It was pretty... But that's about it. I'm really bummed about the experience my family and I had here on Mother's Day. Giving 2 stars because there was a single waiter who although was almost in tears, kept a smile on his face and was extremely pleasant. I'll start with arrival... got there around 1:40pm and added to a waitlist that per the young lady at front would be 1.5hrs which I was ok with. Around an hour into our wait in the car in the below parking area we went to to check on status only to see the place was emptying and according to the person at check in (not same girl) they texted us over 30mins ago after expressing no messages came in and seeing another family saying the exact same thing behind me she decided to get the manager... after waiting a few minutes she came back with a bit of an attitude and said "well is your whole party here right now" I said yes, and quickly scooped them out of the car. Upon being seated at a table in the back and waiting another hour 15-20mins with just menus a waitress from a different area approached and asked if we had ordered once we said no, she quickly took ALL orders at once and said they're closing. Drinks came out fairly quickly and food was another 15mins or so. When food arrived it was cold l, sloppy and although 3 of us ordered the same thing we were each missing ingredients. We didn't make a fuse as we understood the pressure of the day. But I'll tell you, if you aren't equipped to service crowds of this nature, you should absolutely scale back the number of guest you allow and NOT accept both reservations and walk ins. Won't be back, should've gone next door to Chevys, at least I would have known what to expect. read more

I was recently at Chevy's on the river and I had a very nasty visit; although, Chevys was great! A man exposed himself to my girlfriend while she was sitting on the grass in the lower parking! I walk up to the man and ask what's up, he leaves with nothing to say obviously ashamed of what he's done! The so called disgrace of a man try's to block my camera and head back up to the restaurant where he worked at ( ROOSTERS) , which I followed him too. If roosters doesn't take proper measures to terminate this employee I will press charges, and take proper action with the BBB! This is the man right here! We were told that the wait for brunch on Sunday was about 20-30 minutes but it really took less than 10. We sat outside and the patio was cute and clean but could have used some insect repellant. Services was extremely slow. After about 10-15 minutes with no water and no service, someone asked if we had been helped yet and took our drink and food order. Then she let us know that the kitchen was running behind and food would take about 35-40 minutes to come out. I didn't time it but after about 30/40 minutes the waitress came back to say it would take another 10-15 minutes. She asked if I wanted a refill and I declined but then I changed my mind after about 5 minutes and we it took about another 5 minutes to flag down a server to ask for another drink. They quickly brought a new one out and apologized for the wait, which was appreciated. After getting the food service did pickup and the checkout process was not terrible. We got the pancake combo plate with eggs, hashbrowns and bacon and everything was solid. We also got the chicken and waffles which was also good. The strawberry compote was great. The California mimosa was great and the mint blackberry mimosa was good. We would go again but with some bug spay before and expect a long wait. Don't go starving or in a rush. read more

It's on Garden highway so the cars do pass by quickly and turning in can be a pain sometimes. The parking lot is large but always full. The spots are also very tiny and can be difficult to get out at times. The service was great. I came in a large party and our server helped us with ease. Our food came within 10 minutes and I had no complaints. The hamburger was juicy and tasted fresh. The fries could have used a bit more love in my opinion. The prices are about average with a restaurant. Each dish is about $20 while drinks are about $9. They have some really cool looking margaritas here. Expect around $40 for a breakfast for two. Fun time watching the FIFA World Cup Games. We sat at the bar upstairs and had great service. The atmosphere was great lots of young and mature people. They had a huge screen by one of the walls. I had the nachos and tacos which were delicious. Bring a fan if you can it did get a little warm maybe because of the excitement and body heat when cheering on our team. They had a Banda play right after and that was fun but loud so be prepared. Let me start off by saying this is a Mexican family owned restaurant with an amazing selection on the menu. I ordered the crabcakes Benedict with country potatoes on the side and it was so good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She answered all my questions with no hesitation. They also provide live music, well in this case it was one man with a guitar who serenaded me in Spanish with my own choice of selection, which was wonderful. Not much of a drinker, but they do have an amazing menu for mimosas and the fact that it's on the river and you get to sit out on the patio and watch the water and the boat and enjoy the beautiful air is superb. I will definitely be coming back and trying something new on the menu I don't doubt that it will also taste amazing. read more

