Lox Salmon Benedict
Pamela L.

I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict. Ohhh la la ! It was delicious. Plenty of hollandaise sauce. The drop poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The potato's were steaming and moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. They were flavored perfectly. We had an upbeat attentive waitress named Dianna. She was bubbly and friendly. The restaurant is showing some signs of aging but the cleanliness was an A+.

Accommodated our large group on Christmas Eve and our server was SO great to us throughout the couple of hours! We brought our own wine (uncorking fee), ordered other cocktails, had lots of great food and enjoyed everyone around. Staff were all so festive and friendly. Ambiance was welcoming and will go back again

I can see why this place is a popular spot for weekend brunch! Parking lot is big but shared with other businesses in that lot. Luckily we made a reservation for a Sunday morning and were seated right away. But it does get very busy and even if you have to wait, there is a small lake right near there just down the stairs and you can take a quick lap or two while you are waiting. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and gave us the time and space we needed to decide and chat. We did not feel rushed at all even though their waiting area were full. I was very excited about the Monte Cristo Waffle but sadly have to say it was a bit disappointing. The waffle was too thick and flavorless and not a good vessel for the ham cheese and jam, the whole thing just really fell apart when I picked it up. I would have preferred regular French toast buns for sure. Other than that, my group enjoyed the breakfast croissant sandwich, veggie omelette, and blackened chicken sandwich. The fries were hot and crispy and the breakfast potatoes were seasoned and hearty. I loved that the crumb cake was warmed up but it was dry. Overall I think if you are looking for a good brunch place Cafe Murrayhill for sure has something for everyone! Make sure to make a reservation!

A solid place to come to for brunch where there's both indoor and outdoor seating. The place does get busy during the weekend, but we were lucky and got seated right away. I had the eggs benedict as that was the recommended dish. My friends also had that and a mushroom and bacon omelet. My eggs benedict was good. I tried some of the omelet, and that was good as well.

The jail seat, you will be forgotten.

Back again! Manager was concerned about our previous visit. Without prior notice we dropped in again to give it another chance. Great Job Murray Hill, You did greaaaaat! Thank you Omni for your recommendations, i will definitely try the Lox Benedict next time around. Being pancake snobs, we had a single plain pancake, pretty tasty about 3/8" thick but wasn't too dry. It was a little thick for my wife's taste, but Id do pancakes again... thanks guys for a great visit, glad I gave it a second chance and will return for another brunch date in the future.

Great morning at this spot. We stopped for breakfast out of the blue on our walk and what a great idea this was. I ordered the mushroom omelette. Perfect amount of food. The omelette was cooked to perfection considering I ordered it without cheese. Great combination of ingredients. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and a side of avocado toast which complimented the meal. Great portions and costs for what we ordered. Nice job on the presentation too. The server checked in with us the perfect amount of times. We also had the opportunity to sit under the morning sun overlooking the beautiful pond. We'll be back for breakfast soon. Great spot!

I give this place 3.5 stars. The breakfast was fantastic, service was quick and efficient. Some of the silverware seemed dirty. The matcha latte was really bad and I wouldn't recommend. The green color was really off, and it was super grainy and thick. Worst matcha I have had, but the food redeemed it. The chicken fried steak is fantastic. Everyone was super friendly too!

Mushroom & Bacon Omelet and turmeric latte

This cafe is hard to beat for outdoor dining with a lakeside view! Mushroom and bacon omelet: it felt like slightly too much egg, but otherwise very good. The egg was nice and fluffy and filling was tasty. The seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside, and the biscuit was tender and moist. They use a house-made turmeric syrup for the turmeric latte, which was tasty. Service was fast and friendly. If you're looking for a nice American breakfast/brunch with a view, this is the place to go!

