5/23/26 I'm so behind yikes ! Let's get into it with this review . In town with Family and Had a table of 9 . Service was excellent and we came in kind of last min and at a busy time but they were able to seat us within 5 min. We had kids at 1 table and adults right next to them, it was great . Brooke W. Was our waitress and was Excellent taking care of us all and kiddos . She was on top of everything and fast . I had The fish and chips and was delicious. We also had some tater tots , cousin had chicken and waffles , and forgot who had Ham and cheese with tomato soup. Tried a little of everything and was excellent. This was my 2nd time here and really enjoy the variety of food and service is excellent. Will definitely be back again . Enjoy !!!!

We enjoyed our breakfast, mimosas taste delicious. Very cozy place and we didn't need to wait long.

I was looking for a place for a team dinner of 10 and this so happened to be right in front of our hotel. We did not have reservations but we were able to be seated rather quickly. Our server was pleasant and answered all of the questions we had about the menu. Grilled cheese and tomato soup- 3/5 the tomato soup in the pictures looked a lot creamier than the one I received, mine was a bit watery. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich saved the meal. Overall my meal was ok. I liked that it came with either a side salad or fries and of course I opted for the fries. Overall, if you are visiting Sac this is a solid place to go for a decent meal

I have been here a few times and the food seems to disappoint a little. I enjoyed the tuna small bite and the French toast was pretty good. I really LOVED their drink menu. I had the seasonal pear beverage and was shocked at how good and refreshing it was. The front staff was a little snappy and wasn't concerned about being cordial or kind, but was only concerned if we had reservations. We tried to tell them that our party was there alread, and she said "oh someone is here? Do they have reservations " ... some proper restaurant etiquette would be nice. "Hi how are you" etc... The espresso martini wasn't the greatest, but I would def come back for bottomless mimosas . Already fed.

Perfect place to eat pre/post Convention Center or Music Circus Broadway Series Show as they give automatic discounts! The Food was phenomenal. We were able to share dishes without surcharge and our birthday girl received a complimentary cooking icecream sandwich and a lot candle! Service was excellent and seats were comfortable and noise level was low so we coy enjoy our group conversations. Highly recommend!

Alot of us were in town for a convention and so this place was very close. It seemed as though many of our attendees ended up eating here. I came in with a large group and considering how many of us there were, it was a rather seamless effort. The menu had many items and I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the grilled cheese...no ham...and the tomato soup. Portions were large and so I only ate half of the sandwich. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. Will have to come back and try something else.

Conveniently located near the Capitol, this place has a great ambiance. It's a good spot for large parties or small groups. I've been here a couple of times and enjoyed both visits. The first time, I tried the shrimp scampi, and the second time, I tried their grilled ham and cheese with tomato soup - both were delicious and big portions! This spot features an industrial modern decor and good music playing in the background. They also have a full bar and an outdoor patio seating area. Another cool thing is the bathroom--the sink area is see-through and a must-see!

Had a delicious brunch on a Sunday at 11:00am and was surprised at how quick the service was and how quickly our food came out! Our waiter was very nice and everything tasted very fresh! The side of potatoes we ordered was perfectly crispy and we had a wonderful time sitting on the patio.

Cafeteria 15L was a pleasant surprise. We came in with no real expectations, maybe because the name reminded me of school lunches. The food, however, was executed extremely well. Nothing overly fancy, just thoughtfully prepared dishes done right.

Great brunch, great elevated food, nice waiter, clean friendly; try street parking, in the lot its $25 but all day. Yes, I'd come back:)

Went into Cafeteria 15L last Saturday night with my wife and some family. Ryan our waiter was very friendly and did a great job taking care of our table. Our food was Great!! The atmosphere was really nice and the place felt in with the times. Being able to see the opposite sex in the bathroom cause on the sink area only glass separates you which was kinda weird.

