Okay, folks....This is hands down the best coffee in Seattle, if what you like is a nice, dark, slightly smoky full-bodied roast. Everyone I bring to this place, no matter where they live, turns into a Fiore convert, and I was thrilled to end up with not one but two Fiore cards after Christmas. Thanks, Mom! Yes, the boys and girls behind the counter are cool and know it (and advertise it with photos of themselves doing exciting after-work activities), and yes, many of the regulars are attached to their Macs/strollers/stylish clothes/dogs/etc. And yes, the service is not always friendly. However. It doesn't take more than a few visits for the baristas to begin at least recognizing you. Plus, the coffee (drip and espresso) is so satisfying, and if you get a latte they make the lovely Fiore logo in the foam. Go, my children, and be cool.... read more

Caffe Fiore should be commended for their outreach work with their baristas. Born with tragic and fatal allergies to eye contact and filling orders, these innocent people were destined never to work in a typical friendly environment. However, Caffe Fiore has shown a great commitment to workplace accessibility and diversity by hiring these poor souls. Twice, I have been ignored for interminable stretches of time at the counter. But as I walk out without ordering anything at all, I consider the good community work that Caffe Fiore does by keeping the terminally antisocial employed and off the streets of our fair city. read more

Update: found out their beans are roasted not by them but FOR them by Cafe Vita. Used to get my beans here on Vacation. Now I work less than a block away. Have only ever received a few drinks here, but they got it right for me. The decor is inviting and the baristas are all always very nice and generous, giving me extra beans or other goodies on more than one occasion. And this is where i had my first Mighty-O. Here's the thing, the coffee in itself is quite good, but the staff...not so much. I was at the cafe a week ago for a matcha tea, a woman with long blondish hair with bangs was working the bar. Number one, this chick couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me, and two, she thought she was just a little too hot to be serving coffee. if I had been a man, I would have received better service. As a side note, the fiore in Ballard does a much better job and the red head gal that works the bar on Sunday morning is really sweet, beautiful and doesn't appear to threatened by other attractive women:) read more

Mixed feelings aren't always fun. The poor service at this place just barely rocks the boat over into the water when compared to their excellent product (the coffee they roast/serve). Here's how I define "poor service" on a consistent basis at this place, based on my experiences: 1) SLOW!!!!! You stand in line for a very long time, while nobody looks at you from behind the counter, or says they'll help you soon. 2) Attitude from the employees. They all should quit this joint and go back to work on Hwy 99 north or Dick's Burgers. It's clear that they don't give a crap about their customers. 3) They run out of their own product: Bags for whole bean coffee run out on a regular basis. Not a good way to sell coffee. Ways they could improve their service: 1) Smile at the nice people in line, and tell them "Be right with you, okay?" This, mi amigos, tells people that you care that they are at your establishment to spend money in this economy, rather than choosing any of the other 1.1 billion coffee shops in Seattle. 2) Give the perception that you care about the speed of your service, while holding to the quality product that you provide. Ummm....at least look like you're moving fast back there! Instead, you really all look like you care most about a. yourself, and b. the cute guy/girl you're working with that day. 3) THANK people for doing business with you. Remember...if our economy hits a lower point, you may not see any business at all. My coworkers and I often frequent Caffe Fiore for the eye-candy (we live in a GREAT city)! Aside from cute boys (and girls if you're into that), the coffee is hit and miss. When it hits, it hits a hard 5-star, however when it misses it's barely a one. The baristas are always sweet and accommodating, and get to know you and your drink order by name. I ordered a macchiato with a twist, and the barista gave it to me with a cute cloverleaf on top. I drank it outside in the afternoon, and the sun shone gloriously down on the twenty or so outdoor wooden chairs. There was a light breeze, fluttering the pages of The Stranger I flippantly flipped through. I had acquired the newsrag from a dispenser only a few feet away from my chair; a set of newspaper dispensers is conveniently directly outside the cafe. The macchiato was tasty and well-made, and the espresso was a nice roast. With a twist, the double cost about $3. The Stranger and the half hour of Vitamin D acquisition: free. The bantering baristas: friendly, a bit sassy, and definitely not androids. Probably organic. read more

