We came to Santa Fe for a few days of our NM vacation and after searching for restaurants that were open (most were closed due to it being a Monday) we ate here. The service was great (friendly waiter), the food didn't take long, and the atmosphere is really nice. Sadly, however, the Chicken Marsala was very disappointing. My husband commented that it seemed like a TV dinner that they didn't even attempt to disguise. The chicken had a grey goopy film over the top (posing as a gravy) and the potatoes had to be instant. We laughed and ate it - we aren't the types to complain. Eating out is a gamble and we understand that risk. But after realizing how overpriced this place is, we decided to post a review. Stick to a few things that you can actually cook well and stop the frozen food shenanigans, please. read more

The patio is beautiful with trees and the sound of running water from a fountain. The food was very very good. The ají was authentic and quite tasty; it accented the grilled steak well. The alfajorcitos are light and have a generous amount of dulce de leche; they are just delightful! Sad to say that on our visit the service was very poor. I won't go into the list of things that were not brought out without our asking and then delayed in being served, but there were several. Service is important and it was lacking today. read more

This is a fun, centrally located cafe with tasty Argentinian food. I had a tortilla de papas which came with truffle butter and salad- super delicious!! This is a great place to meet up with friends, work on your laptop for the afternoon or have a business meeting. Will definitely be back. We popped in here for breakfast on our drive through Santa Fe. We got the Gaucho Style breakfast - eggs, toast, asada, served with Chile oil. They served us a complimentary carafe of house made lemonade that was TO DIE FOR. They have great coffee options as well. I ordered the Dulce de Leche latte (their specialty). They had originally forgotten my drink order so when I went back up to ask for it, the owner gave me complimentary dulce de leche shortbread cookies as well. I'd go back just for the cookies! The dulce de leche latte wasn't overbearingly sweet; it was perfect. The service here was warm and welcoming and the owner really cares about hospitality. This is a great spot for a coffee date, or to take clients in for breakfast or lunch. It's classy, the decor is great, and the food is yummy. I'll make it a point to stop here the next time I'm in Santa Fe. read more

Love this place. Complex is underdevelopment and is sure to be hopping in the next year or so. We stayed at the Airbnb and walked a few doors down to this place. What a treat! We ordered the salmon and the special sandwich. It was a 50 minute wait for food. The salmon was served skin side up with the skin on. Yuck. The arugula salad was terrible with dehydrated chickpeas. Yuck again. My husband's sandwich was tasty but tiny. The presentation was pretty bad and the portions were irregularly small. We had to go to Wendy's after because we were still hungry. 59 bucks later-I'm underwhelmed. The staff was nice but didn't check back in regularly. I get there's a pandemic and service is an issue but is food quality and portion also an issue? We won't darken their door again. read more

I was intrigued when I read about Cafecito; restaurants specializing in empanadas are not yet common in our part of the Colorado front range. The photos of the restaurant also portrayed the place as modern and interesting. We stopped by on a Sunday morning in early July for breakfast. Street parking was convenient. We were soon seated on the patio streetside under an umbrella designed to be moved to interdict the hot sun. The restaurant was pleasantly open-plan, with lots of glass, lots of light, and a clean, modern esthetic. We ordered a variety of empanadas: carne, humita, tuna, santa fe, lehmeyun, and membrillo. These were tasty and filling, though lacked 'something' to make them truly satisfying. Our reference is the wonderful empanada menu at Rincon Argentino in Boulder, CO, which serves a wide variety of flavorful, warming, fulfilling empanadas. Cafecito is very pleasant, and a nice respite from the packed restaurants in central Santa Fe. Their empanadas are worth the trip. read more