We decided for our last night all together we would pick a highly rated one for a special meal. Magpie Cafe right in downtown fit the bill and we were thoroughly impressed by everything. We ordered just about every special plus many other dishes, some multiple, from appetizers through to desserts. It's in a beautiful area of the city, open to the street and green park. We opted to sit outside as it was a lovely evening. The beer menu had some regional favorites, all small and well chosen. For food we went all out, and I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Everything was so colorful and presented beautifully. Highlights were the pickles, fried asparagus, anchovies, and croquettes. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about our dishes, she added to the experience. If you're in the area, this restaurant is worth a stop. They even have a cafe in the airport!

The drink contained gin, strawberry syrup, and fresh lemon basil. It was light and refreshing and the perfect spring summer drink. Then we had the baby eggplant which was marinated in a soy glaze. It also had some sort of peanut sauce base. This was a delightful bite. Both of us were very impressed. The presentation was gorgeous. Clearly still on my eggplant craze. One of the reasons we went to Magpie was for the trout dip. In a shocking turn of events, they didn't have it. I think it was an old menu. Maybe their winter menu. This was a bummer. Instead, they had a salmon dip. We got that, and I wish it was more flavorful/smokey. Normally, I'm not a smokey seasoning person, but I think it goes nicely with fish. The chips though were really good. I love a kettle chip. I thought they would be thicker, since the dip was thicker. I'm glad they served the dip with the spoon. We also had the stone fruit salad. I was shocked it didn't come with a cheese, but after I tasted it, the creamy yogurt successfully filled that void. Once again, the plating was gorgeous. I think the peaches were good, but I can tell that later in the summer, these peaches will be even more delectable. I think the pistachios were an excellent choice to this salad. For my main course, I had the painted hills flat iron steak with a Chimichurri sauce and crispy smashed potatoes. The steak was well cooked, and with the seasoning of the chimichurri, it was a delightful bite. Sam had the gnocchi with pesto and fresh tomatoes. The gnocchi was fluffy. Both she and I thought that the pesto was good, but we both wish that we wish there was more of it. I love pesto though, so I am always going to think that. It came in dollops, rather than mixed in, so I think that was part of the problem. We also had to get dessert. I had the ice cream sandwiches. They were made with lemon thyme shortbread cookies with vanilla Guenther's Ice Cream. I wish it was a stronger vanilla taste or a flavored ice cream. The cookies were too good though. Sam had the lavender panna cotta. Normally I am not a huge panna cotta fan, but this one was delicious. It had such a strong lavender taste, in a good way. It kind of tasted like I was eating lotion because of the thickness of the panna cotta with the lavender flavor.

Ella is an upscale restaurant with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. I felt perfectly at ease wearing shorts and a polo, which speaks to how approachable the space is despite its refined reputation. Although I didn't order an appetizer, the staff surprised me with a complimentary cup of soup. It was delicious--rich, balanced, and a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the meal. For my main dish, I ordered the Crispy Fried Half Chicken with roasted garlic. It arrived with a small bottle of their house‑made hot sauce and was served in generous cuts: two drumsticks, a wing, and a breast (or thigh). The batter was beautifully flaky without falling apart, and the chicken itself was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The crisp coating practically melted before giving way to a light crunch, and the hot sauce added just the right amount of subtle heat. I enjoyed it so much that I found myself wishing for a dim corner where I could privately eat every piece straight off the bone with my hands. I opted for the Kumquat Kiss, which was delicious and different. Besides that Old Fashioned, the Hash Brown Lyonnaise really stole the show. Pillow-light hash brown sticks (how did they do that?!) with a scrumptious onion dip with crispy shallots and finely chopped chives. This is one of my top happy hour dishes of the year. Just wow! Try it yourself and tell me you don't agree. The Grilled Prawns missed the mark for me a bit, although the husband liked them. Tasty, but just not as much of a star as the other dish. Only suggestion is to have a happy hour menu for bites as well as beverages, as is found on the website. This would help avoid the need for staff to present a dinner menu (which admittedly, I was confused by) and acknowledge that the first course options are all available but at no happy hour discount (which felt a bit awkward for all involved).
