Have been looking for a good, homey Italian restaurant that has a few keys dishes that I love including carpaccio di Manzo which is hard to find and even harder to find where it's well made. Girls night out brought us to this fabulous restaurant... The evening was delightful so we sat outside on the lovely patio. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and asked him a few questions about what to order. He certainly guided us in choosing the perfect dishes.. They started with freshly baked warm bread with the most devine olive oil with Rosemary and butter. Soon thereafter our fresh salads arrived lightly dressed. Our entrées, arrived and they were hot and delicious. We had a couple glasses of wine... We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our food, the atmosphere and the entire evening. We LOVE the food and service (Miguel) at Cafe Sole. We have been going for several years. Yesterday I took a friend to share the experience and it was delightful. The owner, Salvatore, is a magical chef who takes pride in his creations -- the bread (OMG), the appetizers, everything. But yesterday I took a chance and veered away from my usual pasta favorite (Capellini de Angelo) to try one of the specials -- Linguine, Mushrooms, Sausage, chopped tomatoes -- and it was fabulous. I hope they put it on the menu or offer it as a special often! My friend got the chicken panini and it was beautiful and she raved about it. It was also huge so she will get a second meal out of it. Also purchased my husband's favorite (penne arrabbiata) to take home so that he could enjoy. The setting is easy, offering covered outdoor as well as indoor. The way that Salvatore circulates to make sure all is well adds to the feeling of "home" and friendship. I forgot to tell him that my friend was born in Vicenza! Next time. But if you are anywhere near you must stop by and enjoy the food and the atmosphere. read more

What a hidden little treasure! Been wanting to try for a while and was deliciously rewarded. Fantastic fresh pasta makes all the difference. I had the pappardelle sole and friend had the ravioli zucca, both in tasty sauces. The pizza is genuine traditional and delish. We were so delighted by Cafe Sole. We wanted a simple, delicious Italian dinner by the movie theater before our show and knew they had excellent reviews, but was pleasantly surprised by just how good it was! Almost everything was homemade/handmade (the bread, pasta, sauces, desserts...) Starting with the salad, the balsamic vinaigrette, in perfect amounts coated the greens and veggies in a simple and satisfying way. Our seafood pasta dish was magnificent. The red sauce was not too overpowering, but simply delicious as we enjoyed the taste of the fresh ingredients. It was so good, I felt I could eat it alone as a soup. The pasta even tasted good, perfectly al dente and paired nicely with the sauce. The bread was baked that morning, with a crisp crust, soft inside, and the right amount of tang - Yum! (Dangerous! Don't get full on this too early.) We did save a slice to sop-up every last drop of the pasta sauce in the end. To top it all off (we usually try to avoid desserts. but couldn't resist the panna cotta with real vanilla beans and fresh strawberries. Yes, it tasted as good as it sounds (actually better!) Drool! Bonus: the owner (Angelo) and his mom were so nice! Thank you for a great evening! You made our palates and bellies extremely happy! We had to stop ourselves to have appetite for our meal. I wanted more! Our waiter recommended seafood pasta with tomato sauce, it just sounded simple and perfect, so I ordered it. My friends got sole fish with vegetables. We all loved what we ordered. My pasta was perfectly cooked aldente with perfectly cooked mussels, shrimp, salmon and squid. This new owner has not held a candle to the previous owners and the original owners. They managed to considerably raise prices, offer less from the menu and I am told will not serve you bread until you have ordered. Perhaps they do that because once one sees the prices, people leave before ordering so they can find something more in their budgets. A zero star is not an option, that's what Cafe Sole should be getting. I have been to this restaurant for years for good service and food. When my mom came into town, I took her and my family total 5 of us for dinner. The food is blended and the service is the worst from the beginning to the end of the meal. No customer service at all, I asked the waiter if there was seafood pasta in the white sauce since I did not see it on the menu. The waiter didn't even spend a second to answer a word, just finger-pointed to a red sauce pasta on the menu to get rid of my question. With a party of five, they gave us 2 small baskets of bread. Each of us gets not even two small pieces of bread. When we asked for the third one they want to charge $5 for it. They didn't check how was our food and if we need anything during the whole meal. They just send a bill with an automatedly added 22% gratuity with a party of 5. Seriously? We have been eating at the restaurant for over 30-something years, only a party of 6 or 8 added gratuity automatedly. I have no problem tipping 20-35%, that's the idea of a service business. If the service business not providing service to their customers, what service are they providing and why are we tipping them? I'll never go back there, it's a business for ripping off customers. read more

Good sized and well shaded and quiet patio too, a few smaller tables for those intimate two person meals . Friendly and fast wait staff ~ you show up and they get you seated A.S.A.P., no problem . Scrupulously clean every where, indoors, patio and the well equipped and CLEAN bathrooms that have soap and hand towels . Reasonable prices and fairly quick service once your order is in . The not so good : the 'home made' Lasagna has almost zero spices in it, I go to Italian places so I can get tasty food, not bland . The spaghetti was a good sized plate, my Lasagna was O.K., could have been a bit larger for $19.00 . Crusty sourdough bread and olive oil to dip it in while you wait . The disappointing : my Lasagna was served at room temperature . I understand they make it in large trays and then cut your portion out, nuke it in the microwave, slap it on a dish and bring it out but really : ROOM TEMPERATURE ? . _Sad_ .
