a pina colada (I think). I remember she really liked her drink and I really liked mine. For an appetizer we shared the beet salad and we both really enjoyed it. For dinner my wife had a tuna steak and I had the shrimp and chorizo with grits. Her tuna steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It stood on it's own but had a great combination of pan fried green beans, potatoes, and summer vegetables along with it. The shrimp for the shrimp and grits was also perfectly cooked and they were very large. The chorizo was tasty and I really appreciated how they tried to do something different with the grits by deep frying them in a thick triangle. Unfortunately the grits just had no flavor when prepared this way. If I could make a suggestion I would like to see them try some savory cheese grits with green chilies added and then prepare them in the same way. I think they would be much more flavorful. Overall, we really enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and most importantly the food. We will definitely return to Cafe' Mirage on our next visit. read more

Such a wonderful place! Went for dinner with a party of 6 on a Thursday evening at 5:30pm. I definitely recommend a reservation as they get packed quickly. By the time we left out dinner, most tables were reserved/taken. Food and service was fantastic! I unfortunately cannot remember out servers name, but she was attentive, kind, and helpful with any of of questions. We had a few different appetizers and entree specials and left full and satisfied. The blackened tuna and avocado corn salad special was amazing (arguably the best tuna I've had). The wait was long and place is small but the food is delish. Over the last five or six years we have had above average to very good meals at Cafe Mirage. We stopped going in 2019 only to return in 2020. Had a very, very good meal. Cheeseburger added bacon and grilled onions to the sandwich. My wife had the seafood potpie. All was good including the peanut butter pie. Since we had such a good experience and live across the street, today we tried to order dinner for about 20 of my friends. We were told they could not accommodate our order because we ordered extras that were clearly mentioned on the menu as adds! We tried to order sandwiches and add bacon and onions to sandwiches. At that point we decided never to eat at the restaurant again. No excuses. You have a restaurant in a parking lot in the corner of a dead strip mall and can't accommodate your customers. Shame on you I no longer care if you make it or not. read more

Everything is good there, the food, service and drinks. Close to the park so it's easy to walk to and see the fireworks or Winterfest.

The sign threw me off here. I don't know what type of food I was expecting to get here but it was not what I saw on the menu. That's not a complaint, I was extremely happy. This place does a seasonal menu which I LOVE. Now that is a true chef. We had lamb chops and gumbo and they were both delicious. We sat at the bar and our server was so friendly and attentive, I can only hope that we get him again. Overall we had a wonderful experience here and loved the food. What a wonderful hidden gem in North OC! We found this restaurant on Yelp, and the reviews did not lie - the food was amazing! We had a steak and crab cake combo that was served with mashed potatoes and green beens. Delicious! We were impressed with courteous and fast service, despite the fact that we were a party of 9. We would've never found this place if we were just driving by, it is tucked in a storefront, but we were so glad we decided to dine there. Would come back if we are in the area again. read more

Fries were great with sandwiches I enjoyed the strawberry basil drink however I didn't love the seafood pot pie it was creamer than for my taste and I felt it was cold I guess looking back I should have asked for them to heat it up. Service was good and two of our 4 meals were good (grouper snd Cesar salad w/crab cake). Two of us had the fillet special and it was the singular worst piece of beef I have ever had in any restaurant. The "medium" fillet did not have even a hint of pink, it was very dry and the only flavor was the char which left a charcoal taste in the mouth. The mashed potatoes were similarly devoid of flavor and wet to the point of being runny. Very disappointed in a place we've been anxiously waiting for a chance to try. read more
