"Kona Coffee" signs are frequent on this stretch of the highway, though quality may not be so common. This establishment really pleases with a substantial variety of drinks, pastries, and even savory items, and even better, the quality and flavors don't disappoint. Pastries are pretty to look at and made in house! Don't miss the biscotti, lilikoi anything, and for those chocolate lovers out there, the chocolate mousse puff thing. The sweetness was well balanced, a testament to the chef's skill. While the edibles and drinks were spot on, the service was a bit pinched. Morning rush, woke up in the ring side of the bed, not sure what happened, but a bit more of a smile and a Hawaii Island chill vibe would really have made this place complete. My favorite "Caffe" to stop in when I'm in the area. Beautifully decorated with lots of seating inside and outside with a view. Compared to what it was before (Orchid Isle Cafe), it's night and day! Every inch of this cafe is brand new and absolutely gorgeous. Everything in the bakery and on the menu is delicious! I've been there enough to say I've tried nearly everything! So excited to have such a fabulous new place for breakfast & lunch. They did an amazing job on the remodel and it's nothing at all like it was when Orchid cafe (which is a good thing) The menu is great and the bakery display case is the best I've seen in Kona, it was almost impossible to not order one of everything it really was. Decided on a few breakfast menu items as well as muffins and chocolate mousse for later. I was excited to try this little spot because between Captain Cook and Kona, there isn't much there. Modern and clean! They've got a nice little bathroom in the corner too which helps ;) I ordered a coffee and veggie sandwich. It was delicious and all handmade freshly on the spot. Also had a tuna panini, which was made with very flavorless tuna. The view is ok, not spectacular. Outdoor seating is not too comfortable. This place is fantastic. We got the veggie breakfast sandwich and a macadamia nut pastry. Both were awesome, and they also serve great Kona coffee. In addition, there is a great back porch on which you can enjoy your food (which is prepared quickly). This restaurant is located right on the highway. So, if you are heading south from waikoloa, hapuna, etc. for a day touring the southern part of the island this is a perfect place to stop for breakfast to break up the drive. One thing to note: despite what one reviewer said below, there is not much parking here. I think there were only 4 spaces out front. The other nearby spaces are technically reserved for other establishments (though, given the island chill, I doubt you'd get towed or anything). read more

I ordered the pumpkin spice chai tea, breakfast panini and blueberry scone. The blueberry scone was the best I have every had! It was super delicious and the blueberries tasted fresh and sweet. The staff all had super cute accents from another country. Their sweet demeanor and voices gave the place a good foreign vacation feel. The view was okay as telephone wires were unavoidable. This place is located in the Kealakekua area of Kona and is now one of my favorite places to go. As a local, I kept driving past this place as it is on the main highway, thinking it was just another coffee shop. But I've gone for their breakfast and it is delicious. It has a view that you wouldn't think it has a nice view in the back overlooking Kona Scenic. It's not crowded, yet quiet to relax or catch up on reading or doing work. read more

You guys are crazy for leaving the bad reviews. YES it may lack a little in the customer service side, BUT that doesn't take away from the awesome food, coffee, and view. We're here visiting from the Mainland and stayed at my in laws right up the street from here. We were headed to the Volcanoes when we decided to try this place. We are so glad we did. I had the breakfast panini and my wife had the veggie egger. Sorry no pics because we finished them so fast. Super tasty must try this place if your in the area. read more
