PSA: it is BYOB ! My boyfriend and I came at a random hour so it was pretty empty. I saw that it had great reviews on Yelp so we decided to come check it out. We stopped by the convenience store that is next door to grab a bottle of wine. We walked in and was seated. Our waiter was very kind to bring us wine glasses and pour the wine for us. He helped us choose our entrees because it was our first time there. Appetizer: We got the mussels It was super good! Came with sun dried tomatoes and toasted bread. Who knew bread and mussels were a compliment. I got the Chicken Alfredo and boyfriend got another pasta dish that our waiter recommened but I forgot the name. Everything was so delicious! The portions are very big and we ended up taking left overs to go. The inside is very well decorated and really cute how they tried to bring the Italian vibe there. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for local italian restaurant that isn't too fancy but is still 5 star meal. read more

Kicking myself for not visiting Café Sicilia sooner, as I live only about a mile away. Finally saw a Groupon and decided I had to try it. What a neighborhood gem it turned out to be. Bring your own bottle of Chianti for a delicious and affordable Italian dinner! At the start of your meal, they bring you a basket with enormous freshly-baked rolls. While I didn't need the extra carbs, I couldn't resist polishing off one of these warm, savory beauties, which are excellent with a pat of butter. To start we ordered the country salad for two, which was really big enough for three or four. The house-made Italian dressing gave life to the artichoke hearts, lettuce and other assorted fresh vegetables. For dinner I asked our server to recommend one of the chicken dishes, and she pointed to the chicken rollatini, a customer favorite. Excellent choice, although you'll need to spend some extra time on the treadmill after dinner. The centerpiece of the dish is a chicken fillet stuffed with gooey mozzarella, served over a generous portion of fettucine. I wasn't sure I liked the sound of "famous pink sauce", as it sounded vaguely artificial, but it turned out to be really rich and delicious - I would guess it's made from tomato sauce and cream. I'm really picky about pasta, but mine was perfectly al dente. The service was warm and attentive - after our failed attempt to finish our meal, our server boxed and bagged our leftovers for us. Located in a small strip mall in a small apartment community but don't be fooled by the location. The restaurant offers beautiful Italian music and hand painted murals of the old country. The small dinning room provides for a beautiful dinning experience with the grapevines growing along the top of the roof. It is owned and operated by a beautiful family who have ties back to the old country and true to the families in the old country they treat you as family. They encourage you to bring the wine of your choice and will help pare your wine with a particular dish. If you don't have a wine or want a particular wine for your dish, I encourage you to stop in at Silver Dollar Winery located just East a couple blocks. They have a nice selection of wines to choose from. The menu offers a variety a salads to choose from as well as an extensive selection of pasta (s) and sauces. All of which are homemade and taste fabulous. You can choose from dishes with veal, chicken, seafood, and vegetarian. The have several options for those who like to finish the evening with a nice dessert. I personally didn't order any desserts but I encourage you to try one that speaks to you. I really wanted to love this place. I saw so many great reviews and was sure I'd be blown away. However that's not the case. I ordered a to-go order of seafood fettuccine with pink sauce and a large pepperoni pizza. The wait time was 35 mins, not a problem as it was a Saturday night. We got there 40 minutes after ordering and the pizza was not done. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes. After getting home and sitting down to eat my seafood fettuccine was cold... it was such a bummer. I warmed it up but I did not see the hype over this dish at all. I would not order this again. My boyfriends pizza was hot, however the cheese seemed over cooked and there was so much of it. read more

I have lived right next to this place for months and I finally decided to order some take out bc I wasn't feeling like being an adult and getting dressed to go out to eat. I ordered over the phone and it was quick and painless. I ordered the mozzarella sticks, lasagna, spicy shrimp pasta, and the dessert trio. One thing to mention they didn't tell me the price after he repeated the order back to me, which could be helpful to those using cash. After 15 minutes I went to pick up my food and pod $49.50 which I though was reasonably priced for 2 people. The mozzarella sticks were good but I'd probably order them fresh when I dine in versus to go. My lasagna was basically half mozzarella. I love cheese but man it was too much. Literally bite after bite full cheese and no meat or pasta. I even included a picture of the glob of cheese bc I thought is was a ridiculous amount. Besides the cheese it tasted wonderful. The flavor was amazing. My boyfriend enjoyed his spicy shrimp but said he probably wouldn't eat it again but it was tasteful. Our garlic bread was great. Just how we like it, crispy on the outside soft on the inside and garlicy and buttery. Yum! The dessert trio was great it had 4 bite size pieces of cheesecake 4 pieces of mini cannolis, and two slices of tiramisu. Overall I won't let an over cheesy lasagna stop me from trying this place again. I enjoyed everything else and I saw they have great lunch menus so I will definitely be back to give it a second chance. read more