I like the feel to this cafe, but really don't like their espresso. I've tried it twice at this location and several other times at other cafes that carry their coffee. I am definitely a fan of Caffe Fiore! I love love love their Organic Mochas! Hot or Iced I could drink those everyday! I also appreciate how they feature pastries and snacks from other local Organic companies, however not all of their pastries/snacks are Organic. Wonderful atmosphere & Free WiFi My complaint would be that it's called an Organic Coffee house yet unless you ask for Organic Milk you don't receive it and it cost extra. Also their syrups (with the exception of the Mocha) are not Organic. So it is confusing as to why this place is called an Organic Coffee house when not many of their ingredients are Organic. read more

On my last day in Seattle (this morning), I decided to give Seattle coffee one last try, since I have yet to find a coffee I like better than my local favorite in San Jose (Philz, I love you) At Fiore, I got the Sevilla, a mocha with orange flavor. It was pretty good, reminded me of an orange stick candy (I hate those), but it actually tasted good. The seating arrangement is a little unfortunate though; tons of big tables, very few small ones, so one jackass with his newspaper can use up a third of the space in the shop, essentially forcing you out of doors (you know who you are bud). Since I didn't feel like making any new friends this morning, I sat in one of the big chairs outside, which was pleasant enough considering it was sunny, but what if it was raining, what then? Please, you can slide small tables together, but you can't break big ones apart. Maybe next time Seattle, next time I'll find that magical cup of perfect coffee everyone's been talking about. read more

Yesterday I was on Queen Anne doing some work on my laptop. Since street parking is only good for two hours, I decided to changes shops every couple of hours rather than risk a ticket. Caffè Fiorè closed out my day. This is what a Seattle coffee shop is supposed to be. Warm, inviting, unpretentious, with free WIFI, and great, certified organic coffee. Although they have a couple of other shops, this is not a "chain". I've been to the Caffè Fiorè on Sunset Hill a couple of times, and found it to be just as pleasant, and very consistent. The thing I love about this Caffè Fiorè is the location. It's not on the main drag like my other favorite Queen Anne shop, so it's a little quieter, most peaceful. It was almost warm enough to sit outside, but I chose a large round table near the front inside, which I shared with two other patrons. I spent about an hour here, watching a lazy spring afternoon unfold while I worked. It was very peaceful, and I got quite a lot of work done. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

My drink of choice is cafe au lait - because I just don't care for the slightly acidy aftertaste of espresso drinks. I find that outside of Hawai'i, this drink has gotten replaced by some strange brew called an Americano. (A watered down espresso - I swear I don't make this stuff up) Props to Caffe Fiore for making the best Cafe Au Lait I've had since I was in Paris on the left bank! Yummy! Huge fan of Fiore. They have one barista Alicia who makes quite possibly my favorite drink in Seattle. The Green Tea Macha- on ice with skim milk is the most delicious drink ever. I know- this is a coffee place- but since Alicia introed me to this drink its the only thing i order. Cool little top-of-the-hill cafe on Galer that's tucked away from the main drag. I've been here a few times to get coffee to go and to stay for a while and I've never had any problems with service like some people have mentioned; they've always been really nice and friendly to me. This place fills a niche that needed to be filled, before I didn't really feel that there was a cafe of this type up on Queen Anne. Sure, you've got El Diablo and that place is cool and you've got the Tea Cup but there's something different about this place. Maybe its the interior? Fiore is definitely a very "second-wave" Seattle coffee shop in terms of the attention paid to detail in the space. I'm a big fan of all of the tables of various sizes and the funky light bulbs. The colors are very warm and make one feel really welcome to sit for a few hours and do whatever it is one is there to do. The prices are reasonable considering they use all organic ingredients and make some STRONG shots. The concept in itself is a great one and I hope it inspires some copycat cafes to jump on the organic bandwagon. read more