I came here with some coworkers to celebrate a birthday lunch. The location by the river is nice, but unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best and they nickel-and-dime you. I ordered a rooster burger and asked for it to be cooked medium rare, knowing they would probably over cook it a bit. When I received it, the burger was overcooked to medium well or well done and lacked flavor. I asked for some extra aioli sauce to add a bit of taste, along with some ranch for my fries. When I received the bill, I was surprised to see that they charged $1.50 extra for each condiment! I don't like being nickel-and-dimed and overcharged for basic sauces without any notice. If the restaurant plans to charge for items like that, their servers need to inform customers in advance. No one in my party enjoyed their food. The chilaquiles was AMAZING and the portions were **chefs kiss** My partner got the chilaquiles and I was so jealous because I got the steak and eggs and it wasn't as amazing. Came here with some work friends and we had an absolutely amazing time!! As soon as you walk in staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. Parking is plenty although it does tend to get busy there is a lot of room as well. We got to try out some amazing food my personal favorite were the tacos and Mimosa flights!! The tacos had this Smokey flavor they were perfectly cooked with fresh cilantro on top. I ordered the Roosters Chilaquiles, and they came out cold, with no flavor. The meat looked very pale and like it had a disease ,My husband ordered the Chilaquiles Norteños with chorizo and asada, and both meats were undercooked--raw in the center, with visible blood. When we brought this to the bartender /servers attention, he acknowledged it wasn't right. At that point, we decided to just close out our tab this is unacceptable While waiting, we had drinks (mezcal with pineapple, a michelada with Modelo Negra, and a Modelo Negra), which totaled $41. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't make up for the overall experience. We left without eating our meals, and I regret not taking photos. Overall, I would not return. They won't split or separate the tab, so someone in your group has to have a card to hold several hundred dollars of charges (ours was close to $400). The bad: the food was not good. This was.a Saturday evening and they couldn't get it together. The meals came out sporadically, partial meal here, forgotten parts there. I ordered pulled pork sliders, fries, and asparagus. What I got was 2 very over cooked, dry cheeseburger sliders and 2 woody asparagus spears ($9.00). The kitchen said they didn't have the meat to make the pulled pork sliders. I tried to eat the asparagus but both pieces were too stringy to chew. Well, I did eat the 2 tops, but $9.00 for 2 asparagus tops?? My dinner was fries. They were good. My friends said they'd wait for me to order something else. The waiter said they could make me a pulled pork burger and I said they don't have pulled pork. He said, well not for sliders but they have it for a sandwich. What? I just don't get that! I said nah, I'll go back to my room and eat an eat an Uncrustable (pb&j). I chipped in my $9 for the 2 asparagus tops, my friends all Zelled the card holder their portions and we left shaking our heads. I have been to Roosters on the River for Breakfast and they serve a great breakfast, but i would stick with going to their breakfast and I don't think I will go back for dinner. The location is probably the best thing it has going. Being right on the river gives it a nice atmosphere, especially if you can snag a seat near the windows. It's the kind of place that feels like it should be amazing on a warm summer evening. Inside, the vibe is casual and comfortable. The menu is pretty standard Mexican fair with some burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a handful of entrees thrown in the mix. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with fries. The philly cheesesteak was disappointing, the sandwich was dry with what looked like old bread and was not very good at all. The Mole enchiladas were also not that great and would not order again. The restaurant was fairly empty but yet the service was lacking, we were a party of 8 and all of our food came out at different times ( like 10 min apart) , server also didn't come to refill our drinks I had to get the servers attention to get a drink refill. My husband and I stopped by for brunch during our river walk with our dog and were seated outside on the deck. It was a nice view over the water and the spacious deck has fire pits for cold days. The waitstaff were friendly and brought out a water bowl for our dog. We shared the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and half red half green sauce, and also the mimosa flight. The chilaquiles and scrambled eggs were good, but the rice and beans it came with were just okay. That sad thing was not only small, but it had BARELY ANY Nutella. So the crepe was naked on the inside with only the fruit and they did a little pass of Nutella outside. This review is for AYCE Enchilada Wednesday $21.99. Parking can be tedious but the venue itself is split level with water views and duel bars. There are 12 enchiladas, refried beans and three types of rice. The servers handle everything so there is no mess. The servers behind the enchiladas also have sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced white onions and queso fresco. I honestly thought I would be able to try all 12 enchiladas but I only got to half ! If you're in a party have each person get 3 different enchiladas then cut them up so everyone can taste everything and go back for their faves. Mimosas are $8. And they have a multitude of flavors.