4/18/2024 - Parmesan Crusted Halibut and a glass of Ruby Pinot Noir

A friend suggested we go here for dinner. I remembered I had not eaten here in a long while and did not go here for reasons. I am glad that I was not remembering my previous experience and that I am usually pretty accommodating to friends. There are a few exceptions - like when the trauma is so bad you end up with PTSD. With all of that said, this was a lovely way to dine for certain down to the other diners! Two lovely ladies who were getting up to leave said that they highly recommended the Quesadilla for an appetizer. When strangers have such a great experience they want to share, that is saying a whole lot! I'm so happy we chose outside to sit - it was a beautiful day and the view of the water, lovely gardens and a whole lot of Canadian geese is just wonderful where you get to feel a little fancy in the tron. They have a nice fire pit out there also if you want some warmth. I started with a glass of their Ruby Pinot Noir which was lovely - perfect though I did start asking for a glass of rose and then maybe a red blend. Sometimes a Pinot Noir can be a bit heavy and it was good so I appreciated the recommendation. My friend loved her Pinot Gris which was Kings Estate. Service was great and our food came out fast...perhaps too fast. My only complaint was that my friend and I had the same order nearly where we asked for a small salad for me and a cup of soup for her and also entrees. She and I were both rather taken aback as all our food was brought out at once which is just covering the table and overwhelming. They did not ask which most restaurants do if you order items that can be coursed. We just assumed they would do that. So, apparently you need to ask for that unless you like to eat in this fashion. I ordered a small Murrayhill salad without blue cheese and it was quite good. I probably would have eaten far more of it but it was served with my entrée and di not keep as I tried to take it to go. I really REALLY love their Parmesan crusted halibut. The asparagus was also amazing. The mashed potatoes seem rather cold and not as creamy as I would have liked though I love that they used red potatoes and leave the skin in. We saved room for crème brulee which was incredible though HUGE... You will need backup!

I recently co- hosted a birthday luncheon at Cafe Murrayhill. The staff was so easy to work with, especially Gabriel and our server, Rose. We had planned our event for ten people to be overlooking the lake, but rain required us to move indoors. They allowed us to come an hour early to decorate, and they set up extra tables for cake, appetizers, etc. We pre-ordered a number of appetizers, and food was delicious and substantial, and the items came out exactly as ordered and at the perfect temperature. Servers were attentive, professional, and polite. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating a very special birthday for a very special person. Thank you, Cafe Murryhill!

Expensive for what it is, which is basic sub-par cafe breakfast. Got food poisoning, my guess is from the Hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict.

Inside is clean, bright but impersonal and generic. Maybe they just haven't had the time to put their stamp on it yet. The upsides - there is table service now and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I've ordered their Country Fried Steak with scrambled eggs multiple times now. Still a very good steak and sausage gravy. Either the steak breading of the sausage gravy was maybe a touch more salty than usual. The eggs were disappointing- scrambled eggs should be fluffy due to constantly stirring over low heat in a pan - and previously they always had been. This time they were a overcooked dense, dry puck, It was as if the egg mixture was poured out on the flattop, left and flipped once. Still eatable with hot sauce. Over all - they did hit a ball, but definitely no home run. It's unlikely that I'll be back.

My breakfast partner had the veggie hash which was enjoyed very much. I had the Truckstop breakfast with 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, veggie sausage (comes with your choice of protein), and a cat's head biscuit (that's what we called giant biscuits in the South). The cook prepared the scrambled eggs perfectly - I order eggs "scrambled, soft" but don't always come out that way, but they were expertly on target here. The breakfast potatoes were glorious- a generous serving of perfectly seasoned, fluffy soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, two pieces of tasty vegan sausage, and the biscuit had been sliced and heated on the stove and came with butter and what I suspect might have been housemade berry jam. I am fussy about pancakes and didn't see anyone else with them on their plates (as I rubbernecked around the room to see what people were eating) but I think I'll try one next time, now that I know what an exceptionally good job they did with everything on this first visit. There is only neighborhood street parking, FYI. There's only a handful of tables inside (and a couple outside) but the space is nice and cozy. They have both plants and art on the walls for sale. Their menu offers a number of options for both drinks and food. I had a mango mimosa (one of the best mimosas I've had in some time) to drink, and a pancake and the vegetable hash to eat. The pancake was wonderful. The hash was a great mix of veggies and the most perfect poached eggs on top. It was served with a small spring mix salad. My complaint with all the food was that it was just ok. While prepared well, it all lacked flavor. Nothing seasoned or stood out as a great dish. The service was fantastic. A small staff, but they all were doing everything and I believe everyone touched our table throughout our dining experience. I'd go back, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list to revisit.

They have gluten free bread in a separate toaster that doesn't fall apart and was delicious in a breakfast sandwich. They have gluten free waffles that are definitely on our list next time to try. Biscuits Cafe is definitely the best breakfast we've had in a long while. We needed a new place for gluten free breakfast since iHop stopped serving gluten free pancakes. The kitchen is out in the open to watch them cook the food and they even have a dedicated biscuit warmer. The biscuits were the best I've ever had! Flaky and melt in your mouth, especially with the fresh jam and whipped butter! They played good music and the staff was super friendly and immediately sat us. Our server was Jose A. B, he gave me his opinion between two menu options and I went with the Hash and Eggs. The red potatoes were seasoned great.
