This has got to be one of the best and authentic Italian restaurants in the Arlington/Mansfield area. My go-to orders are the calzone and the New York-style pizza. Now this is how a pizza should be done. Whenever ordering their pizzas, go ahead and add extra cheese because it doesn't cost extra! However, extras on all other toppings will be an additional cost. Personally, I think the pizzas are better than Papa John's, which was what I usually got before Cafe Sicilia's pizzas. The pizzas are reasonably priced, too. The best calzone I've had so far. If you order the calzone, it usually comes with sausage, but replace it with pepperoni instead and try it like that... it is out of this world. The cheese melts in your mouth - a definite must-try. I hate to end this review on a bad note: I recently ordered the deep dish pizza and man, was I disappointed. I was expecting a really cheesy, saucy, deep dish. I got the complete opposite - literally. There is a top layer of ingredients and whatnot but beneath that is about 2 inches of nothing but thick dough. As you can imagine, the dough can get dry pretty quick if not eaten fresh and left for later. I am not taking away stars on this post because the deep dish was just to give it a try, which I will not be trying again. But the New York-style pizza and calzone are so good that I have no choice but to have this rating as a 5/5! read more

My husband & I pass this place all the time so we decided to give it a try. I was so excited to see that the menu had such an extensive selection of seafood entrees. We ordered the: Stuffed Mushrooms with Crabmeat. . .$5.95 Zuppa Di Pesce . . . . . . . . .$14.95 Sumptuous assorted seafood (shrimp, mussels, scallops, clams, and crabmeat) in our zesty Marinara Sauce. It was horrible. The mushrooms came out in this strange saucy broth & was stuffed with imitation crabmeat. I had the Pasta Fagioli soup which I found was not edible. The pasta in the soup was overcooked & mushy & the broth had a weird taste. It was lukewarm not even hot. I had it replaced with the salad which was bland but edible. The main entree was the worst. I barely had any shrimp. The scallops were tiny baby size & like my appetizer, It had that same cheap horrible imitation crabmeat. It was all chopped up in my pasta & in my opinion it served as a filler for the lack of real seafood. For a seafood lover, it was a big disappointment & for $14.95, I expected better. read more

I found this little place here on yelp and I realized I've been driving by this place for so long. ITS WONDERFUL! I started out with the little starter fluffy garlic bread, got a bowl of this bean pasta soup which was delicious and even better with the bread dipped in! My entree was Flounder Florentine, and I was NOT disappointed. It was drenched in their creamy spinach Alfredo sauce which didn't over power the mozzarella covered slices of tomato and flounder. The flounder was cooked so nicely it delicately fell apart with every bite.(Just ate my leftovers and it was just as satisfying as I first ate it) I constantly got my water refilled. The staff was super sweet and attended to all of our needs. The place is set up beautifully with different sections and the bathroom was super clean. They even sang happy birthday to my friend and gave her a chocolate cannoli. I can honestly say, they have given me hope again. I will be going back! Stopped in today for dinner. I don't take breaks very often from work, but since I came in an hour early today, I decided to treat myself. I had the flounder florentine with a salad. The dish, that took in my opinion, a long time to prepare , came out piping hot. The waitress did apologize for the length of time that it took to prepare my dish. It was a little Bland, so I had to add a little salt. I always like pepper, and I added a little crushed red pepper. The dish included flounder sliced tomatoes covered in mozzarella cheese comma on the bed of spaghetti in alfredo sauce. The dish was good, and I was glad that it had spinach in there so I can get my vegetables in. It came with a side salad that was mostly lettuce. There was some other ingredients in the salad but they we're such a small quantity that I cannot tell you what they were. Maybe carrots. I ordered a tomato vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was so thick that it may as well been called marinara. There was a hint of vinegar in the dressing, but like I said it was thick AZ spaghetti sauce. I saw some other stuff on the menu that I may be willing to try. A couple of veal dishes sounded interesting. I ordered the seafood fetuccine with pink sauce (a mix of white creamy cheese and red tomato sauce). It came with pasta fagioli soup, which was absolutely wonderful. The seafood fetuccine just blew me away because it was so delicious and unlike any pasta I've had in the past. The shrimp and scallops were so fresh. I read another review that the tiramisu was so good that you would not want to share it. Boy, that was so true. I thought it was the best tiramisu in North Texas so far. On top of all that, the service was great and the decor transported you to Italy. Finally, an Italian restaurant in south Arlington that has exceptional cuisine. If you are tired to go at chain Italian restaurant this is a good choice. we had the tortellini in pink sauce very good and the cappellini in alfredo sauce was good with a good amount of sauce on. The best was the tiramisu that we decide to split because we were full which was a mistake we should have gotten our own slice of tiramisu. We will be back for sure. read more

