Picked up a single shot of espresso at this cafe since I needed a quick caffeine hit. A shot was a little over $4 which is a bit pricey, but it's good. Little Italy in San Diego is a must visit spot. Loads of Italian restaurants and delicacies to choose from. Caffe Italia was out pick for a light breakfast treat. It did not disappoint. It was a Sunday morning and there was a little bit of a wait but for me it was worth it. We didn't order anything fancy so I can't really speak to the food but the experience was nice and relaxing. Exactly what we were looking for. The prices are decent and the coffee drinks are good. We got a couple of pastries and those were delicious. Something tells me they don't make them there but either way, the my went perfect with the coffee drinks. They also offer gelato and blended gelato drinks. After dining in at one of the Restaurant in Little Italy, we were walking towards my Car I felt the cold Breeze and craved for something Hot to drink. We were about to go to one the restaurants with a Bakery inside when I remembered that there was a small CAFE around here called "CAFFE ITALIA". I Ordered: *CAFFE MOCHA *CAPPUCCINO MOUSSE When I ordered my Hot Caffe Mocha and Cappuccino mousse, I also asked for an extra cup of water 'coz I wasn't sure if their desserts here were overly sweet. I was getting ready to have a water next to it just in case it was way too sweet for me. The first one that I tried was the Cappuccino mousse and it was moist on the inside, and not too sweet. The outside has a Brownie texture. In fact, when I told my Son to get me a Cup cake, I didn't notice that it was a Cappuccino mousse, I just noticed it when I went inside to check what my son got for me. I thought it was just a Chocolate cup cake, but the Cappuccino Mousse was just okay. The CAFFE MOCHA that I ordered was  kind of way too bitter, I remembered that last time when I ordered my Hot caffe Mocha drink, I tasted more Mocha than the coffee. They have indoor and outdoor seating . And despite of the cold weather, we ended up choosing to sit down outdoors 'coz there was a small show going on accross the street at the plaza for us to see. Excellent place for coffee and breakfast. Both taste great. There are seats indoor and in the front and back. They allow dogs in. Parking can be difficult depending on the time of the day. You order in the front, wait for your drink on the side and get a number for the food which would be brought out to you from kitchen. This cute spot in Little Italy was well worth the short walk from downtown. The service was great and the cozy indoor seating area was just enough bistro feeling for me. My husband and I each enjoyed a coffee and a breakfast item. My latte was really really good, I was impressed. I loved my egg toast too. The lemony arugula gave it a nice zest to offset the rich yolk. This is the perfect little breakfast before brunch. It's a nice place to get the California toast with a nice latte to pair with it. There are seating options in doors and out. There's a lot of nice natural lighting. It's located in Little Italy and the greatest part about coming here early is there's so much free parking in the daytime. It's impossible to find parking at night so it's a nice refresher. The daytime is more chill and you can just walk around Little Italy and enjoy the ambience of it. The chai latte is so delicious. It's not too sweet nor bitter but just enough flavor. I ordered the capri toast but was hesitating. I usually don't like arugula but the arugula mixture with the lemon juice tasted lovely together and avocados is always welcomed on my toast. The staff is really friendly. Originally I was in the area looking for a coffee shop. But stumbled upon this place and saw they had blended gelato drinks so I had to get one. We ordered a regular Orange baba and Caffee Emmiline. Both very good, very refreshing. Not sure if this was a substantial enough breakfast but who cares Gelato for breakfast! There's a cute outdoor area with a little waterfall and plants on the side of the shop to sit around and enjoy your food and drinks. read more

Perfect coffee spot in little Italy. We were waiting for a seat at a restaurant near by and needed coffee to wake up. This place has good coffee. One of my favorite Ice blended location so far. The ice blended coffee was a perfect combination of sweetness and bitterness. I got caramel and I could taste coffee with a hint of caramel. My sister whose not a big coffee drinker loved the mocha. I wish I would have gotten the barista name who made my drink because I asked for whip cream and he went beyond and added drizzle to both the drinks. Made it even prettier! I love the aesthetic touch he added. We also got rugulach, my older sister couldn't wait to try them so she started to eat it before I even got to take a picture of it. We even came the day after when we got lunch in the area for the rugulach for my younger sister who saw me posted about it and started craving it. Food: If I was given my actual order, I think I might have enjoyed it more. I ordered 2 sandwiches, one with no spread and one with no onions. I got only 1 of my 2 sandwiches and it had both the spread AND the onions. Managed to get two sandwiches wrong with 1 sandwich! Bravo! I waited 25 minutes from the back of the line to when I got my single sandwich with 3 whole employees "working" (2 in the back just chitchatting away the whole time). Drinks: "Any non-dairy creamer" means whatever you have that comes from a nut or a bean. My stomach instantly knew the difference so anyone with a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance WATCH OUT!!! Service: Smiles are nice, service is better. If the person taking the orders was paying attention, I might have gotten 2 correct sandwiches instead 1 wrong sandwich. Review for the desserts, as we were really craving tiramisu and the other place we tried had run out Tiramisu: It was a bit more sour(?) and less sweet than I expected. My dad liked it though! Cappuccino mousse: Now this was actually a very pleasant surprise. I mostly chose this because it looked really cute, but it was a nice light texture and flavor! It was definitely sweeter than the tiramisu, but it suited my personal preferences a bit more. My friend and I decided to stop by Little Italy after he picked me up from the airport for a bite to eat. We happened upon Caffe Italia after walking around once we secured a nice parking spot. They had vegetarian options (as my friend is a vegetarian) and so we decided to give it a go. The avocado toast was actually really good! The avocado was fresh, and the balsamic added a nice note of flavor alongside the creaminess of the avocado. The panini was okay, I just wish the bread was slightly thinner. I love that this place is dog friendly. We need more dog friendly venues. I got the Little Italy toast-basically avocado toast, with fried prosciutto and a fried egg, and a regular medium size coffee. Total was nearly $30, $27 and some change to be exact. I asked the cashier if the white mocha is sweet. He said yes. The barista then handed me the mocha. I didn't taste the flavor in my mocha. I asked her to add white chocolate. She appeared irritated as she grabbed the syrup. She squirted a lot of syrup. I couldn't drink my mocha after. It was all syrup and it didn't even taste like white chocolate.
