Caffe Stellato is such a great spot for gelato! The gelato is thick, creamy and full of flavor. I got the Honey Lavender and it was so good. The shop itself is a cute deli/mini grocery store with a great selection of gelato flavors. The staff were friendly, and I was happy it wasn't busy when I visited. It's located in downtown Burlingame, which is a pretty busy area so parking can be a little tough! but the gelato is definitely worth it!

Have a craving for authentic Italian Gelato? Well, Cafe Stellato is the place to go to. This place brings you back to Italy. It offers many Italian drinks, delicious desserts and snacks. The ambiance is totally European. Service was good, however an extra helper would have helped with the small line. Cafe Stellato is located on Burlingame Ave along with many restaurants and shops. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking.

Cute gelato and sandwich deli spot! We came here after work on Friday around 7pm. It was packed with students. To order sandwiches, you have to go to the back counter and order there then go to the register to pay. It was a bit confusing when we got there but the employees were helpful. We ordered two sandwiches and gelato: Siciliano with no cheese (3/5): it was a good sandwich. There was a good amount of meat, very flavorful meat. The sandwich could have benefited from more balsamic vinegar and fresher bread. Stellato Special (3/5): decent sandwich Gelato (4/5): gelato was good, we got the pistachio flavor. It was interesting how sticky it was since they don't add air to the gelato. The sandwich guy (who also helped us at the gelato) wasn't fluent in English so we had a hard time asking what gelato flavors were dairy-free. He was a very nice guy though who helped us remake the Siciliano sandwich when he realized he accidentally put cheese in it the first time. Overall, adorable place. We would probably come back during less busy hours to try some of their other sandwiches and gelato flavors. They have a bunch of candy and pasta and ingredients for purchase as well.

Was craving a late sweet treat and came across this place! Arrived 20 minutes before closing and staff were friendly and welcoming. I was surprised that they had lychee flavored gelato so I went with this flavor. LITERALLY SO GOOD. I get why they're rated highly on Yelp. The gelato melts in your mouth and the lychee flavor was *chef's kiss* Tastes exactly how lychee does. This is definitely a new spot I'm adding to my desserts list!!!

Just happened upon this place this past week when out to dinner in downtown Redwood City. I must say..it is just the best. So if you are in the downtown area, feel like getting some nice gelato with many flavors..you need to try this place!! This is a must for those gelato lovers!

Caffé Stellato is one of those places that quietly earns your loyalty. Being open late already makes it a win, but the gelato is what seals the deal. The flavors are consistently delicious and you really cannot miss with any of them. Classic, trending, or something new, every scoop delivers. Add in the wide selection of candies and treats and it feels like there is always something fun waiting for you. The staff truly stands out. They are always kind, welcoming, and generous, which makes every visit feel easy and relaxed. They also offer sandwiches, which we have not had the chance to try yet, but it is definitely something we are looking forward to. The space itself is warm and inviting, with seating both inside and outside. The split doorways make it feel inviting to come inside and stay awhile. Burlingame has plenty to offer, but this spot keeps bringing me back. Great flavors, friendly faces, and a place that simply feels good to walk into.

Caffe Stellato has around 60 gelato flavors and also sells snacks from around the world. I spied some Dubai chocolate bars, Japanese snacks, and Pez dispensers with candy among other things. I sampled 3 flavors but ended up with 1 scoop of coconut for $5. Service was excellent. I will definitely come back!

I recently visited Cafe Stellato for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I decided to try the Dubai strawberry chocolate gelato, thinking it might be a bit overhyped, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing. The gelato was incredibly creamy and had just the right balance of sweetness. Afterward, we had some sandwiches and they didn't disappoint either. The flavors were fresh, and everything was prepared with care. The staff were incredibly kind. There's not a lot of seating inside but there's more tables outside of the place.

Friendly service, delicious food, and great vibes all around. A quaint gelato, sandwich deli, candy shop all in one! The sandwiches are delicious and filling! With so many different options to choose from, we will definitely come back to try more. I also got the Caprese salad, which had plenty of mozzarella balls and nice flavor. 2 sandwiches and a salad set us back about $50, but it was enough for 2 meals for 2 people. Afterwards, you can walk 5 steps to the gelato station where you can also get a hefty scoop of gelato for $5, or try their new Dubai chocolate gelato for $10! Delicious!

