Lunch menu (Front) 6/2025
Erin R.

Walked over from Delgado with a few classmates for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a little busy, but we were able to quickly find a table outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu offered an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, sides, and even included a few items for the pups! Our waiter was friendly and the food came out quick. We were excited to discover that they offer Delgado students 10% off! We'll definitely be back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for a casual relaxed dining experience with indoor or outdoor seating, I'd definitely recommend coming here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a nice neighborhood spot with nice outdoor seating that's dog friendly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It gets very busy on the weekend but they still get you seated and served in a reasonable time frame. The food is pretty standard, I had a good cheeseburger.

Chicken Pesto Panini

Cute neighborhood Café and customer service. I got the chicken pesto Panini, it was a solid panini nothing extravagant.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I came here for brunch on Sunday and got a table outside. It was pretty packed because it was a beautiful day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, our server was really attentive and sweet! The blueberry pancakes aren't listed on the menu nor are the bottomless mimosas but they are both available! My food was delicious and I plan on coming back for sure

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Getting here around noon on. Saturday n it was packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's open seating but I think you still need to check in with someone inside, especially if you have a bigger group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and I noticed they do have little roll-up (or down) clear plastic incase the weather gets funky[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The service was great, no complaints but were easy customers so it was all pretty straightforward. We both got omelettes and they were really good. I went with the southwest omelette which hit the spot. The eggs were cooked just right and they're sizable. I'm always happy when a place knows how to do grits and Navarre's were on point. Not too soupy or lumpy- the perfect consistency. You may need to add a little salt and pepper to it but I prefer to season my own grits anyway. They also do bottomless mimosas for $20 which is a pretty damn good deal. I'm definitely re-listing this place high up on my breakfast/brunch list for those nice days biking through city park n need a solid bite to eat.

Iced mocha

Went for breakfast. Staff was amazing. So friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]If its a pretty day, this is the perfect breakfast spot to sit outside and enjoy the weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The iced mocha was delicious. Not too sweet and perfect to start off your day. The 3 eggs and grits with gravy were delicious as well if you're craving a traditional egg breakfast. Now for the star of the show - the Cuban sandwich! Wow. So good!!!!! I'll definitely be back for the Cuban and will crave it until I can have it again.

I've been wanting to dine at Cafe Navarre for a really long time and finally got the chance on a weekday morning. It's street parking only and I found a park easily. I imagine it would have been more of a challenge on the weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we entered, we were able to sit wherever we wanted and chose a table in the elevated section of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The biscuit was sliced open, buttered, grilled and most importantly, it was on point! I wasn't a fan of the grits but the other guest loved them. The omelet was decent, maybe slightly overcooked, but had good flavor. I'm definitely glad that I tried this place, but think there are better options around.

Chicken pesto panini was great for a light lunch of a hot summer day. I switched out the kettle chips for a side Caesar salad and it paired very well with the sandwich. The Caesar dressing on the salad and the pesto on the sandwich were both very yummy. We sat outside and it was nice with fans blowing on us and music playing as well as many shaded tables and chairs. Our waitress was good also. The inside did look old and the bathroom was small. Enjoyed my lunch.

Super solid chicken salad sandwich, the salad with fried shrimp was very good too. My partner and I came for lunch on a Thursday at 2. Seating was fast and easy, they had the fans blowing outside so it felt so good even though it was 90° outside - it was perfect. The service was so kind and also fast. They also offer many drink options (we just had water)! The playlist was FIRE. Top r&b, soul, & hip hop beats for the whole time we were there. Loved that. Vibed out on the patio!!! Super solid, quick lunch spot. Fairly priced. $40 for two for lunch (tip included in that). Stop by & enjoy. I'll be back.

Irish coffee
Leslie S.

Went for a brunch with friends and boy do they get busy getting closer to lunch. Their hot Irish coffee is delicious and comes with a caramel drizzle. I got the bacon avocado Benedict and the poached eggs were overcooked but the flavor was decent. The breakfast potatoes were your run of the mill breakfast potatoes.

It's great for what you come for...a neighborhood restaurant with good food and excellent service. I come two to three tines a month and will do so indefinitely

An outdoor patio on a beautiful New Orleans day. Perfect experience for this Maryland foodie! Friendly-fast service, affordable cuisine and amazing food. If you find yourself in New Orleans, Cafe Navarre is a must! The breakfast bowl reminded me of an open-faced omelet. All of the components paired together worked perfectly, especially the potatoes. I am a sucker for perfectly seasoned home fries! There is nothing worst than wasting your daily carb intake on bland potatoes. One things for sure, Cafe Navarre nailed it with these spuds! I almost ordered a second helping! The frozen Irish coffee was the ideal drink to pair with this tasty breakfast dish. The liquor to coffee ratio was perfect. And I did not feel guilty at all for having two! These five stars were definitely well-earned! Awesome experience!

Charlie's Moon Sandwich is gravy roast beef, grilled ham, provolone, Swiss, coleslaw and Russian Dressing on a muffuletta loaf. A quarter of this sandwich is plenty for 1 person and very satisfying with all of the tasty ingredients. Hubby had his fav-a hot sausage poboy and his sister got a plain fried grouper sandwich (yeah, plain. I don't know what to say about that, lol). We also had frips-flatter than a French fry, thicker than a chip. Everything was super tasty and I love the Nola retro vibe of the dining room. The owner was great. Even with my sandwich, I coveted my neighbors around me who got spaghetti and meatballs, meatloaf and mash and shrimp poboy!

Every pizza here is true St. Louis-style: thin, cracker-like crust, topped with a unique Provel cheese blend, and cut into squares. We ordered the Francesca Pizza and swapped the seasonal berries for fresh garlic--an incredible choice. We also tried the fried green tomatoes, one of the daily specials, and I can honestly say they were the best I've ever had. The pizza was outstanding as well. Francesca has a neighborhood vibe--think local sports bar with a family-friendly feel. The service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu and daily specials. Highly recommend!

If you are reading this, which of course I know you are, BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WAIT! If you read…read morethe whole review I'll give you the best tip on how to skip the line (insert shushing emoji) and don't cheat by skipping to the end! Hands down, the best po'boys in all of NOLA. Everything is made from scratch (except the bread, which they source locally), and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are the Surf & Turf and the James Brown. The Surf & Turf gives you get the best of both worlds (shout out to Hannah Montana). Look it up kids. You get the slow-cooked roast beef with gravy plus fresh Gulf shrimp. Shut the front door! The James Brown is just as incredible: juicy BBQ beef, pepper jack cheese, fried shrimp, and a hot sauce mayo. Bring napkins - you'll need them. Pro tip: go with a group and order a few different po'boys to share. You'll want to try everything. You made it to the end, so here we go. I feel like gate keeping (look it up old-timers), but I'm going to be generous because I love y'all. In order to skip the line, go to the bar area and find a high top or seat at the bar. A seat always opens up quickly. It never fails. You can order from the bartender and the service is top notch. Cheers y'all!

The cheese fries are a sad shame. It's just melted cheddar that immediately solidifies on regular fries and gets super greasy. The fried pickles were good. The grilled chicken poor boy wasn't it - it was bland. The gumbo was good but quite watery - not many ingredients. Very little rice. Not pictured - the cole slaw was really bland. The potato salad was the best one. Husband enjoyed the fried shrimp. The roast beef tasted like cat food - terrible texture. The merch is super overpriced ($25 for a dog toy? Out of a vending machine!) The bathrooms were air conditioned and clean.
