Came here on 10/24/22 for lunch. Had the Beef Shawarma, an IPA. Really good. Everyone in the group enjoyed their choices. The place was not crowded (probably do most of their business later). Hello everyone, as you can see I don't leave a lot of reviews, mostly because I believe when a bad experience happens at place, it could be because the restaurant ( or other businesses) is having a bad day, and I don't think it's fair to leave very nasty reviews and jeopardize people's lives, specially in an economy like today. That being said, the review about my experience at X2O is the exact opposite of a bad one. I'm an experienced chef, I've been cooking for over 25 years and started at age 15, back home, in France. I've eaten at so very many restaurants, from a simple burger joint to 3 Michelin star places. I've met a friend of long date today for lunch. Upon arrival, the manager, Rola, not mentioning a million dollar smile was very discret yet informative about the lunch special ( chicken kebab, yellow rice, garlic paste and salad) EVERYTHING on my Plate was cooked, seasoned and portioned perfectly. This is why I'll always keep going to mom and pops restaurant because there's still so many people wanting to serve great quality food with a huge emphasis on impeccable service and adequate recommendations. I had 2 beers, my friend had ice tea, 2 lunch specials, spicy hummus and tzatziki for less than 50 dollars. I highly recommend this place and from now on, when I'm craving authentic Lebanese food and I'm in a radius that is fair, I'll keep on going back. One last thing: TRUST WHAT THE MANAGER RECOMMENDS, she knows what's best for you. And with a smile like that, it would be completely unfair to not give this place a stellar review. This place is by far the best food, hookah, drinks, and especially service. The restaurant is beautiful and gives a sense of tradition and nostalgia. Roula is wonderful. Her smile is so welcoming. She checked on us so many times and made sure we were always okay and didn't need anything. I had a wonderful conversation with her and felt as though I have known her for years. The food was so much better than I expected. It was fresh and quick to come out. The hookah was also great. It did not burn quickly and coals were changed often. I have visited X2O at their different locations and have always enjoyed a good Lebanese meal. However; it wasn't until the last visit that I experienced the exceptional service. On this last trip, I was served by a new employee named Rola (Monrovia location). Rola was magnificent in suggesting the right appetizers, the best combination plates and the wine that pairs with it. This time, the visit was about the full experience and not only the food. My entire party felt very comfortable and enjoyed the ambience and the desert she recommended. Ms. Rola was absolutely perfect and welcoming. My entire group left feeling great and asked that we go back soon. We have repeated visits since and Rola's service remains as great as our first. I was in the area for work and needed a quick lunch. Found X20 while cruising because of the patio during COVID and the lunch special. It's a sit-down with server large patio restaurant. The restaurant was open and table spacing enabled social distancing. I ordered the chicken special and a soda. The portions were large with chicken, rice and side salad. It came with pita bread. The food was really good. Server was wearing a mask and very friendly. No worries about safety. If anything, I took off my mask to eat and drink so I put her more at risk. My only issue is a couple tables away got a hookah smoker so that odor was starting up and I'm not into that. If I'd known, I'm not sure I would have gone here. I've been here before when it was the Mediterranean Garden Grill and I've been to the X2O in Glendora before as well. So this was my first time at this location as "Cafe X2O". Our server tells us that they've only been open a couple months and they did some remodeling inside. It looks more sleek now (no more fake ivy or grapes hanging). We arrive around 11:40AM and were done with lunch close to 1:00PM. So service was a little slow. There were a couple people already there smoking Hookah. They had sandwiches (in pita) for around $9 which came with a side of hummus. We ordered 3 iced teas, diet coke, Cheese Boreg, Chicken Kebab Plate, Chicken Kebab Sandwich, Beef Kebab Sandwich, Beef Shawerma Sandwich, Chocolate Gelato and Espresso Gelato Overall, the meat was nicely seasoned and the tomato and onion was grilled. The portion was okay for $9.00, but would have been nice if it came with a small salad or something. My friend got a side of Tabbouleh (Lebanese Parsley Salad) instead of hummus, but it tasted really off. A few of us tasted it and it did taste funny like if the olive oil was old or something. The gelato was $6.00 each for two small scoops which is a total rip off to me. I used to go to the X2O in Glendora all the time just for gelato and could get a large cup with 3 scoops for $4 and some change. The garlic fries were delicious The service: My friend and I got here around 6:30p on a Friday night. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant besides us. The service was really slow. We asked for more water and napkins and our waiter forgot about it. We had to flag down another employee to get it for us. I don't think our waiter was very attentive. Overall, I would not come back bc I didn't like the fact that the garlic sauce was extra 1$. I get them for free at the hummus factory! And extras are free too! Went to this place Saturday for a bite to eat. Had the rack of lamb plate and my girlfriend had the tri tip plate. The service was impeccable. Role was our server and she was very attentive and made sure all are needs were fulfilled in a timely manner. We have been there several times and always left happy. We will most certainly be back.
