Caffe Calabria roasts its own coffee. The coffee is excellent. I had the Viennese which contains espresso, steamed milk, honey and cinnamon. My husband ordered a salsiccia pizza which is made napoletan style with a thin crust in their authentic Italian oven. They also have a good selection of beers and cider. The service is quick. The place is casual.

5 stars for the bicerin, service, and ambiance. I would definitely come back for the bicerin again and try their food or other espresso drinks. Very cool spot, I'll be back for sure.

Coffee is on point, no complaints there. Service was great and easy .The place was huge and they even service alcohol and pizzas. The only complaint was the pistachio croissant . It wasn't flaky and soft like it should be. It was rather hard and kind of burnt which leads be to believe that the croissants are not fresh and maybe a few days old (see pic). However I will be back to try the other coffee flavors and food items

Pizza was still good this time although we noticed more oil pools on the pizza this time around. We tried their carbonara pizza and have to say that we prefer their tomato sauce pizzas much more because the acid gives the pizza more interesting flavor; carbonara pizza felt "flat" and one dimensional in terms of flavor. Their pizzas are $13 all day Wednesday and Thursday, so if you are thinking about trying this place out, I suggest coming for this promotion.

Wifey has been wanting to try their Coffee here. Bought her here and let her order for me too. We just had a Raspberry scone, affogato and Cafe Latte to try. Everything was great and the Cafe latte was amazingly good. Staff are all friendly, cute decor near the Bathroom, lots of Tea Cups in the hallway towards the bathroom. Wifey texted me a photo of a women's bathroom that even inside there's a wall of Tea/coffee cups as a display. Side street parking and more in the back of this Cafe.

I've been to this place a few times and really love their coffee. The latte is consistently delicious, and the staff is always friendly. The menu looks great, though I haven't tried the food yet. They have several outdoor tables with a chill, low-key vibe, along with some indoor seating. It's definitely one of my go-to spots for working and studying.

Super chill spot with great service. They have really good specials during the middle of the week. I was surprised that it wasn't packed when we came. Negronis were made well. $8 Carbonara pizza hit the spot. $5 off Would order both of these again. Cute vibes for any type of social gathering or just venturing out solo.

Came in on a Friday night and the ambience was chill with good vibes. Ordered a magherita DOC pizza and killed it by myself. Nice light crust and toppings. Cheese was the best part. Would order again.

Beautiful classic cappuccinos. Mid to louder vibes... On the busier side. Outdoor and Indoor seating available. Bar and table seating. Good service, a bit distracted but overall ok. Friendly and kind. Ive have their food in the past and dont remember it being particularly special. Might have to try their pizza again and update my review.

Unfortunately this place has sold and the new owners decided not to keep the week day happy hours and they are gone, all the prices have been raised and changed everything about this place. What used to be a very busy local favorite is now collapsing and dead. The pizza has gone down hill with cheap ingredients. The cheese didn't even melt on the pizza that we ordered. Won't be coming back

I'm embarrassed... I guzzled my coffee but they do have a nice presentation!

If you're a coffee person, then you must try the coffee from here! It's a favorite and I always order the hot café latte with one brown sugar mixed with cinnamon. Sooooo good

This place used to make the best pizzas in San Diego. Unfortunately under new ownership, it went from a 10/10 to a 5/10. Pizza dough and toppings have completely changed. It is basically just slightly better than Blaze Pizza now. But i'm not paying these prices for something of this quality. I won't be returning, Compare recent pictures to the ones from last year, and you will see the difference. Former Calabria, you will be missed.

Chicken Marsala on a bed of linguini.