Queen Anne's Caffè Fiore has quickly become my go-to for casual coffee and personal time in the area. The first draw for someone like me, is the ample free parking in the area--it is very easy to commit to a coffee excursion if you know you're only paying for the coffee! The quick facts: Good wifi. Friendly baristas + staff. Cozy, darker atmosphere with average of low-medium noise level. Heavy focus on espresso drinks--specialty is the "Sevilla" (mocha with orange zest. highly recommend!) Good for children; they have a small table in a 'kids corner.' Noise level has always been good regardless. They're busiest on weekends, but generally are somewhat busy at all times in the afternoon. Some food available--standard cafe faire. Never had anything myself, but with the other stores in the area you're probably better off getting food elsewhere first. Tons of outdoor seating. No tables, but the lawn-recliner style chairs have wide flat armrests which serve as adequate tabletops. Most of the seating indoors is large table and bar-space with very few individual tables, so be prepared to share. The cafe is part of a larger chain in Seattle, but it still feels utterly unique and "neighbourhood." They do not have a punch card, but they have a reloadable gift card (much like Starbucks) with a free drink after every 10 purchased. The espresso is pretty top-tier. Full-bodied and flavourful but not acrid in the least--it goes down very smooth! A doppio costs $2.50 on its own, and an Americano just $2.75 for any size. Other espresso drinks are somewhat average-priced, but on the cheaper end in my opinion. Highly recommend! read more

Best cup I've found in town. I've spent some time in Italy, and I've spent some tom in Chicago, and I'm not saying that makes me a coffee expert but let's say I know what I like and I found it in both of those places. And I hadn't found it yet in Seattle despite the city's reputation for incredible coffee. That is, UNTIL I went to Fioré. These people make a solid coffee drink. The Sevilla is a chocolate orange concoction that's just the right amount of sweet. I normally don't drink shi-shi drinks though -- which is no problem, as you don't need flavors to mask the coffee here. The plain cappuccinos and macchiatos here are perfectly made. I subtracted a star for service -- I've never been treated outright rudely like some other reviewers seem to have been, but let's say I go elsewhere if my primary goal is friendly service. But if I want a really fine cup of coffee, this is definitely my go-to. read more

Yikes! Super cold unfriendly service, I thought I was in an episode of "Portlandia." I guess they serve Caffe Vita coffee, and I wish I'd just gone there instead; I would certainly have had a better experience. This is my favorite coffee shop to go and get things done! No comfy chairs to tempt me into laziness, with just the right amount of afternoon sunlight, Cafe Fiore is a great study spot. The music is nearly always good and the coffee aint bad either. Watch out for the loose electrical outlet at the bar next to the window and eavesdrop on the always interesting conversations happening at the big round community table. Boy is it warm in here! I removed my coat, scarf and continued to sweat on a cool winter day. Drinks were okay, a small cap and a hot peppermint tea. The staff is cordial and they stock their condiment station with raw sugar, honey, simple sugar syrup and less organic choices, too. We had just eaten so we didn't try any of he pastries which were pretty pricey at $3.50 - $5 for such dainty snacks. We paid $8 just for the drinks. They have a counter for four by the window and another table lined with six hard metal stools. If it's full, you can climb the stairs to the mezzanine which I didn't visit. They were cranking the Bose kind of high to have a quiet conversation and the location of this cafe is right next to a Fit Bar and an Anytime Fitness, which is weird. Still, customers regular filed in and out while we sat for a couple of hours so this must be a local favorite even though it's not a Starbucks! read more

The first thing to grab my attention as I walked by Caffe Fiore was the color's of the building. What seems to be a dark charcoal and very calming shade of blue, it was calling my name. The second thing to catch my attention was the ample amount of seating outside. On nice days it is a joy to sit outside and read or converse with others. The barista's have always been wonderful, and friendly, and of course they make wonderful drinks. Lots of seating indoors as well. By far one of my favorite coffee shops in Queen Anne. read more
