Ate there last night, we ordered the lentil soup and it was awful it had no taste. The fettuccini fungi were also not good, so we asked our really nice waitress to exchange both dishes for chicken in a cognac sauce and a different waiter came out and said the owner isn't making that for us and gave us our check. I visited Cafe Andiamo at the suggestion of a friend who loves this place. I was admittedly a bit skeptical given the lackluster reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. We started with oysters Rockefeller, Tuscan bread with homemade mozzarella and marinara sauce, and a duck prosciutto salad with fried goat cheese. The appetizers were fairly good. The salad and bread could've both benefited from some fresh ground pepper and the consensus was that the oysters were ok but certainly not the best that we've had. I ordered the Margarita pizza for my entree. The pizza was freshly made and it appeared piping hot to the table. The crust was soft, slightly chewy, and light. It was topped with an ample amount of diced tomatoes and fresh basil. All 8 slices were well covered with toppings. I also sampled the salmon pasta with a Gorgonzola cheese sauce. The salmon was a little salty but the sauce had a good, rich flavor. Service was actually very good. Perhaps it was because I dined with one of the restaurant's regular patrons but our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. She drew our attention to the specials, she offered solid recommendations, and she gave us ample time to review the large menu. If I had one complaint about her, it would be that she spent a lot of time managing drinks while we were sitting and waiting for our food ordered to be taken. Based off of this experience, I would return and I can only hope that the next visit will be as good as the first one. read more

Best Italian food I've had in Northern FL. The Chef made up a special layered chicken and eggplant parmigiana. I will have it again the next time. Excellent service! The waiter was very helpful communicating the dish to the Chef and was just as delighted in the outcome. Crowded on a Sunday night. Expect a 30 minute wait but it's worth it! read more

First of all the booth tables are way too close and we are all really skinny I feel sorry for heavy people or decent sized people. We started off with the veal meatballs in Calamari. These were OK and then my wife and a friend got the salad these were good. We had several pasta dishes that really weren't memorable and we're just average my daughter got the pizza which was just OK. The wonderful food was unfortunately overshadowed by the rude and unhelpful blonde woman at the hostess stand. She was very unwelcoming to our outdoor seating questions, and was especially opposed to us because some were under the drinking age. Ana was an amazing waitress and made us feel at home. How does this restaurant only have a 3 star average??? It's fantastic! I'm always on a quest for great Italian food. Went here with a group of friends during a golf tournament. Emily was our server. She was friendly and had a great personality. Even better, was the food. I got fettuccine bolognese with grilled chicken. Awesome. The food and service here is great. I highly recommend. Just wanted to post about a very disturbing experience my mom and I had at caffe andiamo today which ended with the owner saying to his (father?) that "they're no one" about my mother and I. We went in for lunch at 11:10 so it empty other than another customer and the owner and an older man (I believe his dad) all sitting at the bar. While eating appetizers we heard the owner telling a staff member in the kitchen to clean something but in a very nasty and demanding tone. Then later on, one of the cooks was prepping our pizza and the owner went over and was completely rude and condescending to him and was saying "the f word" multiple times. All loudly and in front of us. My mom was extremely uncomfortable and asked to leave. We got our food boxed and the waitress, who was amazing, apologized profusely. Before we left I walked up and asked if he was the owner and he said yes. I said respectfully, "my mother and I just ate and the food and service was amazing. However, we are having to leave early as the rude way you speak to your employees has made us extremely uncomfortable. It's not ok to talk to people like that". He immediately became defensive and tried to say he was telling them how to do something. I said "I heard every word of what you said and I know you were trying to correct him but it's not ok to speak to people that way". The older man asked "what did he say that was rude?" In a very defensive way. I said "everything you said was condescending. We will not be back. Thank you and good bye". I walked away but my mother started saying to them that the owner was throwing f bombs in front of a 64 year old customer and it wasn't ok. The older male said "we've been here for 20 years without complaint." And the owner said to him "don't worry, they're no one" (in regard to my mother and I). My mom said back that we represent ponte vedra but to have an owner of a business tell a customer that "they are no one", that we are beneath them in some way is disgusting. Especially because we were not complaining about our service or the food. We were complaining about how he was speaking to his staff very loudly and swearing, especially in front of customers. Extremely slow service tonight. The restaurant was very busy, but after waiting nearly 30 minutes for our food and no update or check back from our server, I finally asked. She checked with the kitchen and said it would be about 10 more minutes, and that the cook was new and the pizza man went to the kitchen to help. The food finally arrived, and the sauces on the pasta were watery and the fettuccine under-cooked on 2 dishes. The spaghetti on the other was over-cooked. The server never came back to check how the food was, nor did the manager speak with any of the tables about slow service, etc. Even at the end of the meal, there was no apology for the length of wait for food. read more