2.5/5: Pistachio gelato: It's too sweet, and the flavor is weak because not enough pistachio paste is used. It has a lot of whole pistachios mixed into the gelato, which get rubbery. Very high level of stabilizers; it's very thick and pasty. The display is piled high.

Gelato: great Sandwiches: not good. I've tried their sandwiches twice now and both times the bread has been very old/stale. Ingredients are otherwise good, but bad bread makes a sandwich terrible, and actually not even edible in my case. I threw my second half away. My sandwich also took about 15 min to make when there wasn't a single other person in the place, not sure how that's possible. Definitely done with their sandwiches but will return for the gelato. read more

OK ice cream with completely rude staff working behind the counter. The man with a beard assisting us clearly shorted us when scooping out our ice cream flavors. When we politely let him know that we would appreciate slightly fuller scoops, he snapped back at us saying, "You don't get to tell me what a normal scoop looks like. I've been serving ice cream for 10 years!" Stunned by the unexpectedly strong reaction, my wife and I looked at each other perplexed and not knowing how to respond. We once again requested a little more ice cream to be added to the stingy scoop portion that was dished out, at which point, the rude man behind the counter looked directly at us and said, "Could you just leave," which is exactly what we did! Seriously the BEST ICE CREAM IN BURLINGAME!! Salt and Straw is so overrated. Caffe Stellato has 40 something flavors of gelato ranging from fruity and refreshing to creamy and chocolatey. Even a small scoop is perfect amount of sweetness to satiate your ice cream cravings. Also HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SANDWICHES there's a cute little deli front in the back with fresh Ingredients and popular Italian spreads that elevate the taste of any sand which you get. My favorite is the Burlingame sandwich with extra pesto spread - and the sandwiches are big enough for two lunches or to share :) read more

Tons of flavors to choose from. I got the tiramisu and green tea gelato. I have to say the tiramisu gelato was SO GOOD. Possibly the best gelato I've ever had. Yay! gelato is back in the hood. We were looking for a gelato on Burlingame,to replace Powell's candy shop that closed. Caffe Stellato is next to T pumps. They have tons of yummy flavors. We came here specifically for the Italian sandwiches. The sandwiches were very well done with robust and defined flavors. We ordered two Sicilianos and an Alpino and all were very satisfying. The ingredients were of generous portions and fresh. The shop is really nice with a lot of snacks, candy, Italian ingredients, desserts, gelato. We looked around while our sandwiches were being made. Best Deli, Gelato and Coffee in Town. Capresse is out of this world. Not to mention their Chicken sandwich with their secret sauce is excellent. If you love gelato and Italian coffee this is the place to go. You will feel like you are in Italy. The owners Malick and Lana are the best. You won't go wrong if you go to this Italian Deli. This hidden gem has 42 different flavor. The owner was so sweet and kind to make us try different flavors. I am a big chocolate fan so I got the triple fudge brownie. Finished eating dinner with my husband and decided to satisfy our cravings with something sweet! We loved this place to say the least! My husband chose the salted caramel gelato and I chose cookie dough! The portions were perfect, not too little not too much. Just enough for us to finish the night off. Next time, I'm definitely going that route. One thing I have to say -- the bread was hands down delicious. It tasted very fresh and had great texture. That was actually one of the highlights of the meal for me. You can tell they care about quality ingredients. Beyond the food, the overall experience was very positive. The customer service was great -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming, especially for it being my first time there. The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept. The location is convenient, and parking was easy, which is always a plus in this area. Even though the pulled pork sandwich just wasn't what I was personally feeling that day, I'm not knocking the place at all. Everything else about the experience was solid. I'm definitely willing to give it another shot, and I can easily see how this could be a 4- or 5-star place depending on what you order. That's when I stumbled upon Caffe Stellato, and boy, am I glad I did. This place is like a little slice of Italy hiding in plain sight! First things first - the gelato.