Have you ever went to a restaurant, saw an item on the menu (veal with eggplant and ham) and thought "wow, this sounds delicious" and then ask your server if they think it's good and they tell you it's very good? Then they bring out a plate of spaghetti noodles, a piece of deli ham, a slab of rubbery veal and 2 cheese slices on top. Wtf? I can't even believe they have more than one location. Their nice servers are probably what's keeping this place afloat cuz it ain't the food. I'm upset I used this place on my cheat day but kinda glad I used a groupon. We came here because of a Groupon and we're pleasantly surprised. My mom loved the decor, I personally found the fake ivy a little gimmicky. We ordered the garlic bread while we looked at the menu and it was probably the best part of the meal. It was so buttery with herbs. We need up getting the lasagnaans the chicken parmesan. The portion were pretty good sized for the price (not very expensive but a touch more than most) and we both ended up needing to go boxes. The best part of the restaurant was the variety of options. I took a long time to order because so much stuff looked good. I want to come back again and try some of the dishes I hadn't seen before. Went there tonight to meet a friend for dinner. We are both chefs. I had the chicken Marsala. The pasta was over cooked and after one bite I left the rest on the plate. The chicken was decent but found a piece of tendon which is inedible. The mushrooms were canned, they had a tinny taste and the texture was not like any fresh mushrooms that I've ever had. The Marsala sauce was more like a brown sauce with hardly any Marsala flavor at all. The best part of the meal was the garlic roll and the sweet tea. The service was fine, and we were checked on several times by staff, but no further inquiry during the table touch. OK let me start by saying that I'm a chef. And I'm also Italian. I grew up eating my grandmother's Italian food from Italy. My reviews on Italian restaurants are typically a little harsher than most. I try my very best to tone them down because of my background. Now with all that being said there's still no reason that a restaurant should not use fresh ingredients in their food. I I had the Caesar salad the dressing was obviously bottled dressing. And probably an off-brand bottle at that. It was horrible. It had no taste of Parmesan cheese or garlic or anchovies or any of the other typical things that go into a caesar salad dressing. It tasted like sweet, white, thickened water. For my entree I had the chicken with mushrooms and artichoke hearts. The artichoke hearts tasted okay. The sauce was decent. The chicken was tender and cooked correctly. The mushrooms came out of a can. No I'm not kidding. If you have ever had canned mushrooms you know what they taste like and it's a very specific flavor. These definitely came out of a can. A #10 can from some mass market vendor like Sysco or US Foods. The pasta that the chicken sat on top of was overcooked to the point of being mushy. Typically I judge an Italian restaurant based on its cannolis. And while this was a dessert item on the menu I could not torture my tastebuds any further. I passed on the cannolis in this instance. The service was decent. Two people came and checked on me while I dined and asked how everything was. In their defense I did not complain I simply said the food was okay. Any server or restaurant manager worth their salt knows that when a patron says the food is okay that there is definitely something wrong period however no one pressed me for any further information so I finished my meal, paid and simply left. read more

The bread rolls are fluffy and delicious, the pasta fagioli soup was amazing. I tried the Veal Piccata and it was the best I've ever had. Really, really good. My wife had the pasta and shrimp and said the alfredo sauce was the best she's had at an Italian restaurant. We will definitely be going here for our Italian fix from now on. read more

Everyone looked like they were really enjoying their dinner and service. My husband and I drove 45 minutes to use a groupon that his mom bought him for his birthday. Our server didn't wait on us, aperently he had family at the table next to us there for a birthday so he was distracted (according to the hostess). Some one else took our order, the hostess brought our food.we couldn't get our water refilled or napkins. Another lady brought a check 2 minutes after we got our food and we definitely weren't even close to being done. We had to go to the hostess stand to get a box and pay for our food because no one came back. The table next to us had a server stop and check on them 4 times after they got their food, to check on quality. We couldnt flag anyone down because they wouldn't look our way. Cafe Sicilia just opened off Matlock and Harris Road, and they are definitely worth a visit. I give them 5 stars. Most importantly, they have great food. I've tried the lasagne, calzone, tortellini michelangelo (excelllent!!), and fried calamari. Everything was delicious, and you can tell that their food is made from scratch from fresh ingredients. Their prices are very reasonable! Their lunch menu is priced from $5.80 to $6.75. This includes bread (which is tasty), a drink and a salad or soup. Their dinner selections are also very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive and I found the ambiance to be very pleasant with an old-world-Italy style....a relaxing way to enjoy a nice meal. Cafe Sicilia is definitely going in my restaurant rotation. I think if you try them once, they'll be a part of your rotation too! ENJOY!! read more