The place was so over priced for nothing. Ordered a bowl of spaghetti and usually an Italian restaurant gives you a full serving. I had to ask if it was the side order and the waitress said it was entree size. I almost fell over! My friend also had a pasta dish and was $18 and got also what looked like a side portion. Also ordered capresse salad which was a total disgrace and price was even more of a joke. We also ordered muscles but told them to cancel! My first time there and never again. If I want an Italian meal will stick with Enza's! Both of us are not big eaters but I walked out of there hungry and went home and had something to eat. This place is a disgrace and if I could give a -10 I would. I never complain about restaurants but this place is a joke. Should have left when I saw hardly anyone in there at 7 pm on a Saturday night! I will never recommend and just had to write a review to warn you if you want to be over charged for pasta (with just sauce) this is the place to go. I haven't been here in about 10 years and the quality of food has gone downhill. The service was very good but the food lacks flavor. First the positives. The complimentary bread with balsamic and olive oil was good. I ordered the red snapper filet with a light cream sauce. It had no flavor and for the price of $25.00 a very stingy portion. It came with some mussels, clams and one shrimp. All items were over cooked and tasted like rubber. The side dish came with a mixture of carrots and squash with a potato croquet. The dish came out cold and the potatoes tasted like they were frozen and reheated. My friend ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was very greasy and one step above a frozen pizza. Very disappointing. I felt bad because I recommended this restaurant. My friend drove from Saint Augustine for a mediocre meal. I should have went with my first instinct and took her to Aqua Grill. Their food is solid and very consistent. It's really hard to find good restaurants in North East Florida. I'm checking this one off my list. read more

We went in to try out this restaurant in preparation for our rehearsal dinner. We were 4.5 months ahead of time, as both my fiance and I have worked in the service industry and understand the importance of preparation. Pleased with the decor, we asked our server, Brandon, to speak to the owner or manager on duty about renting the patio. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, so when the owner said "oh, well I'm to f*ing busy, give them my card", our table was able to hear every word of it. The busy proprietor proceeded to walk over the the bar and shoot the breeze with several other employees. They spoke about how American Italians act so differently in different regions and about the women's soccer qualifiers going on, all the while ensuring to liberally sprinkle in some impressively vulgar (primarily f-bombs) vocabulary. When one of the dishes was listed as a $15 entree and the bill read it as $24, I asked Brandon about it. He kindly informed me that substituting fresh pasta with gluten free was a $2 charge (which costs more than a whole box at the store, and most establishment s don't charge for) and that adding the 4oz of chicken was an additional $7. Upon further review, gluten free pasta is listed as "available upon request", and chicken was not listed at all. If I wanted to way over pay for food that came out of a can and a box, all the while being completely disregarded by an immature, unprofessional, and inappropriate manager, I would have found a biker bar and ordered nachos. read more

As a local, we love Caffe Andiamo. It's really, really good Italian food, wine and cocktails. They have a pizza oven in the middle of the dining and bar area and you do not feel one single bit of heat. Their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. Went here for Mother's Day and had a pleasant time until it was time to leave. We had an issue with the bill and instead of fixing it, our waitress got an attitude and said "she'll just pay for it" as she stormed off throwing a fit like a child. We asked for a manager, he was worse, and he happened to be the owner. After arguing with us, he walked to register and loudly says "Jesus F'ing Christ" loudly enough for us and the two tables that were there (should've known something was up with an empty restaurant on Mother's Day), makes sense now. Then proceeded to argue some more. This place is a JOKE! Do yourself a favor and try Nona Blue. Amazing service and food taste a lot better. Giving this 3 stars because while the food was good, the staff was not. We were a group of 7, all had drinks, ordered entrees and apps and had dessert. So it was a pretty good bill. We got there at 7:30, were seated at 8:00 and left by 9:30. The website says this place closes at 10. Our waitress acted like we were keeping her from something more important the entire time. She made snarky comments and rolled her eyes fairly frequently. While the food was great, her annoyance towards us was off putting. We were friendly and fairly easy going so I'm not sure why she was as negative towards us as she was but it was definitely off putting. read more

A call to the restaurant that promised a call back from the manager but never happened.