My wife and I ended our trip to Albany at Caffe Calabria after a rough experience elsewhere, and it was exactly what we needed. We have been back several times and it never disappoints. The dining room is warm and inviting, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and there's comfortable spacing between tables. We started with the fried calamari - the calamari can be enough for two - and meatballs. For those of you dining in a group of four, take notice, sadly, only three meat balls are served as an appetizer. As entrees my wife had the chicken marsala served over linguini, and I stuck with my go-to, the veal cutlet parmigiana: a breaded veal cutlet covered in marinara and melted cheese on a bed of mal tagliati. Both were excellent. Our pasta was al dente and the cutlets were delectable. We finished with a generous slice of carrot cake and cappuccinos. A quick tip: make a reservation and try to arrive early -- parking can be a challenge. Highly recommended. If you like this review or the pictures, please do not forget to post a comment.

Do you have outdoor seating as of August 2023? Thanks!

Do they heat up the sandwiches that are seen in their display?

Yes, our staff will ask if you want it toasted on our panini maker.

Do you/they serve Calabrian style pizza? Calabrian style pizza tends to be thinner and crispier than Neapolitan style which tends to be softer with high crust. From the pics posted, theirs look closer to Neapolitan style. So curious

I'm not a pizza expert but I've had their pizza several times and in my experience it is very thin crust such that one can pretty much eat a full pie on one's own and not feel all filled up with bready crust. It's very similar to pizza I had in Rome…

Is there a pizza made with organic, vegan and gluten-free ingredients?

They do have organic wonderful salads. No vegan pizza options yet but I heard some were coming soon! This place is so good!

Are your pastries house made? If not, where do you source them?

The staff told me these yummy pastries come from Bread & Cie. They use only the freshest ingredients. I really enjoy the croissant!

Has anyone had their event hosted here?

Yes they allow hosted events. Here's the direct number to call; 619-683-7787. Good luck and happy…

Anyone know how to get a phone number that works?

    (619) 683-7787

    Are gift cards available here?

They do sell gift cards now!

    Are they dog friendly?

Yes, dogs are allowed. They have 3 patios! The upstairs patio allows dogs.

Does this business take Apple Pay?

    They have Apple Pay! 😀

What really keeps me coming back are the seasonal transformations. They go all out with the decorations, and during Christmas the entire restaurant feels completely transformed. It's one of the best holiday dining experiences in San Diego. The seasonal touches don't stop at the décor either. I like that they regularly introduce limited-time food and cocktail specials, so there's usually something new to try while still keeping some of their popular favorites on the menu. Everything I've ordered over multiple visits has been well prepared, and I haven't had a bad meal yet. It's definitely on the pricier side, so I see it more as a place for celebrations, date nights, or when you want a unique dining experience rather than an everyday meal. Between the food, drinks, and the incredible decorations, it feels worth it for those occasions. One piece of advice: make a reservation. This place is popular, especially during the holidays and other seasonal events, and tables fill up quickly.

We happened upon this place for happy hour, which is a great deal. The old fashioned was really good and they have a decent wine list, both at great prices. August 2026. Very disappointed and underwhelmed…read more The food was ok. Steak and fries good. The chicken was very dry - even the dark meat. The bigger issue was the service. I don't think it ever works to have multiple people serve the table. There's no continuity and stuff gets forgotten. We had multiple orders not logged and therefore not delivered. We ordered both the Brussels and the ahi crackers for appetizers. The Brussels came 5 minutes later. Perfect timing. But the ahi never showed. I don't think it was until we mentioned it. It had really been a long time so we asked to cancel. But they lets us know the entrees were delayed and told us they'd comp the ahi. All right, whatever, we had them. They were still on the bill but I didn't say anything. Also midway through I asked for a second beer but it never came. I wanted the Mexican lager and the server even asked if I wanted a line. But I think this order directly preceded the discussion about the ahi so it must have been forgotten. My final gripe: I really don't like places that bring entrees staggered, or when they're ready. The steak came and the chicken followed about 5 minutes later. We're a party of 2. It's not like a 6 top and the poor server needs to make 2 trips. All in all this place isn't really for us so we won't be coming back anytime soon.

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating.