After a week in Italy I was craving some relatively authentic Italian food. Cafe Sicilia comes close but misses the mark in a few areas. It's interior is cozy, with tiled floors, red and green seating, plastered walls and brick reminds one of the beauty and decay of Venice. The bread they serve, while not as hard as the fancy bread in Italy, was buttery and baked in a seasoned blend that was tasty but too doughy. Their salad is rather basic but is served with a house tomato vinaigrette that is light and flavorful. The lunch lasagna was a generous serving and bathed in a homemade tomato sauce which was a little too sweet. It was covered in what appeared to be a pre sliced piece of mozzarella that wasn't particularly flavorful and on top was a sprinkled unmemorable green garnish. The final let me down was they don't serve wine or espresso. The service was great, and the meal was cheap coming in at 7.50 for a salad iced tea and slice of lasagna but it also tasted cheap and lacked depth. I don't see myself coming back or recommending this place to a friend but I commend their attempt at providing a genuine and intimate experience. Bottom line: the service is great. They really want to ensure you are satisfied. It's BYOB and very affordable. However the dish I had left more to be desired and was not memorable. After speaking with mgmt about my experience I may give them one more chance and update this review. read more

My husband and I are always on the lookout for a good Italian restaurant, and we had not been to Cafe Sicilia. We made reservations for dinner on Good Friday. The restaurant was sort of cute, and our waiter was friendly. The food was moderately good and the portions were a good size. Why a 1 star review, you ask? Well, once we saw a baby cockroach crawl out of my husband's salad, our meal was over. We politely and quietly called our waiter over and whispered what happened, then gave him the proof in my husband's napkin, so as not to make a scene. They comped our meal--as they most certainly should have--but of course we cannot ever go back. Just in case you think this was a 'one-off' incident, let me explain that it was not. How do I know that? My husband used the men's room before we left the restaurant. He said it was FILTHY, not dirty, and there were no towels to dry his hands. What does this tell you about the male staff members who are using the restroom? Are they able to wash their hands (or at least dry them)?!? Ugh. read more

My hubby LOVES this place, so we have been here a few times. They are a little on the expensive side for my taste, so I'm glad when we can usually buy a Groupon. Their pasta dishes are pretty good, but I hadn't had anything out of this world here until our most recent trip. I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore with pink sauce. This dish came with mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and black olive and was delicious! This will definately be my goto from now on when we come here. I have also tried the Chicken Marsala which was pretty good, Chicken Piccata was good also but was pretty lemony, which my husband didn't like but I did. We also like to order a dozen of their rolls, bring them home and freeze then, and pull them out as we need them and I'll make them into garlic cheese bread. Their lemon cake is also very good, on the rare occasion we actually have room left! read more

For years this place has been my Go To, went in today for lunch with two coworkers, orders placed, coworkers got their food I was told mine is 1-2 minutes away. Everyone in here is very friendly and the vibe is old-school Italian grandmother's kitchen with fake ferns and wine bottles everywhere. All I can really taste in the food is butter. Lots of butter. I come here when I want to eat and drink for cheap. It's BYOB and the most expensive thing on the menu is like $16 and it probably comes with a salad and pasta. First time to eat here, I've driven by it for years. We ordered Chicken Rollatini and Chicken Castelini. Since I had the later I will review it first. The menu describes it as "Chicken breast with artichokes and mushrooms in a lemon white wine sauce, served over spaghetti pasta". (Salads are not included with entrees.) The meal came and I was very disappointed, I was served a large portion of pasta with a lot of mushrooms 2 small chicken medallions about 2" in diameter with 3 artichoke hearts. This was for $16.00 The Chicken Rollatini was about the same. A lot of pasta and mushrooms and a very small piece of chicken with cheese stuffed in it. About the same portion in my dish. It was also $16.00 I'm glad I did not order a salad as they were $2.00 for a small iceberg lettuce. I know this for the adjacent table's salads. The service was slow, once out food came we did not see our waitress again until the bill was presented. She did not manage her time between tables very well. I read many of the reviews and was looking forward to the dinner, but I should have dug a little deeper. Every Italian Food restaurant I have visited serves a salad with your entrees. I tried to get some more bread but could not gain the attention of the waitress. Huge disappointment. read more

I just picked up and enjoyed the Salmon Tascana with a side salad and it was delicious! The dish was hot and freshly made when I picked it up and still hot when I got home. The dinner rolls are to die for and even though I'm cutting back on breads, I couldn't resist because they were just out of the oven. Nothing like hot, great bread! I'm so full I can't enjoy the Swiss chocolate cake yet, but I took a bite and it's very yummy. Can't wait to get back to it! I highly recommend this local, small business. Honestly.. I really really love this place. Such a cute little mom and pop in a really good spot. (BYOB, we walk down to the little quicky mart and grab a bottle of wine that they open for you.) We've been here once before and the service wasn't really that good. It was on a Saturday night so it was pretty busy. The food was soooo good we had to give it another try! Boy, am I so glad we gave it another try. It was spectacular. We had a date day and ended here with a great meal, service, and bottle of wine. All thanks to Sam! I had the chance to visit this restaurant yesterday evening. This place was recommended by a great co-worker who met me there. I read some of the reviews before I went but made my own observations. This restaurant is in a small strip shopping center. You could drive right past it. So if you see the see the Shell gas station you're 200ft away. The outside of the restaurant doesn't do it any justice. The place is that Italian restaurant that only the few and real foodies know about. You come into the restaurant and there's booths on the sides and in the back and the rest are tables all for large families. Very clean but dark and a little old. You're greeted by a waiter immediately. He explained everything in detail. I had purchased the Groupon for this restaurant which gives you a lot to eat. So go get it. Hint!Hint! I ordered the salad and entree. The food was very good and tasteful. They give you HUGE ROLLS.
