Cafe Yumm in general is a really good semi fast food chain to buy a "healthy" wrap or bowl. But this particular location does not serve the breakfast wrap which is by far my favorite thing on their menu. As a result I am always a bit disappointed when I come here and I usually just settle for the original. As many people have said before me, the special ingredient that makes this place shine is their sauce and luckily you can buy it by the bottle if you feel the need to take it home. You can't really go wrong with a fast food chain that offers health and 50% organic food. I've eaten here almost every day for 2 weeks and the staff is great. It gets a bit busy, so I would just try to go after 12:30 for lunch. Otherwise, the food is great. Great flavors. Definitely have to remember to ask for more sauce. I like to have lots of flavor or at least not have dry or flavor lacking food when it comes to no meat/vegetarian options. I was a vegetarian for 12 yrs, and if I was now it would still need a little more sauce then what is provided with the regular dish (i like lots of sauce or enough to cover everything on my plate if it is meant to go on it). I have no idea what it is about this place but the food is always good, especially a hot bowl on a cold day. I love the different bowls and prefer them without the tofu or chicken instead I sometimes spend a little extra and get a giant cookie. The cookies are sinfully good and the perfect size to split. One of the things that makes Cafe Yumm so unique is its mix of eastern and western food giving it a very satisfying feel. Cafe Yumm is my absolute favorite restaurant on Earth! When I first discovered it in Eugene, I fell in LOVE with their succulent yumm sauce and healthy/filling yumm bowls. This was my first visit to Cafe Yumm! I was not at all impressed. I asked the very young looking cashier about the options and he did explain everything with detail so I was looking forward to my "large" hot and jazzy bowl with chicken. I believe it was over priced for the average sized bowl with bland ingredients put together on a bed of rice and odd flavored sauce. This was a dish I could have prepared better myself at home. This place was recommended to us by a nutritionist to be healthy but after trying it, it's pretty gross and we won't be returning. I got the teriyaki bento and the chicken was grossly overcooked and I couldn't eat it. It also was one skewer of 3 pieces of chicken on a bed of rice for $8. Not sure what people really like about this place. Perhaps I need to give them another try. Rice, cheese and tomatoes in a bowl with a bit of their own curry-like sauce. It's like something I would have made at home when out of groceries. Some of the other dishes were less than satisfactory too. The first time around I really loved this place and thought it was amazing. I wasn't from the area so when I got back home I looked up how to make the sauce at home and it turned out really good. However, when we moved up here I wanted to go back because I remembered that the BBQ tofu was really good when we had it. However, the 2nd time was very disappointing. The BBQ tofu was really dried out and super chewy. I had a basic bowl as well that was only mildly impressive, the tofu in this was dried out as well. The prices are also crazy expensive for what you get. I am at least thankful that the yumm sauce exists so that I have a recipe and can now make it at home instead. read more

I love Cafe Yumm sauce but I would not recommend going to this location. More than once they had failed to get out to go order correct (did not add chicken when we paid extra for it or substitute with brown rice). They give VERY little yumm sauce in their bowls. My husband and I decided to dine in to see if it would be different. They did add the chicken but again very little sauce for the bowl. My husband was frustrated because the brown rice was pretty dry so went back to the register to ask for more yumm sauce. The girl with curly hair completely ignored him waiting off the side of the register and continued to help new customers. It was quite rude to watch. It took a few minutes before a guy who worked on the far end register asked my husband what he needed (which was extra yumm sauce). I don't recommend coming to this location and you're probably better off buying the yumm sauce and making your own bowl at home. Then you won't have to deal with a CUSTOMER SERVICE person ignoring you. read more

Im getting the feeling their trying to cut corners with their product. Their yum yum sauce is getting watered down. When I first started using their sause it was creamy and I would have to squeeze the bottle for the sauce to come out. 2 bottles ago I thought it was just the batch. This last bottle though again was watered down. Im losing hope this is the direction their headed with cutting corners to make a buck. In my opinion thats not a good way to run a business. I love eating at cafe yumm because of its simple, filling food, but I always feel like I could make it at home (but I didn't which is why I'm eating out). I usually go for the souper bowl with the zucchini stew (at least the stew is something I wouldn't have at home). The price usually convinces me to order a smaller bowl than I would normally, which is probably a good thing, as I'm still full at the end of the meal. The boyfriend always adds chicken to his, but it doesn't seem worth it to me for $2, especially if the bowl has beans in it already. I was disappointed with the skewers and bentos. It's one skewer on a big bed of rice, just sort of plopped on there. The slaw is ok, but it would be better if there were more vegetables to compliment that giant mound of rice. The skewers themselves are so-so. It's been a while since I've tried them but I wouldn't order any of them again (tried all three: tempeh, tofu, and chicken). Stick with a Yumm bowl or the soups. read more

I took his invitation and got a GREAT opportunity to explain what i saw, and what it seemed like to me (like my order just fell through the cracks) but after a great discussion with Aaron, i can say, while a mistake was made, Cafe Yumm DOES appreciate it's customers and takes complaints seriously. I thought I'd give Cafe Yumm a try and it's the first time I've ever thrown away a lunch after eating just a few bites. I got the edamame bowl and from the menu it looked like I would like all of the ingredients, but I really, really dislike the Yumm sauce. The Nori also tasted exactly like what you'd expect it to taste like..salty seaweed...yuck!!! Okay, it may just be me.
